It looks great and I have an idea of where I would use it :) It would be crossing a Jotunheimen National Park in Norway and summiting plenty of mountains along the way.
Hi Hendrik, How you getting on with the Advance? Other than the fabric's lack of breathability after 5 nights in varying conditions I'm really liking mine..will be good to see a follow up from you and compare notes..happy camping . Andrew
Hendrik. Always the reliable information guy, did you have a chance to sleep in this thing? If so, how was it? I wonder how it would handle high winds in Jämtland...🤷🏻 How bad was the condensation?
Just wondering how you guys can cook in rough weather 😢 I just got one but don’t know what to do because it hasn’t got a vestibule Any help would be appreciated thanks
I'm generally a believer in MSR products, but they really screwed the pooch on these series of tents. As a ski mountaineer, I've put a lot of time in 4 season tents. These alpinist tents are a niche. The MSR Advance PRO 2 is comparable to the RAB Latok Mountain 2 tent in use, but that's the end of the similarities. They are both around $800 and both single walled. The RAB tent is superior in every other way. It is made out of a breathable material and has better tie-outs for wind. One definite advantage is the poles are inside the tent so you can set up the tent on the inside. Further, it is designed for alpinist and includes anchor points for both the tent to the wall and sleeper. It is overall a superior tent.
How do you like the entrance on the short side of the tent. Entrance on the long side seems to be far more practical to me, like on the Hilleberg Unna. Wats yout toughts an experience?
Hi Jorel, I’m using a Shotgun Mic, in my video about the Samyang lens I also talk about the noise (you can hear it a bit but the mic doesn’t pic it up heaps).
@@HendrikMorkel yep, but then it is a one season tent ;-) not a 4 season. Love this tent but that is the reason i am looking elsewhere (how is the condensation Hendrik). For all the rest i use my tarp (with bugnet), wanted an all season one too (cold and hot climats)...difficult to find an allround tent
I like that if the pull tab is exposed you can just slip the poles into the tent as you remove from stuff sack
Thanks, looks good!
Hendrik, excellent first look, really clear and informative review :-)
Thank you Gerry!

Sounds like a good plan mate!

"I don't even need to turn around the camera" 3:40 -> Next step: Turn the camera :-D I like your humour ^^
😜 Same angle is boring, better to move the camera a bit! Euch schöne Feiertage!
@@HendrikMorkel Wünsche dir und deiner Familie auch schöne Feiertage :-)

You think is better than Rab Summit Superlight????
Do you own a 20” and 25” thermarest? Will they fit together inside?
Hey with this lens do you hear focusing noise if you have a shotgun mic on it? Were you using a lav mic?

Nice vid!! What happened with the Nordisk tent? You still have it?
greetings from Norway
Hi mate, the Nordisk still waits for an outing 😂
If gear and food prep wasn't a thing, then maybe you could call it a 2P tent.
Oh, no bug mesh
In Alpine Environments, for which this tent is made, you usually have no bugs :)
