Hello, great vids! I’m really inspired to get back on the field after a 20+ year absence since moving away from the coast. A quick question (as things have moved on a bit) if you could answer I’d really appreciate it!. What lead link should I be using? I’ve done some tensile tests on my fishing setup (testing shock leaders break point and knot strength) and find the cox & Rawle size medium quick link clip stretch out at 23kg/50lb. So I need a rethink. Keep up the good work pal. Cheers
Thank you. I have been using Inova Rhino clips the 35kg size 4 ones. If I can get them I would probably use dexter qf links again, the larger size but they dont seem to make them anymore. The inova clips are good provided the hole in the lead loop is a decent size. If its too small they tend to twist a bit and need to throw out clip. Buy 1 packet and try them out. The clips fit thru the rings too so dont have to keep cutting them off after each session. Mustad hawiian snaps with easy link are good too size 3 but are a bit more expensive.
It may well do Im not 100% sure. Theres a few people think the recovery of the rod doesnt even add to the lead speed cause if you watch super slo motions the lead is on its way and the rod is still bent
Hi Mr Steve, I've got a question, I'm using AFAW match Pro but in every ring they don't bind it,, if I went to bind on every ring, will it makes my rod stiff and would it be better for casting? Regards ewan from Singapore
@@djrmonix the thread thingy that usually a custom rod builder put on every under of the ring, maybe I can send u pictures for clearer explanation, can I have ur email if u don't mind or number
Awesome, looking forward to part 2!
Loved this ultima for me every time

djrmonix thank you very much for the comprehensive info. I’ll get some ordered. Best wishes
Asso Ultraflex 70lb does the job for me! Lovely stuff
If the leader has a little bit of stretch, does that not at the point of release of the lead, put a bit more inertia into the lead?

Hello, I was searching your videos but I see that you did not upload part 2. Did you come to any conclusion regarding this matter?
Useful and interesting video!
Great video Stevie keep it up mate
Yes its matter, the idea is load the rod not the shockleader.
