Just wanna add something about Slingshot for him, I talked about it while making the weapon sheet on stream but forgor to mention it again during the recording: Based on Slingshot wording, I assume you won't get the +60% CA DMG% on the Hat portion of his damage, and you'll instead get the -10%. With this assumption, even if you manage to work around Slingshot's CRIT Rate and still manage to not overcap on CRIT, it's not particularly good compared to the other F2P options. However, if this assumption is wrong and you do get the +60% CA DMG% on the hat, then Slingshot performs similarly to Viridescent Hunt without accounting for its grouping passive, making it a fairly good F2P option if you manage to balance your CRIT ratio. I don't think this scenario is likely though, so just keep that in mind
So basically, the weapon banner for Lyney is literally perfect, his two best weapons are on the banner, so whichever you get, you got an amazing weapon for him
Lyney seems like a good character who's specifically meant to be really easy to build. He wants a mono pyro team. Xiangling and Lynette are free and they're giving a free bennett in 4.0. He has crit rate ascension and a crit rate artifact set so he doesnt have to worry as much about perfect crit value rolls, he can just focus on atk and crit damage. I kind of like it as a design space. He's good enough to compete even if you are an endgame player but he's also very straightforward to build.
I also does agree with him being good character but Artifact wise it would be verrry hard to farm since you would not want to overcap the crit rate mean while EM is useless for him so tow more less useful stats to get and 5cd rolls are quite hard I mean so hard to come by probability wise it's worst

Despite the fact that Lyney and Blade have a different personalities, it amuses me greatly that the VA has voiced two mihoyo characters with hp loss mechanics
What I like about him is that mihoyo seems to be changing their kit design philosophy from the player's feedback: Team restriction dealt in a better way than nilou, reasonable constellations
Nilou isthe best AoE team in game so having a prerequisite for the teambuilding really feels satisfying over anything else, not even Xianling compares to Nibloom
He isn’t forced in to mono pyro like how nilou is forced to use only hydro/dendro but it’s even worse when lyney uses almost all of the good supports in the game to have a good team. Kinda worse than nilou situation tbh cause nilou issue was never about the lock on hydro and dendro directly. It was that there were no options for the team which only increase over time.

So his team restriction is even greater than Nilou's because Pyro doesn't have that many good support, and universal supports that doesn't mess with the pyro aura is also quite valuable

Its sad that even tho there are so many support units, none directly works with Charged Attacks Its only Normal Attacks party Thoma Xingqiu Yelan Candace c6 Beidou (Beidou actually works with charged attacks, found out by comments) Yun Jin Its so sad, Hoyo please release a support for charged attack units, it can be anemo for grouping and shreading (Like a C6 Faruzan on steroid support) or a Geo low damage but shielding (Thoma but with charged attacks)

thoma c6 is a shielder and increases charged attack dmg of teammates by 15%, but you're losing the dmg from his burst by not normal attacking so... I'm just "well ackshually"-ing
lyneys kit looks like what yoimiya couldve been strong single target that has aoe but you also get damaged burst is where the self damage comes from but you get a shield with talents (shield gets extra pyro damage absorption) gives a reason to actually burst every rotation would also work perfectly with the artifact set that looks like its literally made for her (shield strength+extra damage while shielded) its kind of annoying how they made yoimiya a fireworks maker but didnt give her aoe. then they release another 5 star pyro bow with aoe
I honestly don't have any problems which her NA focused kit but her burst being complete trash is what irks me. As a fireworks maker she should have had some AOE in her burst. I'm fine with the burst damage but after she does her burst she should've been able to mark all the enemies in a certain AOE instead of just marking one and then killing it to transfer the mark. So even if she doesn't have any strong AOE abilities she could've functioned as a good support during her skill downtime. Also her constellations are absolute trash for a limited 5* character. Only constellation which is useful is her C2 which grants her 25% Pyro Damage bonus for 6 secs on a crit hit but apart from that everything is trash. Her C6 might just be the worst C6 in the game as it completely F up her vape combo by firing an extra arrow so now her 7th NA attack will not vape resulting in huge dps loss.
So he's essentially stacking fuck ton of atk by the following ways : 1}character passive Mono pyro (100%) 2} pyro resonance (20%) 3} bennet burst (20-40 %) 4}IF you run 4pc noblesse on any of the character in the party (20%) 5} weapon passive (48%) And add the crit rate buffs from his ancesion and weapon, he'd have wayy more atk and CR than anything that his best stat in a mono pyro team is CDmg😂😂
I understand why you don’t like nilou’s team restriction but she’d be incredibly busted if she could be paired with venti to group enemies and Kazuha or Sucrose to buff the team’s EM there would be no point in using any other team even if doing so decreased her bloom damage by 20%
No, shut up. Having grouping and swirl abuse on top of broken AoE explosions that don't require a single crit stat would totally be much better and healthier design. I need to bench my other teams even more than I already do
Its bad without stacks, dependent on fights whether you can even have any trash to clear, doesn’t work off field, and Lyney is probably bad at killing trash because he’s single target.
IVE BEEN WAITINGGG like his kit is A++ for how flashy it is but at the core of it all, its kinda like tighnari? but with one arrow shooting out instead of 4. but i havent been factoring reactions because he seems to love mono-pyro but id definitely look into it. edit: i have to agree. his passive is GOOD! not because its groundbreaking but because it doesnt cripple him entirely when you play him differently 😭 nilous main deal is super blooms. lyneys main deal is his prop arrows and hats. those dont get removed when you play him in other teams than mono. looking at his multipliers now, i think mono will be strong! surprisingly, you can get a lot of pyro dmg bonus from xiangling and bennett. kazuha is nice but that would leave 1 slot which most people would probably put a shielder.
I don't think he's like Tighnari since it doesn't seem like he has a way to make instant charged shots, which is what makes Tighnari godly in quickswap teams, and why Ganyu's slow charged shots feel terrible to play.

actually amos being the bottom tier of 5star is actually not bad, just because everyone now and then will get amos from standard or missed from weapon banner and they can use it on lyney, plus not a lot of 4star characters use amos anyway... so it might be a material saving if that's the case
Lyney is the first character I saved for since Nahida, so I was waiting for this a lot. Thanks for the pre-release! Will be enjoying my time in Fontaine with mr strimmer again like I did in Sumeru :)
don't forget, he has pneuma in his charged shot, every new character has this new mechanic in either NA/skill/burst, so you count the damage + arkhe mechanic.
IMO, they made Dendro too powerful, and the game suffers because of it. They need to do a lot to boost the other elements back up to the level of Dendro for the game to come anywhere close to being balanced now. Geo and Physical, especially, are basically dead now, but even Pyro and Cryo are less appealing than they once were. There was way too much focus on Dendro.
@@summermoney2971they were meta however investment wise for resin duribg that tine waa highly fixated of emblem of severed fate and hyper carry artifacts such as pale flame cryo artifact set and crimson witch. Which are innately hard to succeed in. A lot of dendro comps require less resin than average and some the dendro artifacts (gilded dreams) changed an entire landscape for team building. Its has also been one of the elements most associated with breaking hydro related enemies. While maintaining strong elemental diversity. A cryo team trult only has hydro cryo and anemo, a dendro team can have much more variety.... and the costs for building them are only truly limited to your team comping options...
pyro and cryo are still something they are very careful about, they are so careful that cryo doesn't have any characters that ignore the ICD rules after 2 years and pyro only has xiangling, that's very telling that they don't want to spoil the balance that they have been trying to maintain but it is likely that at some point they will have to.
@@netparse Well said if pyro and cryo had any independence from hydro units to function on their own the forward amplifying reactions would take center stage. I kind of want them to do that though because its hard to justify certain units now when EM builds are pretty cracked as far as dendro is concerned
Even though I do plan skipping him mainly because I'm holding out for the archon. It sounds like his build with his set is very Ayaka like. Not much crit rate needing more so load him up with attack% energy recharge crit damage.
He already gains a lot of energy from his pyro teammates + A1 passive + his skill generates 5 energy, so that makes it easier for players to focus on damage-related stats
@bloddrinkeraka I mean true, but I also am not super enthused about his gameplay. Ironically, if anything, I might drop a couple of 10 pulls into Yelan's banner. I do like the gameplay of his sister lynette, although I do know we get a free one right away. I do want to get some of her cons. I'm gonna try and stay above 80 wishes. It's also what I want involving the archon. I want her and her weapon. My account is the ultimate archon simp account.
I'm glad I got 2 Aqua's, it makes the newer bow characters a lot more desirable for me. I can use it on Ganyu, Tighnari, Lyney, Yelan, and more! Even memes like DPS C6 Faruzan is not that bad with it.

Yeah... I used to curse how Nilou made slots restricted. Then I went and got some amazing hydro/dendro charas and she's so strong. Wouldn't take a Nerf in exchange for a flex slot
Except Nilou can use the most copium Hydro/Dendro teammates and still nuke the enemies like it's nothing. Ironically, Nilou is super easy to build despite restrictions.
@@thegreatBarbossajust make its damage bonus exponential scale on the amount of hydro and dendro teammates up to the current value at full team. That way your highly incentivised for full team but still benefit at low members. Zajef has brought this up before. It's not hard, it is shitty design, would not take a complete redesign. Many other chars have this kind of scaling on their passive skills.
Lyney's Bow looks like it could be awesome for Ganyu in mono Cryo / Freeze. You get higher base Atk than Acqua, a lot fo Crit Dmg, Same Atk% Boost as Amos(mono cryo), and CA% Dmg... I mean... It's like it combines a lot of good stuff from multiple weapons.

Lyney's Perilous Performance passive that triggers off a change in HP will probably push ppl to have healers instead of shielders instead which will make him even squishier, since I assume the passive would turn off once he reaches the 60% mark and stops consuming HP per shot. However, still very excited for this character, I think i've got a bit of dendro fatigue where setting up reactions like Thoma burgeon can be finicky and temperamental so mono pyro with big numbers might be refreshing.
I dont get this lol. There's already bennett that can sustain him decently. He can also heal himself practically to full health every use of skill. So shielders are definitely better than another healer aside from bennett.
@@mochiicecream1487 I was just going off raw mechanics, for instance there are times when Bennett isn't available such as in a different Abyss team so it might be more beneficial to go for a sole healer and free up a slot for a better dmg dealer. And you should probs be doing his healing skill only after multiple shots, in which case, only the first shot will be using his passive and the rest will be stuck at the 60% with no HP changes if you're using a shielder but I could be wrong. It's mostly just saying that they seem to have HP changes with him in mind so a shielder might not be his best in the long run.

The reason why zachef is focusing more on shielders/interrupt res is because the synergy of lyney and bennett( which is already a healer) is almost the same as hu tao and xingqiu. I mean I guess if the player doesn't really care about dmg much, removing benny from his team will automatically require a healer in his team slot so yeah. Besides, there aren't really any other great buffers for lyney. But ye I understand where you're getting at.

I like his kit and he is at a good power level, but having Childe, melt Ganyu and Hu Tao, I don't know if I can justify pulling him before the Fontaine lineup is mostly revealed. He looks fun and flashy (and has a funny cat!), but I have two characters who want the same team as him already and one that can reasonably drive mono-pyro if needed, so playing him may not feel as fresh for me as I'd hoped for. We'll see, I'll have 3 weeks after his release to decide.
As someone who mains bow users (and has all currently out) I’ve always been pretty happy with the state of Genshin’s 5 star bow users. None of them feel below average in terms of damage, and their uniqueness in kits is overall pretty varied (from Childe’s melee stance, to Tighnari’s quickswap, to Yoimiya’s single target, to Yelan’s INSANE support, even to Ganyu’s charge attack kit.) I have thoroughly enjoyed using each one in a number of teams, and since the majority of the 5 star bows are ALSO pretty decent overall, I’ve gotten a few for myself as a welkin payer and been very happy with my character’s damage output. I’m overall really looking forward to another bow users joining my roster 🙏 and hearing that he’s also got a unique kit with decent numbers only had me more excited for him.
Can't wait to see mono pyro being forced to use a bow character, because Lyney is the answer for flying enemies in the Abyss. Not to forget pneuma and ousia.
Why you didn't say anything about burst hypercarry vape team with Mona? 3 seconds burst duration will be ideal for 5 second Mona's Omen, burst damage will insane and other buffs will be enough for making strong 2-3 or maybe 4 CA.

I can't take it anymore. I'm sick of Phys Xiangling. I try to play Pyro Xiangling with 4p Exile yet my Phys Xiangling does more damage and doesn't need funneling. I try to play Yoimiya but she is just a silhouette on a character sheet. I see no Cyno yet. There's no more Dehya disappointment anymore. I want to play Klee because she's better than Diluc and definitely better than Xiangling, though the arsonist child is clunky to play. I want to play Childe but I don't know how rotations work and play him as a hypercarry. She grabs me by the throat. I farm Northlander Billets for her. I cook for her. I give her R5 Cresent Pike. She isn't satisfied. "Save up for Signora. Hopefully she's a dedicated Physical support Cryo catalyst, surely." In the meantime I try giving Vortex Vanquisher to her because she deserved it more than Zhongli. "I don't need this much ATK%," She tells me. "Give me more field time." She lamented. "You just need to pull Cryo Amber so I have more Superconduct uptime" I can't pull for Ganyu, I don't have enough primogems. She grabs my credit card. It declines. "Guess this is the end." She grabs Gouba. She says "Gouba, get them." There is no hint of sadness in her eyes. Nothing but underwhelming white damage numbers. What a cruel world... TL:DR: OPPA XL on top.
If you vape half his damage with 300 total EM he actually covers the loss of A4 passive (at 3 Pyro). That disappoints me a bit, I'm still hoping the passive is a separate multiplier (like C4 Xingqiu) instead of the DMG bonus multiplier.
Seems like a character I might like to try, but I'm so un-excited about another character that's glued to bennet. Theres a lot more team options without bennet than there used to be but it's still quite limiting when most hypercarries, a lot of vape teams, pretty much every melt team, and also a lot of burgeon teams will all be pretty incompatable in the abyss with lyney on the other side.
That is because it isnt better unless you really like the character like klee mono pyro there still isnt better situations for mono pyro to outperform childe international
Unfortunately it can never be better, unless with Lyney cons though I'm not aware if it will be better with cons, just an assumption. The only reason you'd use him over Childe is if u don't have Childe, or prefer Lyney as a character
International needs a lot of planning and artifact tuning to work due to how restricted the rotation is. Multiwave, spread out enemies, not meeting damage thresholds - all that stuff is a pain to work around. Monopyro is braindead facerolling, at least the Klee version. You don't care about cooldowns, have more energy than you will ever need, no funneling, can straight up skip skills if you want (and don't need to spin up pyronado to kill a single random straggler), can start rooms with zero energy and be perfectly fine. The thing is, I can't understand the Lyney hype. It's Klee, but ACTUALLY clunky this time because Klee cancels are mostly a meme (the only one in real use is N1C which is much easier than HuTao N1C), while bow CAs suck donkey balls and there's no way around them.
It's not up to Childe. It's up to Xiangling. She's BiS in all monopyro and National versions. Childe is only BiS in one National version. Outside of it there are better candidates than him with less cooldown in dendro or electrocharge. She's the one that really calls the shots in Xiangling International. Actually 3 of them other than Childe does. They have far more other places where they're BiS than Childe.
maybe if your mono pyro team is hyperinvested like with constellations and his bis weapon maybe even some refinements on it too. then it probably will be better than international with the same investment
How about using him in burning team?, Is burning count as pyro aura?, Burning can damage your own character if you close enough to the enemy, so you can reliably keep the new artifact passive, Just my thought, don't take it too serious
I think a good rotation would be, Lyney CA*2, kazuha/sucrose/Lynette EQ, Benny EQ, xiangling EQ, and then on Lyney use burst, then 2 CA and then E. That will give you 5 stacks decently quick. I know people are going to say “won’t his stacks expire?” So lemme adress it, his skill says “all prop surplus stacks are cleared when Lyney is out of combat for 60 seconds” that’s the same thing as ittos stacks so they will stay even when swapping off Lyney.
Im conflicted on Lyney. On one had I love bow users and glass cannon characters, on the other hand I don't like how he's pretty forced into Lyney Bennet flex Anemo/Zhongli. (Also with bennet aura Lyney is gonna get one shot all the time). It's yet another bennet impact team that is reliant on Kazuha
i've been testing him, he's REALLY strong, like, stupidly strong, what i found is that he has insane nuke potential, you can run a team with mona instead of xiangling, mona as a dps that nukes into 200K+, while lyney also nukes, it's like raiden national on steroids with way better AoE potential because of kazuha (it is worse if you run freeze tho however since kazuha's on the team already i doubt someone will run freeze in the second team). It's his most comfortable team, it's as strong as monopyro in most cases, and this team requires no stacks because it's a quickswap team, lyney allows so because his burst cooldown is surprisingly low ngl, his second best team imo is monopyro with xiangling and kazuha, it's worse because even though this team has more DMG potential, abyss isn't really for non shielded CA units, and you'll have to swap early with lyney or the enemy will knock you out which messes up your rotation (by example his tightest rotation is 1 CA at start then 3 CA after buffed with bennett if you get knocked you'll have to do 2 because if you do 3 you loose bennett's buff on burst that's what i mean), so that team IS better, on paper, but it's also harder to use without defensive utility, you can also use lynette's taunt but at that point just use lyney's quickswap with mona because there you get kazuha's better buff.
I wasn't initially excited for him but after his gameplay was released and he looked like Amber on steroids with superb animations I was really excited. I have actually tried to play Amber from time to time and it is very difficult to detonate Baron Bunny with her C2 with the right timing ( you have to shoot its foot D:
I really like Lyney but not his teams. As he is the only Fontaine chatacter I really like I'm still not so certain to get him or not. I have both Kazuha and Zhongli and Benny too. I don't know. I actually like Tighnari but I barely use him...

From what ive seen in leaks, he actually can use skill 2 times, one before ult and it looks like while he is in cathat form he can use skill again, even if it was on cd when he changed form.
I don't understand how someone can use Bennet with Lynney. His Burst is a cat car that you have to drive around. Bennett burst is a tiny circle. So you just burst and sit still for 4 seconds in Lynne's cat until it explodes? it doesn't sound that good honestly.
Lyney got so much stats (with his signature) that you can pretty much play him with shit artefacts with only the 4p and ATK/Pyro%/Crit that it would still be ok

What I like about him is that mihoyo seems to be changing their kit design philosophy from the player's feedback: Team restriction dealt in a better way than nilou, reasonable constellations
Nilou isthe best AoE team in game so having a prerequisite for the teambuilding really feels satisfying over anything else, not even Xianling compares to Nibloom
He isn’t forced in to mono pyro like how nilou is forced to use only hydro/dendro but it’s even worse when lyney uses almost all of the good supports in the game to have a good team. Kinda worse than nilou situation tbh cause nilou issue was never about the lock on hydro and dendro directly. It was that there were no options for the team which only increase over time.

I love Yoimiya and her playstyle, but my only issue with her is aoe. I think every Yoimiya haver can agree.
I honestly don't have any problems which her NA focused kit but her burst being complete trash is what irks me. As a fireworks maker she should have had some AOE in her burst. I'm fine with the burst damage but after she does her burst she should've been able to mark all the enemies in a certain AOE instead of just marking one and then killing it to transfer the mark. So even if she doesn't have any strong AOE abilities she could've functioned as a good support during her skill downtime.
Also her constellations are absolute trash for a limited 5* character. Only constellation which is useful is her C2 which grants her 25% Pyro Damage bonus for 6 secs on a crit hit but apart from that everything is trash. Her C6 might just be the worst C6 in the game as it completely F up her vape combo by firing an extra arrow so now her 7th NA attack will not vape resulting in huge dps loss.

So he's essentially stacking fuck ton of atk by the following ways :
1}character passive Mono pyro (100%)
2} pyro resonance (20%)
3} bennet burst (20-40 %)
4}IF you run 4pc noblesse on any of the character in the party (20%)
5} weapon passive (48%)
And add the crit rate buffs from his ancesion and weapon, he'd have wayy more atk and CR than anything that his best stat in a mono pyro team is CDmg😂😂
The passive doens't give ATK; it gives DMG% Bonus.

Lyney's ascension 2 passive is somewhat like Yelan's ascension 1 passive, useful when you use it but not forced.
Kinda weird Blackcliff Warbow wasn’t talked about more with crit dmg substat & the stacks adding a lot of additional attack.
Its bad without stacks, dependent on fights whether you can even have any trash to clear, doesn’t work off field, and Lyney is probably bad at killing trash because he’s single target.

edit: i have to agree. his passive is GOOD! not because its groundbreaking but because it doesnt cripple him entirely when you play him differently 😭 nilous main deal is super blooms. lyneys main deal is his prop arrows and hats. those dont get removed when you play him in other teams than mono. looking at his multipliers now, i think mono will be strong! surprisingly, you can get a lot of pyro dmg bonus from xiangling and bennett. kazuha is nice but that would leave 1 slot which most people would probably put a shielder.
I don't think he's like Tighnari since it doesn't seem like he has a way to make instant charged shots, which is what makes Tighnari godly in quickswap teams, and why Ganyu's slow charged shots feel terrible to play.

actually amos being the bottom tier of 5star is actually not bad, just because everyone now and then will get amos from standard or missed from weapon banner and they can use it on lyney, plus not a lot of 4star characters use amos anyway... so it might be a material saving if that's the case

don't forget, he has pneuma in his charged shot, every new character has this new mechanic in either NA/skill/burst, so you count the damage + arkhe mechanic.
IMO, they made Dendro too powerful, and the game suffers because of it. They need to do a lot to boost the other elements back up to the level of Dendro for the game to come anywhere close to being balanced now. Geo and Physical, especially, are basically dead now, but even Pyro and Cryo are less appealing than they once were. There was way too much focus on Dendro.

@@summermoney2971they were meta however investment wise for resin duribg that tine waa highly fixated of emblem of severed fate and hyper carry artifacts such as pale flame cryo artifact set and crimson witch. Which are innately hard to succeed in. A lot of dendro comps require less resin than average and some the dendro artifacts (gilded dreams) changed an entire landscape for team building. Its has also been one of the elements most associated with breaking hydro related enemies. While maintaining strong elemental diversity. A cryo team trult only has hydro cryo and anemo, a dendro team can have much more variety.... and the costs for building them are only truly limited to your team comping options...
pyro and cryo are still something they are very careful about, they are so careful that cryo doesn't have any characters that ignore the ICD rules after 2 years and pyro only has xiangling, that's very telling that they don't want to spoil the balance that they have been trying to maintain but it is likely that at some point they will have to.
@@netparse Well said if pyro and cryo had any independence from hydro units to function on their own the forward amplifying reactions would take center stage. I kind of want them to do that though because its hard to justify certain units now when EM builds are pretty cracked as far as dendro is concerned

Even though I do plan skipping him mainly because I'm holding out for the archon. It sounds like his build with his set is very Ayaka like. Not much crit rate needing more so load him up with attack% energy recharge crit damage.
He already gains a lot of energy from his pyro teammates + A1 passive + his skill generates 5 energy, so that makes it easier for players to focus on damage-related stats

I do like the gameplay of his sister lynette, although I do know we get a free one right away. I do want to get some of her cons. I'm gonna try and stay above 80 wishes. It's also what I want involving the archon. I want her and her weapon. My account is the ultimate archon simp account.

Except Nilou can use the most copium Hydro/Dendro teammates and still nuke the enemies like it's nothing. Ironically, Nilou is super easy to build despite restrictions.

C2 Klee is actually a very good off-field teammate for him
Lyney's Perilous Performance passive that triggers off a change in HP will probably push ppl to have healers instead of shielders instead which will make him even squishier, since I assume the passive would turn off once he reaches the 60% mark and stops consuming HP per shot. However, still very excited for this character, I think i've got a bit of dendro fatigue where setting up reactions like Thoma burgeon can be finicky and temperamental so mono pyro with big numbers might be refreshing.

I dont get this lol. There's already bennett that can sustain him decently. He can also heal himself practically to full health every use of skill. So shielders are definitely better than another healer aside from bennett.
@@mochiicecream1487 I was just going off raw mechanics, for instance there are times when Bennett isn't available such as in a different Abyss team so it might be more beneficial to go for a sole healer and free up a slot for a better dmg dealer. And you should probs be doing his healing skill only after multiple shots, in which case, only the first shot will be using his passive and the rest will be stuck at the 60% with no HP changes if you're using a shielder but I could be wrong. It's mostly just saying that they seem to have HP changes with him in mind so a shielder might not be his best in the long run.

The reason why zachef is focusing more on shielders/interrupt res is because the synergy of lyney and bennett( which is already a healer) is almost the same as hu tao and xingqiu. I mean I guess if the player doesn't really care about dmg much, removing benny from his team will automatically require a healer in his team slot so yeah. Besides, there aren't really any other great buffers for lyney. But ye I understand where you're getting at.

I like his kit and he is at a good power level, but having Childe, melt Ganyu and Hu Tao, I don't know if I can justify pulling him before the Fontaine lineup is mostly revealed. He looks fun and flashy (and has a funny cat!), but I have two characters who want the same team as him already and one that can reasonably drive mono-pyro if needed, so playing him may not feel as fresh for me as I'd hoped for. We'll see, I'll have 3 weeks after his release to decide.

As someone who mains bow users (and has all currently out) I’ve always been pretty happy with the state of Genshin’s 5 star bow users. None of them feel below average in terms of damage, and their uniqueness in kits is overall pretty varied (from Childe’s melee stance, to Tighnari’s quickswap, to Yoimiya’s single target, to Yelan’s INSANE support, even to Ganyu’s charge attack kit.) I have thoroughly enjoyed using each one in a number of teams, and since the majority of the 5 star bows are ALSO pretty decent overall, I’ve gotten a few for myself as a welkin payer and been very happy with my character’s damage output.
I’m overall really looking forward to another bow users joining my roster 🙏 and hearing that he’s also got a unique kit with decent numbers only had me more excited for him.

Why you didn't say anything about burst hypercarry vape team with Mona? 3 seconds burst duration will be ideal for 5 second Mona's Omen, burst damage will insane and other buffs will be enough for making strong 2-3 or maybe 4 CA.

I can't take it anymore. I'm sick of Phys Xiangling. I try to play Pyro Xiangling with 4p Exile yet my Phys Xiangling does more damage and doesn't need funneling. I try to play Yoimiya but she is just a silhouette on a character sheet. I see no Cyno yet. There's no more Dehya disappointment anymore. I want to play Klee because she's better than Diluc and definitely better than Xiangling, though the arsonist child is clunky to play. I want to play Childe but I don't know how rotations work and play him as a hypercarry. She grabs me by the throat. I farm Northlander Billets for her. I cook for her. I give her R5 Cresent Pike. She isn't satisfied. "Save up for Signora. Hopefully she's a dedicated Physical support Cryo catalyst, surely." In the meantime I try giving Vortex Vanquisher to her because she deserved it more than Zhongli. "I don't need this much ATK%," She tells me. "Give me more field time." She lamented. "You just need to pull Cryo Amber so I have more Superconduct uptime" I can't pull for Ganyu, I don't have enough primogems. She grabs my credit card. It declines. "Guess this is the end." She grabs Gouba. She says "Gouba, get them." There is no hint of sadness in her eyes. Nothing but underwhelming white damage numbers. What a cruel world...

If you vape half his damage with 300 total EM he actually covers the loss of A4 passive (at 3 Pyro).
That disappoints me a bit, I'm still hoping the passive is a separate multiplier (like C4 Xingqiu) instead of the DMG bonus multiplier.

Seems like a character I might like to try, but I'm so un-excited about another character that's glued to bennet. Theres a lot more team options without bennet than there used to be but it's still quite limiting when most hypercarries, a lot of vape teams, pretty much every melt team, and also a lot of burgeon teams will all be pretty incompatable in the abyss with lyney on the other side.

Unfortunately it can never be better, unless with Lyney cons though I'm not aware if it will be better with cons, just an assumption. The only reason you'd use him over Childe is if u don't have Childe, or prefer Lyney as a character
International needs a lot of planning and artifact tuning to work due to how restricted the rotation is. Multiwave, spread out enemies, not meeting damage thresholds - all that stuff is a pain to work around.
Monopyro is braindead facerolling, at least the Klee version. You don't care about cooldowns, have more energy than you will ever need, no funneling, can straight up skip skills if you want (and don't need to spin up pyronado to kill a single random straggler), can start rooms with zero energy and be perfectly fine.
The thing is, I can't understand the Lyney hype. It's Klee, but ACTUALLY clunky this time because Klee cancels are mostly a meme (the only one in real use is N1C which is much easier than HuTao N1C), while bow CAs suck donkey balls and there's no way around them.
It's not up to Childe. It's up to Xiangling. She's BiS in all monopyro and National versions.
Childe is only BiS in one National version. Outside of it there are better candidates than him with less cooldown in dendro or electrocharge.
She's the one that really calls the shots in Xiangling International. Actually 3 of them other than Childe does. They have far more other places where they're BiS than Childe.
maybe if your mono pyro team is hyperinvested like with constellations and his bis weapon maybe even some refinements on it too. then it probably will be better than international with the same investment

I think a good rotation would be, Lyney CA*2, kazuha/sucrose/Lynette EQ, Benny EQ, xiangling EQ, and then on Lyney use burst, then 2 CA and then E. That will give you 5 stacks decently quick. I know people are going to say “won’t his stacks expire?” So lemme adress it, his skill says “all prop surplus stacks are cleared when Lyney is out of combat for 60 seconds” that’s the same thing as ittos stacks so they will stay even when swapping off Lyney.
If he doesn’t have instant charge shots he is DOA
From that clip in the leaks subreddit, It's faster than Ganyu, but slower than Tighnari after the latter uses skill.
It's still faster than Ganyu who's already out of the meta anyways, plus Fontaine is going to nudge players toward the pneumaousia system
Lyney has self healing and you can put Dehya on the team as a support, since she won't interfere with the mono pyro setup

Im conflicted on Lyney. On one had I love bow users and glass cannon characters, on the other hand I don't like how he's pretty forced into Lyney Bennet flex Anemo/Zhongli. (Also with bennet aura Lyney is gonna get one shot all the time). It's yet another bennet impact team that is reliant on Kazuha

i've been testing him, he's REALLY strong, like, stupidly strong, what i found is that he has insane nuke potential, you can run a team with mona instead of xiangling, mona as a dps that nukes into 200K+, while lyney also nukes, it's like raiden national on steroids with way better AoE potential because of kazuha (it is worse if you run freeze tho however since kazuha's on the team already i doubt someone will run freeze in the second team).
It's his most comfortable team, it's as strong as monopyro in most cases, and this team requires no stacks because it's a quickswap team, lyney allows so because his burst cooldown is surprisingly low ngl, his second best team imo is monopyro with xiangling and kazuha, it's worse because even though this team has more DMG potential, abyss isn't really for non shielded CA units, and you'll have to swap early with lyney or the enemy will knock you out which messes up your rotation (by example his tightest rotation is 1 CA at start then 3 CA after buffed with bennett if you get knocked you'll have to do 2 because if you do 3 you loose bennett's buff on burst that's what i mean), so that team IS better, on paper, but it's also harder to use without defensive utility, you can also use lynette's taunt but at that point just use lyney's quickswap with mona because there you get kazuha's better buff.
they need to change ganyu's c5 to increase the level of normal attacks instead of her skill

I wasn't initially excited for him but after his gameplay was released and he looked like Amber on steroids with superb animations I was really excited. I have actually tried to play Amber from time to time and it is very difficult to detonate Baron Bunny with her C2 with the right timing ( you have to shoot its foot D:

Pyro characters nowadays just have it so hard because of Bennett and Xiangling.
Sounds like he'll be a decent unit. Mono element team is comfy since no energy to worry about really.

I really like Lyney but not his teams. As he is the only Fontaine chatacter I really like I'm still not so certain to get him or not. I have both Kazuha and Zhongli and Benny too.

Man I was not interested in him at first but he grew on me because of his animations I wish he wasn’t just good in mono pyro

From what ive seen in leaks, he actually can use skill 2 times, one before ult and it looks like while he is in cathat form he can use skill again, even if it was on cd when he changed form.
I don't understand how someone can use Bennet with Lynney. His Burst is a cat car that you have to drive around. Bennett burst is a tiny circle. So you just burst and sit still for 4 seconds in Lynne's cat until it explodes? it doesn't sound that good honestly.
Is it ok to use my xinyan for my shield for lyney??😅
Lyney got so much stats (with his signature) that you can pretty much play him with shit artefacts with only the 4p and ATK/Pyro%/Crit that it would still be ok

Im surprised you havent accounted for the future and atleast tried to speculate a little on what synergies he could have with future characters. I am personally interested in the idea of using Lyney as a setup for some off field forward vape Action. I would like to know your opinion on this.
