Thank you! I've taken the Motocompacto apart several times. If a screw did vibrate loose, it was probably because I didn't tighten it down all the way. I also noticed the case started to separate right below the headlight. I was able to push on it and snap it back into place. Other than that, its solid! Maybe to solid, lol.
Thank You! I made a little Solar Wagon to pull behind the MotoCompacto. My goal is to continuously drive for 200 miles without stopping to charge. Wish me luck!
Been using this video as a reference to my friends interested in getting one of these in regards to the durability and possibilities of hot-swappable battery mods for these scooters. Thank you for the efforts in producing this video!
Thank you! I was going to make a video explaining how to add or swap aftermarket batteries, but my OEM battery just bricked itself for whatever reason. In order for the aftermarket batteries to work, I would first need to power cycle the Compacto on and off using the OEM battery. If you did not do this, you would get the PR72 battery communication error. Since the battery issue, Im now able to just start the Compacto on the aftermarket batteries alone. The OEM battery has power, its just not coming out of the MT60 cable. I need to figure out what is exactly happening before I make a video on it. :) I'm planning for a trip to Indiana and back which I will try to complete 200 miles in one day. This may or may not involve a solar panel trailer to continuously charge the Compacto while driving. No wasted time charging...
@@HondaFit4Adventure Have you figured out how to eliminate the OEM battery? I am using an aftermarket battery standalone, but the compacto won't get out of the slow low-power mode.
thx for sharing the adventure! glad to hear you made it out safely and the vehicle is able to withstand being pushed to the limits. Hopefully the vehicle is still good in the future!
Thank you. I'm not going to lie, an ebike is faster and cheaper, but I am a big Honda Fan so I bought this. I purchased a seatpost with built in shock. Now I can have a cushy seat with shock absorbers :) I'm currently scouting out my next adventure. Chicago to Indiana, which is 160 miles round trip. I turned one of those bicycle carriers for kids into a little solar trailer. I should be able to charge up my empty batteries while riding, so less down time.
Thank you. I'd consider myself middle-aged, lol. In my younger years, I drove a 50cc Honda Ruckus to Canada. Great news! "115 Miles on a Motocompacto - Illinois to Indiana" should be out in a day or two.
Bro, I just made it to the Indiana boarder and currently charging at a subway. 🤣 I was going tonride all the way up to GridLife but no one confirmed that they were going, so it's just to Indiana and back for the day.
Haha, looks like perpetual range anxiety. Would one of those portable power stations like a Jackery be feasible for charging one battries while riding?
I recently bought a bicycle trailer to put a DIY power station on the inside and a solar panel on the top. Lets go 200 miles! Thank you for the trailer recommendations.
Hey dude, would you recommend this for someone who needs a mobility vehicle for everyday things? I was unfortunately told by my orthopedic surgeon that I should walk as little as possible each day because of arthritis. I like the minimal footprint of this little thing, but I'm concerned about its comfort for daily use.
Definitely not. It sits comfortably, but there is no suspension and the tires are made of solid rubber. You will feel every bump, especially when cruising down the sidewalks. Here's another one of my scooter adventures that goes through the city. It can get pretty rough. ruclips.net/video/6a8Ha7bwXYo/видео.html
What trail was that? I kice near the end of the fox river where it dumps into the Illinois river in ottawa.wish we could ride our scooters on the canal
It's the Illinois Prairie Trail or "Prairie Path Bicycle Trail" I think it ends an hour east from Ottawa. I've been using this website/app to plan my next adventure using the bike paths. www.traillink.com/stateactivity/il-bike-trails/
@@HondaFit4Adventure it ends right in ottawa,I went to hi school there where they met.here,we arent allowed to have electric bikes on that canal road.the canal road ends in LaSalle
I own two Motocompactos. The high milage tire still looks very similar to the other Motocompacto that I just ride at work. My 115 mile adventure is currently uploading.
Considering you needed your phone in your hand for most the trip it might have been easier on you to have made or put a mount on the handlebars for it. That being said I'm sure this was a cumbersome trip considering I'm sure these bikes arnt ment for it. Nice to see someone make a video to highlight its capabilities. Also I didn't know aftermarket batteries where a thing for these yet. I've been contemplating getting one for shi#s and gigs, well see.

Just watched this again with my kid, he was like “Oof, ow, that looks fucking awful!” Also, “that’s cool, whoa, is he going to ride back in the DARK!?” Great video. We should meet up for some camping. Maybe in the UP or something.
Lol, you spoke too soon. I've encountered several errors after filming this video. ER72 Battery communication error. Battery cable got pinched and shorted. ER71 Motor communication error. One of the plugs on the motor controller vibrated loose. At least I was able to fix the issues. I'm going to try for 200 miles in one day later this summer. I will be using a trailer with a solar panel to help keep the stationary charge times down.
Mostly yes. There was one or two times I had to assist it up a steep hill. @6:37 The seat is fairly comfortable, but the MotoCompacto could use some suspension.
Hi Daniel. The plan was to drive from Illinois to Wisconsin and back stopping every 15miles or so to charge up. Even with the gravel affecting the battery range, I still should've had enough power in the aftermarket batteries to get back to the McHenery charge point, if I didn't let the OEM battery die first. Now that I know the scooter wont recognize the aftermarket batteries without the OEM battery, I wont accidentally put my self in that situation again. I recently rode 115 miles with no issues at all. ruclips.net/video/6a8Ha7bwXYo/видео.htmlsi=bhEGoRxWyM2LIM2Q

I think Richmond was the worse.
The horses tear up the trail pretty bad, making it extra bumpy on those gravel sections.
