Cedars will die odd due to the nitrogen produced by the grass , trees genuine interest is acidic soil .add mulch and Try replanting them 15 feet from each other or have them altering so you could essentially have a mature grass wall and a private atv path between ciders
It is recommended (in the UK) to let it stand over the winter, then cut down early spring when new shoots start coming from the ground. It can either be left in place to break down naturally or be composted. Note that there are numerous stories of this grass being flammable, so if bush fires etc are an issue for you, don't plant it.
This is a fantastic forage for the sheep and goats.
do the grass wither after several months or do they stay green and grow much taller even after many years. I plan to use it as a gate hedge
Great job. May i know the yield in tons per acre per harvest. How many months to harvest.
Do they do well in winter ?
We were curious if your white cedar might be interfering with the miscanthus. Cedar traditionally kills off other plants near it.
So far they haven't .. both the cedar trees and miscanthus are thriving.

Considering that the grass loves moisture, those cedar trees look like they will be competing for moisture? Why are they so close to each other?
Thank you for the video, I just planted some tonight
from seed how tall will they grow in a season?
They grow from rhizomes only. Usually 4-5’ the first year.
So how do you grow it?
From rhizomes.
Thanks!
The stocks you shot in this video are extremely thin at the plant base, highly unusual for miscanthus giganteus. I like the white cedars.
I think they’re just dry, late season and only 2 year old, I bet they don’t look like this now
So you cut this grass down every winter?
Its not recommended you cut it down the first year... the following years you can if you want to. If not it'll just brown and crumble down by itself

It will take 6mos to prepare expansion new planting Sir?
@@EdenGreenFarmandAdventures you can cut it after 4 months. They use this grass in India and other countries as feed for the cows along with alfalfa.
That doesn't look like 10-12 feet tall. Your ATV is half the height, that's at most 3 ft tall.
Believe me they are.. a few weeks after I shot this video, they over 12 feet I could not reach with my hand to the top of the grass
Yes I see the area over my ATV now, but that area caught up quickly also and as I said in the video some areas were behind in growth
Seems like this is an update less than a tutorial. Misleading and a waste of time to watch if your actually wanting to learn 🙃
