I think the last question is taking the first number of each pair and seeing the mathematical difference to the next first number of a the next pair. Difference is 4, then 2, then 1, then a half. So the increase is halving each time so the next number will increase by a half of 0.5 being 0.25. 7.5 plus 0.25 = 7.75. The second number in each pair when comparing to the next number in each pair has a difference of 6, then 8, 10, 12 (ie increasing by 2 each time) so next difference is 14. 38 plus 14 = 52.

These aren't from real IQ tests. I've taken an IQ test on my highschool enterance exam, and of course that wasn't the standartized version either but I can gurantee it was much harder than this. As a rule of thumb; if you can solve it it under 5 seconds it's not a real iq test question. It takes more brain power than knowing shapes and basic mathematical operations

It required quite some mathematical knowledge and time to actually solve them at all? I would guess that the official tests would be even harder than that but.. oh well
I actually got the last one right and i'm 15, i'll explain you how: lets start with the first number (left of two), there are 0-4-6.. so its upgrade of 4-2-1-.5-.25 to 7.75. The right numbers were 2-8-16-26-38 so =+6-+8-+10+12+14 so the last one 38+14 = 52 that's why 7.75,52. But yeah, not easy one^^

Also, the answer can be interpreted as vertical stacking position: straw is above drink(noun) as food sets above plate as cup sets above table. Can someone tell me how this interpretation is wrong?
I also said Table. I reasoned that because all other words were nouns that we could assume drink was a noun. Straw to drink (utensil to liquid in cup) is to food on plate (plate being a tool/utensil, so drink being liquid and tool/utensil combined again, can’t be to cup, because “drink” already implies liquid and cup.

I absolutely love answering questions like these because to me they all seem as trick questions. I wish I could take a real IQ test. The corners and points keep ascending in value by one. The first shape has three, the second has four, the third has five, etc. The last object (arrow) has 7 corners and edges, sir.
The numbers keep adding but each time half of the previous no. gets added to it. For ex. 0 to 4 i.e 4 then to 6 which is only 2 and so on. Hence the half of 0.5 (7.5-7) being .25, this number got added.

it just indicates relationships, you use straws for more easily consuming drinks, and put food into plates, and I think you know what we use plates for. so using that logic you would not use a fork on a drink, putting liquid on a table will do you no good unless you have a cleaning fetish, and using straws on drinks has already been established so thats like saying 1,2 then suddenly you say 1 first of all not enough context and you just repeated 1, you do however use a cup for I'm. tired of writing you know what you use cups for

Sb : I remember being like 19/20 ish and I went to Walgreens for a job and back then they had the computer in the store for u to test and I took this test that appeared as an IQ test . Hey, could some help me out so I got 95 on my CAT score which I think is a British thing, basically I scored below average and I've been worried about that as I've always wanted to be good in maths but I was pretty shit in it which I think might have something thing to do with this. I have very little faith in this test but if you must know I scored 8/10 which says I am 130 - 139, I, of course, find this very difficult to believe. *My question is should I be concerned with IQ tests; and know some people will say that you should try your best which I listen to but I just want to know does this means I have to try harder than say an average European ( I am western Asain BTW. I have to argue a question couple of questions. Dumb is the odd word out. Dumb means unable to speak. Also arm to hand is trunk to branch, large to small. Fuck that last question, if you got that one you are a space alien.
The last one was fairly simple. The first number follows a rule that halves the next in the sequence (if you consider that the pattern existed before 0, it's easier to understand.), and the second digit adds 2 on top of the previous addition. Therefore what would come before the first pair we see would be (-8):(-2). I learned this sort of math sequencing in 7th or 8th grade.
These test are kinda fun, I just question some of the questions. I think that doing these tests doesn't really mean much, you get better at taking these test though.

I stopped at question 2, this is obviously an American IQ test ! I was born in 1960 in the UK. The definition of DUMB is someone who can not speak, hence the expression “ Deaf and Dumb” . Usually someone born deaf has not the capacity to learn how to speak as they obviously couldn’t hear the sound of the spoken word. However, our American cousins bastardised the word “dumb” and made it mean “stupid”. The same way they misrepresented the word BILLION , to mean a thousand million instead of its original million million. The misuse of these words over the decades has lead to a change in meaning and general acceptance of the mistake. So people like me have make allowances for Americanisms and convert what I hear them say into what they actually mean. I once watched an American take offence at someone who couldn’t hear or talk being referred to as “deaf and dumb” ( correct description) because he thought they were being called “ deaf and stupid” ! ( leave it to the Yanks to get it wrong and over react) ! Which brings me to question 2 and the reason I stopped. There were TWO words out of context, not one, so the question was invalid and therefore renders the test null and void. I rest my case m’lord !! 😂😂👀
The difference between the right side numbers is incrementing by 2 each time I.e 2 to 8 is 6, 8 to 16 is 8, 16 to 26 is 10, 26 to 38 is 12..... the next increment is 14. So the next right side is 38 + 14 = 52 The left side difference is decrementing by half each time i.e 0-4 = 4, 4-6 = 2, 6-7 = 1, 7 - 7.5 = 0.5... the next decrement is 0.25. So the next left side is 7.5 + 0.25 = 7.75 So the answer is 7.75:52
When it comes to these questions, you have to look at the difference between the numbers. This question used ratios so here's what I did. I put all of the first numbers of each ratio in a line then made a second line for the other number in the ratio; this is what it looked like: 0 4 6 7 7.5 2 8 16 26 38 I did the second line first, so it starts at 2, add 6 and u get 8, add 8 and u get 16, add 10 and u get 26, add 12 and u get 28, You can see the pattern as it goes up, starts by adding 6 and increasing by 2 each time (6,8,10,12) so next would be 14 which u would end up with 52. So the second part of the ratio would be 52. Now let's look at the first line. Starts at O and adds 4 then its 4 then add 2 which is 6 then add 1 which is 7 then add .5 which is 7.5. So look at the 4 we added in the beginning, divide that by 2 and it's 2 which is what we add after right? now divide that 2 by 2 and it gives us 1 which is what we add to get to 6. Then take that 1 and divide by 2 which is .5 which what we add to give us the 7.5. It's a pattern again, it number being added is getting smaller and smaller by being divided by 2 right? So we take our .5 divide by 2 with gives us .25. So we add that onto 7.25 and it gives us 7.75. Now we know the parts for the ratio, the answer is 7.75: 52
This was a fun little test first I got 10 questions right second time I got 9 right all but the last question I agree it basically math it larger PERSPECTIVE as well being able to see things abstractly in different ways some questions I thought to myself ok try to literally just see things for how they are don't look too deeply into the question and over analyze it like the cup question I totally understood that one question asked from bottom up from arm is too hand and another question asked it from top to bottom like from hand to arm when it said drink I at first interpreted drink to mean the whole drink as in the cup with the liquid in it but it didn't "drink" literally meant or implied the "liquid" only hence drink went to cup so I understood why I got it wrong at first also why the right answer was the right answer so aver having slightly not gonna say misunderstood but misinterpreted the question having now correctly understood the question does that mean I raised my IQ by a couple of points? I honestly have no idea i do agree with other people that there is much more to a person that a quantified #number evaluating & validating how intelligent you are i think intelligence is very difficult to quantify & at the very least is a combination of IQ, EQ, street smarts, & common sense (which isn't so common even as to say more uncommon these days & is highly undervalued, underestimated, & misunderstood) really misunderstood as to what it really means to have good common sense people over complicate it just because something is common or basic doesn't mean it's not useful it's often the most common basic tool in the tool box that is the most useful and versatile in doing & fixing a lot of these I think more people than we like to think have good common sense but don't utilize & use it nearly enough there's many different kinds of intelligence's in the world & within people just the same as the vast var6of subjects & fields of interests there are in the world right along with the vast variety of information and knowledge there is to be gained and understood by those whom are curiously interested enough in to do so. I once heard someone we'll two people in a film a woman talking to a man a doctor & biologist talking to a marine in the armed special forces & the marine said so dr reeves you have P.H.D. you're pretty smart right? She replies well smart is a relative term relative to the criteria in which you refer as in a prerequisite (basically a smartass way of saying that if someone is considered smart to you or to other people that their only perceived as smart if you consider whatever area of intelligence they happen to be smart in to be a smart subject) for example I know a considerable amount about knives and the chemistry side of it with the different steel alloys and the chemical component properties they are made up of like my favorite steel is a fairly new made only existing since 2014 a steel called H1 it's a spiderco completely rust proof not just resistant but rust proof steel hardened & tempered with liquid nitrogen instead of carbon despite it still needing some carbon to exist period cause carbon is literally within everything it's at the center of everything in the universe & on the periodic table within chemistry you can have no life of any kind anywhere anytime without carbon so second favorite to H1 is 154cm which is super great steel referred to as a super steel existed since 1970 used for jet engine turbines great steel some of the top line best super steels S30V 154cm vg-10 s35vn(combo of s30v & 154cm) D2 tool steel, just to name a few it's wonderful great knowledge very useful in knowing what are great quality knives and blades vs crappy cheap knives also knowing the true $ value of knives not being suckered into buying a knife that's way overpriced or being jipped sold shot of a knife that you might be trying to sell that is worth way more that someone is trying to convince you it is basically not being suckered in and played for a fool but to some people no matter how much I explain or how much I water down or dimdowm the subject to some people I'm basically speaking jibberish whatever I say about the subject is at best misunderstood or completely foreign & goes right in one ear and out the other so many people just don't or can't understand some truly can't are incapable of understanding I guess and others just don't want to and see it all as useless boring even waste of time to them what I consider to be a very interesting and intelligent subject others see as useless pointless unintelligent exercise in futility so hence intelligence in to some degree relative & a matter of perspective so perspective and perception along with an open mind curiosity and a willingness to learn are all the most important qualities in being smart or trying to become smart also remember intelligence and wisdom are two very different things intelligence is understanding information and wisdom is the correct use of that information only acquired through experience and time and experience is always absolutely the best teacher ever and there is no knowledge that is not power; knowledge is power. For me one of the greatest pleasures and joy is learning not taking for granted having the ability to learn and knowing there is this while gigantic huge wonderous & mysterious universe and world full of wonders to be discovered studied things to be understood I've heard others say understanding is the boobie/fake price of life and that it's cheap and a waste of time I fully disagree and think it's a complete insult to the human intellect and the mysterious wonders of the universe that's just ripe with things to be discovered understanding as many mysteries as we possibly can is the whole point of life and especially science in my opinion that very notion is one major factor in inspiring and motivating me to want to strive to live life and try to enjoy it as much as possible even with all it's mystery and uncertainty I used to hate uncertainty and risk it nothing ventured nothing gained and much of the time asking questions searching for answers is more fun exciting that getting the answers it's all about how exciting the journey of the whole of life is rather than just the destination enjoy and embrace the journey that's true intelligence I think cause the key is think if only more people would really think!

This is what I don't understand about IQ, It measures cognitive ability? critical thinking? I guess?.... But does it measure work ethic, enthusiasm, focus, compassion, humor, accountability? the true things that lead to success..... Maybe it does?
Why would an IQ test measure those things? Not sure why you'd conflate the two as if they are related at all, they aren't. Perhaps your thinking of 'personality' and 'empathy' tests?
IQ is nothing about those. You don't need to be a nice , slave-like person to be good. If you're simply smart then you'll realise these things don't matter.
It doesn't matter to me. I make up for my low IQ by working hard and not sweating the details of any given problem. If a human is a dumb ass, they simply have to hire somebody smarter to do the job. Problem solved. It's obviously working for Trump.

I absolutely love answering questions like these because to me they all seem as trick questions. I wish I could take a real IQ test. For some reason even when I was in college I never had an IQ test to enjoy taking. Im very eager to know if questions as these are the way a real IQ test play out. Good job everyone. The numbers keep adding but each time half of the previous no. gets added to it. For ex. 0 to 4 i.e 4 then to 6 which is only 2 and so on. Hence the half of 0.5 (7.5-7) being .25, this number got added.

Mad Llama first add 6 to2 then add 8 to 8 the 10 to 16 and 12 to 26 simply add 2 more everytime. The next comes 0 add 4 to it then half 4 you get 2 and add 2 to 4 then half 2 you get 1 add it to 7 ,same way go on and at last u will add 0.25 to 7.5 .

it just indicates relationships, you use straws for more easily consuming drinks, and put food into plates, and I think you know what we use plates for. so using that logic you would not use a fork on a drink, putting liquid on a table will do you no good unless you have a cleaning fetish, and using straws on drinks has already been established so thats like saying 1,2 then suddenly you say 1 first of all not enough context and you just repeated 1, you do however use a cup for I'm. tired of writing you know what you use cups for

Sb : I remember being like 19/20 ish and I went to Walgreens for a job and back then they had the computer in the store for u to test and I took this test that appeared as an IQ test . I literally got everything right & they didn’t hire me which was awkward af. At that point I felt like the world was crooked but my mom told me maybe they thought I was over qualified. Hey, could some help me out so I got 95 on my CAT score which I think is a British thing, basically I scored below average and I've been worried about that as I've always wanted to be good in maths but I was pretty shit in it which I think might have something thing to do with this. I have very little faith in this test but if you must know I scored 8/10 which says I am 130 - 139, I, of course, find this very difficult to believe. *My question is should I be concerned with IQ tests; and know some people will say that you should try your best which I listen to but I just want to know does this means I have to try harder than say an average European ( I am western Asain BTW. I have to argue a question couple of questions. Dumb is the odd word out. Dumb means unable to speak. Also arm to hand is trunk to branch, large to small. Fuck that last question, if you got that one you are a space alien.
Branch to Leaf , is large to small. Dumb, 1)mute 2) stupid, you are right and wrong on that one.
The last one was fairly simple. The first number follows a rule that halves the next in the sequence (if you consider that the pattern existed before 0, it's easier to understand.), and the second digit adds 2 on top of the previous addition. Therefore what would come before the first pair we see would be (-8):(-2). I learned this sort of math sequencing in 7th or 8th grade.

I was born in 1960 in the UK. The definition of DUMB is someone who can not speak, hence the expression “ Deaf and Dumb” . Usually someone born deaf has not the capacity to learn how to speak as they obviously couldn’t hear the sound of the spoken word.
However, our American cousins bastardised the word “dumb” and made it mean “stupid”. The same way they misrepresented the word BILLION , to mean a thousand million instead of its original million million. The misuse of these words over the decades has lead to a change in meaning and general acceptance of the mistake. So people like me have make allowances for Americanisms and convert what I hear them say into what they actually mean. I once watched an American take offence at someone who couldn’t hear or talk being referred to as “deaf and dumb” ( correct description) because he thought they were being called “ deaf and stupid” ! ( leave it to the Yanks to get it wrong and over react) ! Which brings me to question 2 and the reason I stopped. There were TWO words out of context, not one, so the question was invalid and therefore renders the test null and void. I rest my case m’lord !! 😂😂👀

The difference between the right side numbers is incrementing by 2 each time I.e 2 to 8 is 6, 8 to 16 is 8, 16 to 26 is 10, 26 to 38 is 12..... the next increment is 14. So the next right side is 38 + 14 = 52
The left side difference is decrementing by half each time i.e 0-4 = 4, 4-6 = 2, 6-7 = 1, 7 - 7.5 = 0.5... the next decrement is 0.25. So the next left side is 7.5 + 0.25 = 7.75
So the answer is 7.75:52

When it comes to these questions, you have to look at the difference between the numbers. This question used ratios so here's what I did. I put all of the first numbers of each ratio in a line then made a second line for the other number in the ratio; this is what it looked like:
0 4 6 7 7.5
2 8 16 26 38
I did the second line first, so it starts at 2, add 6 and u get 8, add 8 and u get 16, add 10 and u get 26, add 12 and u get 28, You can see the pattern as it goes up, starts by adding 6 and increasing by 2 each time (6,8,10,12) so next would be 14 which u would end up with 52. So the second part of the ratio would be 52.
Now let's look at the first line. Starts at O and adds 4 then its 4 then add 2 which is 6 then add 1 which is 7 then add .5 which is 7.5. So look at the 4 we added in the beginning, divide that by 2 and it's 2 which is what we add after right? now divide that 2 by 2 and it gives us 1 which is what we add to get to 6. Then take that 1 and divide by 2 which is .5 which what we add to give us the 7.5. It's a pattern again, it number being added is getting smaller and smaller by being divided by 2 right? So we take our .5 divide by 2 with gives us .25. So we add that onto 7.25 and it gives us 7.75.
Now we know the parts for the ratio, the answer is 7.75: 52

This was a fun little test first I got 10 questions right second time I got 9 right all but the last question I agree it basically math it larger PERSPECTIVE as well being able to see things abstractly in different ways some questions I thought to myself ok try to literally just see things for how they are don't look too deeply into the question and over analyze it like the cup question I totally understood that one question asked from bottom up from arm is too hand and another question asked it from top to bottom like from hand to arm when it said drink I at first interpreted drink to mean the whole drink as in the cup with the liquid in it but it didn't "drink" literally meant or implied the "liquid" only hence drink went to cup so I understood why I got it wrong at first also why the right answer was the right answer so aver having slightly not gonna say misunderstood but misinterpreted the question having now correctly understood the question does that mean I raised my IQ by a couple of points? I honestly have no idea i do agree with other people that there is much more to a person that a quantified #number evaluating & validating how intelligent you are i think intelligence is very difficult to quantify & at the very least is a combination of IQ, EQ, street smarts, & common sense (which isn't so common even as to say more uncommon these days & is highly undervalued, underestimated, & misunderstood) really misunderstood as to what it really means to have good common sense people over complicate it just because something is common or basic doesn't mean it's not useful it's often the most common basic tool in the tool box that is the most useful and versatile in doing & fixing a lot of these I think more people than we like to think have good common sense but don't utilize & use it nearly enough there's many different kinds of intelligence's in the world & within people just the same as the vast var6of subjects & fields of interests there are in the world right along with the vast variety of information and knowledge there is to be gained and understood by those whom are curiously interested enough in to do so. I once heard someone we'll two people in a film a woman talking to a man a doctor & biologist talking to a marine in the armed special forces & the marine said so dr reeves you have P.H.D. you're pretty smart right? She replies well smart is a relative term relative to the criteria in which you refer as in a prerequisite (basically a smartass way of saying that if someone is considered smart to you or to other people that their only perceived as smart if you consider whatever area of intelligence they happen to be smart in to be a smart subject) for example I know a considerable amount about knives and the chemistry side of it with the different steel alloys and the chemical component properties they are made up of like my favorite steel is a fairly new made only existing since 2014 a steel called H1 it's a spiderco completely rust proof not just resistant but rust proof steel hardened & tempered with liquid nitrogen instead of carbon despite it still needing some carbon to exist period cause carbon is literally within everything it's at the center of everything in the universe & on the periodic table within chemistry you can have no life of any kind anywhere anytime without carbon so second favorite to H1 is 154cm which is super great steel referred to as a super steel existed since 1970 used for jet engine turbines great steel some of the top line best super steels S30V 154cm vg-10 s35vn(combo of s30v & 154cm) D2 tool steel, just to name a few it's wonderful great knowledge very useful in knowing what are great quality knives and blades vs crappy cheap knives also knowing the true $ value of knives not being suckered into buying a knife that's way overpriced or being jipped sold shot of a knife that you might be trying to sell that is worth way more that someone is trying to convince you it is basically not being suckered in and played for a fool but to some people no matter how much I explain or how much I water down or dimdowm the subject to some people I'm basically speaking jibberish whatever I say about the subject is at best misunderstood or completely foreign & goes right in one ear and out the other so many people just don't or can't understand some truly can't are incapable of understanding I guess and others just don't want to and see it all as useless boring even waste of time to them what I consider to be a very interesting and intelligent subject others see as useless pointless unintelligent exercise in futility so hence intelligence in to some degree relative & a matter of perspective so perspective and perception along with an open mind curiosity and a willingness to learn are all the most important qualities in being smart or trying to become smart also remember intelligence and wisdom are two very different things intelligence is understanding information and wisdom is the correct use of that information only acquired through experience and time and experience is always absolutely the best teacher ever and there is no knowledge that is not power; knowledge is power. For me one of the greatest pleasures and joy is learning not taking for granted having the ability to learn and knowing there is this while gigantic huge wonderous & mysterious universe and world full of wonders to be discovered studied things to be understood I've heard others say understanding is the boobie/fake price of life and that it's cheap and a waste of time I fully disagree and think it's a complete insult to the human intellect and the mysterious wonders of the universe that's just ripe with things to be discovered understanding as many mysteries as we possibly can is the whole point of life and especially science in my opinion that very notion is one major factor in inspiring and motivating me to want to strive to live life and try to enjoy it as much as possible even with all it's mystery and uncertainty I used to hate uncertainty and risk it nothing ventured nothing gained and much of the time asking questions searching for answers is more fun exciting that getting the answers it's all about how exciting the journey of the whole of life is rather than just the destination enjoy and embrace the journey that's true intelligence I think cause the key is think if only more people would really think!
