Ehhh I feel like their advice is mostly for beginners. Cause most people are beginners! And it’s smart business and helps a lot of people. But to me once you get advanced in strength and athleticism realms there are better places to go
I feel like a Gym Bro whenever people ask “what should I be doing to see results because you’ve been looking good” my response is always “eat about a gram of protein per target body weight, and be consistent in the gym, and listen to Mind Pump.” I can’t thank you enough for all the change you guys have made in my life! Hope my comments and likes keep boosting your algorithm!
I don't know how you guys manage to keep drilling home the same fitness points podcast after podcast, without being boring or seemingly repetitive, but I'm dang grateful for it.
Its awesome when you guys talk about the same subject but somehow manage to add something new and helpful regarding that matter. We thanks you for always improving and helping also us improving!
The ole steak and eggs routine can accomplish all our goals it seems. My wife has issues with protein shakes and digestion so I jokingly suggested blending up some cooked chicken as a smoothie. She was not amused. 😅
Hey y’all! I’m from Nashville TN, I’m 33 and weigh 240. I’ve been listening to y’all for the past year and absolutely love what you put out. It’s helped me in so many ways! A year ago I had really let myself go and got up to 250 but completely out of shape with a belly and titties. I’ve consistently been working out for at-least 3 days a week for the past year and really focusing on eating healthy but also consuming enough calories to get my metabolism going. I didn’t notice how strong over the past year I had gotten until I decided to do a burn out on squat and bench. I squatted 315 28 times and benched 225 22 times. A loose and gain weight a lot every year, just 3 years ago I got down to 200 pounds only doing cardio and beach body programs. I’ve got my muscle up tremendously and really want to see what I can do over the next year keeping it while loosing my fat. I think ideally 220-225 would be a perfect weight for me. I’ve slimmed down to 240 and see major improvement in the waist, my face and belly a lot without really counting calories, I just kind of ate wisely. I’d say I was eating around 3,000 calories a day. I just paid a year subscription for the calorie tracker My Fitness Pall and scaled my calories down to 2,340. Im really wanting to slim down for my cruise in October and have 4 months to do it. I would love to try your maps anabolic and also convert the mother of my child to listen to y’all. We currently do Autumn’s 21 day fix from beach body and have done it on and off for a long time. I’m really curious to see if we get better results with your program! Hopefully I get lucky enough to get picked. Keep doing what y’all do and I’ll continue to tune in every morning on the way to work for yalls advice 🙌🏽
Army service member from Germany! We have never been in better shape just following all the advises and some maps programming! Love the integrity of the program and the facts backed by credible data sources 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Hey what’s up Mind Pump, I’m a new listener and I can’t tell enough friends and family about your channel. It’s inspired me to get back into being a coach again… this time armed 💪🏼 with more knowledge than ever thanks to you all! Thank you 🙏 so much. Keep rocking it out guys! 👊🏻
It's funny how not so far ago everybody was talking about ads and articles in muscle magazines from 90's, that were pushing the notion that you need more amount of protein, being absurd and now it comes back as a legit strategy to build your physique.
So I was planning to go to the gym early today, it's Saturday i have the day off of work, i hopeed i could go and ripe the benefits of weight lifting early in the day. But i woke up really really out of shape, it appears i had a poor night sleep, only two hours of deep sleep and 40 minutes Rem out of almost 8 hours total. Long story short I don't have the energy to go, and i felt really guilty about it, but when I heard Adam explaining how he couldn't train because his energy and stamina was off, I felt slightly better. So Thank you guys for everything, you are making my fitness journey alot more enjoyable and valuable.
Hello Mind Pump, I've recently found your channel and podcast and have been enjoying your content! You guys have really helped me out in my training and performance! Every video I have watched has helped me both in the gym and out in life. Keep up the great work!
I swear it doesn’t matter how many shows I listen to I always walk away with more knowledge about health and fitness then I knew coming into the episode. Thanks for y’all the content.
This is the greatest podcast! You can learn about fitness, fatherhood advice, current news, and hear some jokes. No other podcast I've found is as entertaining or informative. Thank you guys and your families at home who let you have time to do this!
Arnold truly is an inspiration, and as Sal mentioned, the epitome of an immigrant achieving the American Dream. That’s why it was so heartbreaking to hear him say “screw your freedom” when people were resisting the ridiculous ‘Rona restrictions. Nobody’s perfect. 🤷🏻♂️
Winner Winner! Please email Ann ann@mindpumpmedia.com with a screenshot of your youtube username, winning episode number, and the email address you would like the program under and we will get you hooked up!
Perfect 👌 31 days into my cut and down 10lbs using 40% protein, 35% carbs and 25% fat. Usually get around 50% protein. However I have still increased all of my lifts by 5-10 lbs per week without hitting failure. Doubt much/any muscle loss. Protein is key for sure.
I started working out when I was 15-16 yo in my house with Gilad! Gosh😂 that ages me but I agree, I see people my age STRUGGLING to just live. So I'm forever grateful for Gilad and just fitness in general.
Started listening to you guys regularly in March when I started focusing on transforming my body. I am 49 and only once in the past (in my early 30s) did I ever focus so much on increasing my protein intake to make changes to my body (interestingly that was the time I was on a program where I gained the most muscle…duh) yet every “diet” since then my focus was solely on cutting calories and MORE cardio to lose fat!! Now I am eating high protein (and feeling satisfied!) doing total body strength workouts 3x a week and walking and am down 30# since March. Thank you for your guidance and telling me the “secrets” of how to lose fat that I thought I already knew 😊
We train once a day or every few days , but we eat multiple times everyday. Prioritizing protein and proper nutrition requires constant attention and energy to be consistent. training the mind is the key to success.
I am currently in a bulk and what you guys said unlocked me helped me do it and do it right not being afraid to gain some weight in muscle of course !Thank you again for an awesome show
This vid came in just in time. I'm an ectomorph always struggling to stick with a bulk. I reverse dieted for about 3-4 months and just transitioned back to maintenance. I want to keep bulking and keep calories up if possible so thank u for this video!
Hello from Romania!! You guys are amazing, I discovered this channel a few months ago and now I'm watching every day, I feel bad if I don't. I'm in a lean bulk right now and it's going nuts. Keep going guys, you rock!
Im on vacation now, but I'm still listening to mindpump. When I back home, I will continue with my diet. I am still working out in the hotel. Hope to win this time 😂 700 deadlift Jesus. I hope I stay in shape because I got drunk twice already with 3 drinks and feel like 💩
I really enjoy listening to you guys. Since I started listening to your videos, emphasizing in heavy weight lifting, I can see am starting slim down a bit. I have always lifted weighs but never had the confidence of going up n weight until finally decided to do it and is working great for me. Plus eating more protein, protein 😅Thank you for all the content you share here in RUclips.
I am glad other people enjoyed the Arnold Doc. I couldn't tell if it was that good or if i am really biased, his encyclopedia was the first piece of workout information i had to go off of ( pre internet days for you young folk lol ) but guys like arnold and stalone were who we looked up to for physiques.
39:43 I definitely feel the eye lash length problem. I have to wear prescription glasses or eye wear to shoot on range days and it’s so annoying having my eyelashes rub the lenses
You guys are the best! I can’t get enough of your podcast I listen everyday 😊 I am currently running maps bands, but have my eye on anabolic advanced and would be so happy to win it!! 🙏💪 I can’t thank you all enough for the massive difference you’ve made in so many ways in my health and fitness.
After listening to you guys for months, finally just purchased MAPS Anabolic. Excited to give this a go as I come to the end of my 5x5 programme and take my exercise to the next level!
Pick me for the program giveaway!!!!! But in all seriousness I have never been great at programming workouts but since listening to mindpump and having there programs I have been so locked in I can not thank you guys enough as does everyone. But I also became a Dad while listening to this pod and when they talk about parenting stuff I absorb it all I would say I am a good dad but I also think you want to be the best dad possible so like with my training I am always looking to grow and evolve as a dad as well. I am forever grateful of finding this pod they focus on all areas of health not just eating and working out by fat the best human made pod in the business!!!!!
I always enjoy the show and the light-hearted, poke fun at each other style commentary, But 40:00 when Doug says he gets compliments on his eyes... the rest of you guys seamlessly chime in with a loving comment about Doug's eyes.... hahahahahahahahaha... good stuff
You guys are great! I have been binge watching/listening to you for weeks now. Upped my weights, totally upped my protein and calories!! I thought HIIT and MetCons were it...nope. Thanks so much for the education AND entertainment!
There don't seem to be any downsides to eating more protein. I'm tracking my protein every day and getting better about eating enough at every meal. Thank you for the super episodes! 🧠
Love these guys! I listen to them everyday. I have been struggling with “skinny fat” where my stomach says I need to cut and the rest of my body says I need to bulk. I am going to add more protein to see how that helps 🍖
Shout out from Tampa, FL. Just started Aesthetics & went into a cut after reversing for 4 months. Love the tip on protein. I've tried to increase to 150g but started have stomach digestion issues, so will look at the paleo valley protein & easily digestable protein sources. Currently at 130g. I have completed Anabolic, Performance, & now in Aesthetics. Looking at Anabolic Advanced, Strong, & Powerlift to be my next 3 programs. Recommended order of those 3?
I'm freaking out. Got back to my health and goal to compete. Back with my coach after 5 months off and in that time plus 3 months(back with my coach, I've packed on 28 lbs. Yes for the 5 months off I was new job transitioning, relationship, moved, stress relationship to break up, move, back to old job and yes stress. Also, I've been able to eat animal protein (couldn't for 5 yrs due to medical crap). But I'm freaking out! 200.8 lbs today 😭. In my head I should be getting smaller so I "look like" the gals who compete. I feel bloated and my work uniform is getting snug. (Have to size up in my belt) Some pants I can't even wear. Coach has me at 1535 145 protein 115 carbs 55 fat No scheduled cardio but I hike weekly with my husky and daily dog walks. I feel I have a hopeless dream and wasting money with having a coach. Is this normal, expected? I could use some real talk.
Did that 3months ago. From 1 gram to 1.5 grams it works, strength has jumped up markedly, muscle gain no fat gain. Surprised me how well it is working and on a 66 year old. Been training most of my life.
I met Arnold when he was the governor. He was just on the street shaking hands so my mom jumped in for fun. He always seemed like an awesome dude. He also carried the biggest dang hands I've ever seen. Ginormous gorilla squeezers.
I'd love to try SeeD but my lord, the shipping to Canada is insane. I will say the probiotic i do take has made a difference in how my foods react in my body and the energy i have during workouts. Anyways guys love your show , it has changed my life for the better!.
Guys stop saying cardio sucks for weight loss come on, try cycling 1-2h 2 days a week plus 3h on saturday or sunday on hilly roads and just watch what happens! Of course gaining muscle will be more than hard, but talking about weight loss it's more than effective!!!
Love the content gentleman! I’ve been loving the anabolic and aesthetic programs. Grateful to have my buddy suggest you guys. Any suggestions for type/brand of creatine? Thanks again!
Love Aesthetics on phase 3 . Plan on running it again for my first show in 18 weeks ! Would Anabolic Advance be better . I’m 60 years old classic physique- trt with 200 mg a week .
I have increased my protein way up after hearing your podcast and have noticed my weight did not go up at all. I take a digestive enzymes green powder to help with the digestion and has no issues with digestion.
How good is this show! Have learnt and applied so much of your info over the past year or so and seen by far the BIGGEST gains of my life! Cannot thank you all enough for everything including helping me become a better person overall not just with health 🙏🙏
Depends on what you can perform safely and minimizing risk of losing balance and injury. It'd be irresponsible to give you any direct advice without a proper assessment. The best training schedule is the one you can stick to, so I would start with once or twice a week, and if you're itching for more, increase the frequency (this is assuming you have found appropriate exercises you can do safely). If you're a beginner, focus on compound movements.
I try to introduce yalls podcast to everyone I see literally just shared the podcast to an older obese man jogging this evening and was able to spark up conversation #TryingToEducateThePublic
So may I ask a question? Would it be fair to say to do compound lifts three times a week? Example Monday, Wednesday Friday with a day in between or two days in between the big lifts? This is something that I’ve been struggling with for a long time now. I keep hearing all the messages that you say on Podcasts and RUclips. Focus on your big lifts. Your compound lift if your goal is to get strong. My goal is to get stronger. Your advice is very helpful thank you.
I remember there was a podcast where Sal was talking about how Olympic lifters train. That is, they switch between making heavy weights feel light, and making light weights feel heavy. So there's a portion of the week devoted to breaking their previous PR, lifting the heaviest possible, while the other training days are dedicated to slow, controlled reps with beautiful form at a lower weight. This has been very helpful in my training.
If you don’t listen to mind pump, you’re leaving gains on the table.

Started my Physique and Bodybuilding coach training. Listening to you guys really just adds so much value to this journey!
This podcast got me through my undergrad and master’s program in exercise science during college! Great knowledge and advice!
This was good to hear because I'm eating mostly beef. The amount of protein is ludicrous.
I’m so glad I found you guys.
Currently, still recovering from a lower back injury. I hope I can squat and deadlift again soon

Love how you bring up Arnold for inspiration for those who might not know the full story, hugely inspirational! 🔥💪

Can't get enough Mind Pump. Another great episode, thanks guys!
I always enjoy the show and the light-hearted, poke fun at each other style commentary, But 40:00 when Doug says he gets compliments on his eyes... the rest of you guys seamlessly chime in with a loving comment about Doug's eyes.... hahahahahahahahaha... good stuff
This channel has taught me so much on my journey. I thank you for beeing such a valuable and reliable resource.
Crazy! been incorporating the sled a lot since you guys mentioned it the last time as one of the exercises you can do everyday. You guys are awesome!
You guys are great! I have been binge watching/listening to you for weeks now. Upped my weights, totally upped my protein and calories!! I thought HIIT and MetCons were it...nope. Thanks so much for the education AND entertainment!
Intermittent listener, finally subscribed
There don't seem to be any downsides to eating more protein. I'm tracking my protein every day and getting better about eating enough at every meal. Thank you for the super episodes! 🧠
That series is really good. I’ve been watching it during cardio
Keith Richard's and Iggy Pop still look 30. However they looked 80 in their 30s.
I just started my first bulk ever, this video is really helpful to starting the process right the first time. Thanks guys!
Absolutely love, LoVe, LOOOOVE your show. Been a subscriber and follower for a couple of years and share continuously. Appreciate you!
👀👀👀👀
Commenting each time I watch since I’ve watched every single episode!! 🎉
Third time watching!
Great tip about the rotation. Been trying to work them more into my mobility sessions. Thanks!
Shredded Summer!!! 💪
This is a great tip for me. For me, eating an excess of calories is not a challenge-I usually bulk too fast. So, this might really help!
Protein protein protein! You guys keep putting out that 🔥🔥! Always end the day with mindpump.
Love these guys! I listen to them everyday. I have been struggling with “skinny fat” where my stomach says I need to cut and the rest of my body says I need to bulk. I am going to add more protein to see how that helps 🍖
Same exact thing with me. Im gonna start lifting heavier, eating more cals/protein, and take creatine. hows it been working for u?
Woohoo new podcast!
Coach has me at 1535
145 protein
115 carbs
55 fat
No scheduled cardio but I hike weekly with my husky and daily dog walks.
I feel I have a hopeless dream and wasting money with having a coach.
Is this normal, expected?
I could use some real talk.
Adequate protein bulking or cutting is a game changer. Thank you mind pump
Yes right on time as usual!!
Oh yeah! Those 2 actors were seriously competitive! Very well known.
I just started watching y'all and I am learning a lot
I enjoy listening to you guys while I'm training, great content
Did that 3months ago. From 1 gram to 1.5 grams it works, strength has jumped up markedly, muscle gain no fat gain. Surprised me how well it is working and on a 66 year old. Been training most of my life.
How big was your surplus?
I met Arnold when he was the governor. He was just on the street shaking hands so my mom jumped in for fun. He always seemed like an awesome dude. He also carried the biggest dang hands I've ever seen. Ginormous gorilla squeezers.
Perfect timing for my lean bulking summer coming off a long cut!
Thanks as always for the great info. I always struggle to get enough protein overall. Just have to keep at it
Love me some Mind Pump!
Perfect timing!
“Professional handball” that was great! 😂
Justin and the mascara hand gestures ❤😂
I'd love to try SeeD but my lord, the shipping to Canada is insane. I will say the probiotic i do take has made a difference in how my foods react in my body and the energy i have during workouts. Anyways guys love your show , it has changed my life for the better!.
I noticed this on my last bulk. I also feel better and less bloated when I up my calories with protein above the 1g per body weight
Great episode! Love listening
I am constantly talking about you guys to the other trainers at our gym, clients, anyone who will listen. 😆
Guys stop saying cardio sucks for weight loss come on, try cycling 1-2h 2 days a week plus 3h on saturday or sunday on hilly roads and just watch what happens! Of course gaining muscle will be more than hard, but talking about weight loss it's more than effective!!!
I think they mean mainly from a baseline of untrained obesity. And then pairing that cardio work with no strength training.
Yesssiirrrr perfect timing
Love the content gentleman! I’ve been loving the anabolic and aesthetic programs. Grateful to have my buddy suggest you guys.
Any suggestions for type/brand of creatine?
Thanks again!
I'm skinny fat & been trying to bulk up everywhere but my stomach. Sophisticated video is just in time so I don't go crazy on the calories
What a fun podcast.
Love Aesthetics on phase 3 . Plan on running it again for my first show in 18 weeks ! Would Anabolic Advance be better . I’m 60 years old classic physique- trt with 200 mg a week .
Doug when he told his compliment lmao 😂😂😂😂😂
700 lbs go for it Sal 💪😁
I have increased my protein way up after hearing your podcast and have noticed my weight did not go up at all. I take a digestive enzymes green powder to help with the digestion and has no issues with digestion.
How good is this show! Have learnt and applied so much of your info over the past year or so and seen by far the BIGGEST gains of my life! Cannot thank you all enough for everything including helping me become a better person overall not just with health 🙏🙏
what exercises would you guys recommend for someone with (beginning) parkinson's? Or where can I find good training schedules? What to focus on?
