That kid Talkin at the 3-minute Mark doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground, these cars are getting rarer and rarer and there's plenty of aftermarket support to bring these cars back... my floorboards in my 69 were much worse and I completely replaced them the correct way, along with through the floor frame connectors and as far as the rot on the front frame is concerned oh, those are available in the aftermarket too... they know that, but this is just stupid drama to draw up ratings

I'm a professional builder. Currently building two 1st gen firebirds. Both will be supercharged lt-4 powered. One convertable one hardtop. Any and ALL parts can be purchased for these for the most part. Far fewer than camaros too. And they have a better look to them. Im in wisconsin and the cars these guys think are bad..... lmfao. This is the second clip I've seen of this show (ever) and it's just infuriating. I feel like every situation could easily be resolved with...
    1. Doing a proper inspection before purchasing a car. I've owned multiple older sports cars from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, and that's like buying 101. You go over the car with a fine tooth comb or have a buyer's inspection. You don't just buy a classic car with no thorough inspection. That's the first rule!
    2. Again, why are you setting up deadlines BEFORE a thorough inspection? That's like saying "Yeah, I walked around your basement for 5 min and think I can do a complete remodel in exactly 45 days on the day of your open house." No, you inspect things, look for hidden damage, or go over everything carefully and THEN give an estimated deadline that could likely change. The way the shop is doing it is only going to set them up for failure. This is the second time I've seen this happen with these clips (first was a Pantera). It's infuriating at this point because it's such an easily solvable problem.

The structural integrity of a convertible doesn't rely on the floor. It relies on the rocker panels. What a bunch of dopes. As much money as that thief has screwed people out of through the years, he can afford to just crush it and eat the loss. And putting a timeline on a build is just TV drama.

Haven't restored a GM muscle car in ten years that didn't need 85% new sheetmetal. Guess the audience is always hopeful they find one that doesn't become a donor. But that doesn't sell ads on TV. Gas Monkey is not in the restoration buisness. It's a Hot Rod shop.
Yes you can rebuild a car from a couple of screws.
The only show where there was no bs was FantomWorks. Ground up frame off total rebuild. Two years.
Richard does not have two years.
One the deadline for the builds is 27 days to be able to make the required episodes. Richard sold the show based on a certain number of episodes and production schedules meant a new project done and sold by a deadline.
Need money coming in to pay for the parts for the next project.
Self imposed but the Garage is only part of the parent company.
Vendors expect to be paid. Payroll has to be met.
Take a straight car juice it, paint and tires and flip inna month.
Richard can not wait two years.
Counts Kustoms is a restoration buisness. Fab shop, bike shop, upholstery, stereo etc.
Now a custom build for a client takes what it takes.
The purpose of a flip is to keep the lights on make payroll and buy parts for custom builds.

Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by
reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated
central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down
all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From
2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as
exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox
oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no

When will you people realize that Aaron left Pilgram Media aka Discovery. He was off of Richards payroll the whole time they were filming. You idiots think Aaron left Richard. What happened when Richard and Discovery parted ways???? All of the Mechanics left because without a show there is no payroll for all of those guys. Richard had Zero control if Aaron stayed or left. The funniest part is everyone thinks it was a real shop. It was only a real shop for TV.

When someone is dumb enough to buy a vehicle from this place, they are paying more for the car because of the gallons of bondo that's applied to the metal. The owner should take the title of this car, then drive the vehicle to a Cat Brand professional calibrated weight scale, and see the weight difference between the factory weight on the title, and the weight of the car after it leaves Gas Monkey Garage. No doubt there will be a significant weight difference between the weight numbers. The actual workers in the shop really know their trade, but the owner Richard Rawlings, is a real con man. A snake oil salesman. I would rather buy something from Mr. Haney of the Green Acres TV show, than a dog house from Richard Rawlings. He gives true vehicle restoration shop owners a real bad reputation. As the saying goes:
BUYER BEWARE. Especially when you buy ANYTHING from Richard Rawlings. Even a pencil.
