- Video clips of some of the glorious beaches of Barbados..The camera shake on the high shots is due to the beautiful warm breeze that blows in from the ocean.....If you don't like the Oistins clip, hang on in there...It lasts around 40 seconds..then it's back to beaches. The background music is 'Yellow Bird' played by Kent Arnsbarger.
i live here and was born here also , have visited other places but this is my first choice i love barbados

I can't help you with other Caribbean islands as I've only been to Barbados, but all the beaches I have visited on the west coast, not the Atlantic side, have really calm waters..J

This island has a lot to offer beaches are just part of it. I've been to about 6 islands in the Caribbean and must say that Barbados is the most complete island experience for me. A lot of history, island is not tiny and not too big car is highly recommended. Barbados are primarily middle class not wealthy but not poor either. This island also has many very classy places.
...The gentle breeze from the Caribbean Sea keeps you cool in the warm sunshine.. The Bajan people must be among the most friendly and welcoming in the World.. You can roam the island unaccompanied in complete safety.. The sea is warm, the locally brewed beer is cold and delicious!!.. The national drink is Rum Punch.. It's perfect...

We rented a car and went all over the island, it was beautiful away from the beaches, especially the highlands, Cherry Hill, the gardens, the abbey, the mills... Maybe I'll get round to editing my video of not-beaches and put it up here.

If you can swim well, the waves on Crane are great to ‘play’ in..The ‘icing on the cake’ at the Crane ( in my opinion) is the Gospel Breakfast’ in the restaurant on Sunday mornings.. A great buffet breakfast with a gospel choir singing in the background.. Amazing!!
@@johnrees44..G4EIJ I grew up in Miami Beach Florida & I dive I still got rolled body surfing. The waves can be strong. My husband is from there he always jumps off the cliff. I see the hotel property has gotten so big. I would love to have a place. Lately I watch the you tube videos on homes in Barbados . I always loved the statue by the cliff . Next time I’m there I will have to try the breakfast . Take care

If you really want to experience the Gospel Breakfast, you must contact the Crane a few weeks before your preferred date as they are booked well in advance.. Hope you get to see it ..JR

Hi... Plenty of buses and taxis down the busy west and south coast, but a car is useful to explore the quieter parts of the island.. You will miss out if you don't explore.. First time there we took 'Ted's Tour' for an overview, then hired a car.. Perfect.. Roads leave a lot to be desired, but it's worth it.. J

Going back to Beautiful Barbados in January my second visit in three years. The koolest people in the Caribbean. Imagine sitting in your car reading one the local newspapers, and at least 50 total strangers say good morning. Unreal,really. On this trip I'll be looking for A home..see/ ya.

was there 4 my 50th b/day back in 2013 stayed 4 a whole a wk while i was there i met a beautiful bajan name crystal she was the hostess at the resort { turtle beach }she n i keep in touch the island & the bajans are awesome i will be returning if you happen to be a diver make sure you get in a few b4 leaving the isle hope you have as much of a good time as i did

Hi Elena...you're welcome.. It's only my view, but I believe that most beaches on the west (Caribbean Sea)side are swimmable, but some of the ones on the east(Atlantic) side do have strong currents and powerful waves, but that might be too much of a generalisation, and locals might have a different view, so don't take my word for it! Glad you liked the video.. It's by far my favourite place to visit, and there is much more to the island than what my video shows.. In my experience, there is a wind, but it is usually very welcome to take the edge off the heat.. Kind regards.. John

Fantastic video! Is there a need for a rental car if staying in Hilton Bridgetown to really experience Barbados or is there plenty in walking distance/taxis to other beaches? Thank you!
It's best to rent a car makes life a lot easier Barbados is small but transportation is a must if you want to get around with out stressing there's lots to enjoy..and by the way Hilton is a great choice there's a few good beaches close by pebbles, grand barbsdos, burkes, Brown's, carliese bay, hope you have a wonderful time... i grew ten minutes away a place called the bayland
Hi John, thank you for sharing, I see that the current in most beaches is strond, one would have to be a great swimmer to go in or I am wrong? also is it windy everyday? I was in Aruba and it was really windy!!!!

..not my experience.. By definition, a ghetto is an 'overcrowded slum'.. Outside of the beaches, I do not see overcrowded slums..I see traditional Bajan villages and dwellings..inhabited by traditionally happy and friendly Bajans... Sorry you have not seen that also.

If you were from Trinidad, you would know that no Trini would refer to the music as 'STEEL DRUM MUSIC'. It is 'Pan' or 'Steel Pan', definitely not steel drum music.
Take a look at Laventille, Sea Lots and Beetham Gardens in Trinidad. Google both...I'm positive you'll no longer be calling parts of Barbados a Ghetto or Shanty Town. This is not an attack on Trinidad as my family are from both islands, however your comments are highly annoying, if not ignorant!

everyone only showing the beaches.. yes the beaches are awesome, the people are social and friendly, food is tasty outside of the beach the place is a dump..it looks like a ghetto, run down shanty town, everything is expensive and over priced
..why are re you not telling the truth about barbados?
