Best 400K I spend all week. Still a bit new @ pking but a b s o l u t e l y love the wilderness. Best time I've ever had in any game ever. I really don't get why not more ppl like doing this. Literally just turn on the player indicator plugin and toggle it for PvP and any time you're in a PvP area every single player will have an indicator over them, not only is it impossible to be skull tricked but now they also have to log in and attack you the absolute second you leave combat which is incredibly unlikely. If they show up just pop on protect mage and auto retaliate, use Eek or a saradomin brew to make sure you don't kill the mob, then close your game client and you'll automatically log out in 1 minute.

I feel like I recently heard that skull tricking is against the rules. Which I hope doesn't apply to this sorta thing because it's great. Plus, if they have the skull protection on, they're safe so idk why skull tricking should be against the rules. My take is, if you have the skull prevention off, you're as good as skulled.
Pre skull prevention skulling was seen as incredibly scummy as there was no system in place to ensure that the person you're clicking on is the person actually attacking you, so if you were a PvMer who based their equipment around being unskulled you basically were forced to either hide your attack options, only auto retaliate which completely negates the possibility of actually doing anything to a PKer, or having to differentiate Between iiiiiliiliiiiili and iiiiiiiliiiliili every single time you clicked back on your opponent or simply accept that any multi-target attack or a single misclick was going to skull you and potentially risk millions orhundreds of millions of GP.
The players dressing up as battle mages or earth warriors were never really the crux of the issue though, the real complaints about skull tricking stemmed from the clans who would find a PvMer and use multiple accounts with near identical names to deceive them into skulling, and then they'd pile them in multi with smite or something similar, and in PvP worlds people would log in on top of loot piles people were spam clicking and rush them with max gear, the problem PKers weren't the goofy guys dressing up as Chaos Druids but the repeat offenders who would skull trick 24/7 with their clan and generally make the wilderness a steaming pile of shit.
So basically everybody who wasn't a skull tricker themselves thought that Skull tricking was at the bare minimum, cowardly, and Jagex started considering skull tricking as scamming. Nowadays it's purely the fault of the person who forgot to turn skull prevention on, it's really no different than forgetting to protect item, but the history behind skull tricking is the reason why it is/was considered scamming, it's not a recent addition to the rules it's actually quite a few years old AFAIK.
P.S I don't think anybody has been banned for skull tricking because it very vaguely falls under the umbrella of "Misdirecting a player to lose items of value they were not expecting to lose".
Extorting Hardcore ironmen for GP in return for their life though is pretty explicitly against the rules on Jagex's website.
