This is the opening ceremony for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World! The land officially opens on August 29th, 2019. The ceremony features Hondo Ohnaka, Chewbacca, BB-8, R2-D2 and Chairman of Parks, Experiences and Products Bob Chapek.

Every single Hondo video has had someone comment this. It’s objectively wrong, he’s based on characters played by Eli Wallace and a few characters from samurai movies

Where is George Lucas, Harrison Ford etc ?? Do they not care about the opening in WDW as much as Disneyland??
More likely, they had scheduling conflicts and couldnt show up. Lucas is making a multi-billion dollar film museum, and Ford is still working on movies.

Or its set in the new trilogy, because thats what is being produced right now. If they ever go back to making OT era stuff, they will probably bring them back. They chose to make a new planet for the purpose of being adaptable to what is selling.
