Crown Towers Sydney recently opened up and with it comes a series of different Sydney restaurants. One of the spots i have been meaning to try is the Epicurean at Crown Sydney Buffet. I have been to a few dinner buffets here in Sydney but have yet to find one that i reckon is amazing, so I am very excited to try this one.
I organized for the entire family to come here and let me tell you we were all really excited. We are all seafood lovers and there's something particularly exciting about being able to eat as many oysters, lobsters, Alaskan snow crab, fresh sashimi as your heart desires.
Just as a quick summary, there are various stations at the Epicurean, i'll just quickly list them out below:
1. Seafood - Lobster, Crab, Prawns, Oysters, Scallops
2. Sushi Bar (incl nigiris, sashimi, rolls)
3. Cheese Boards & charcuterie meats & bread
4. Western style hot food
5. Eastern style hot food
6. Fruit fridge
7. DIY noodles (i only had pho)
8. Soups
9. Dim sums
10. Indian Hot Food
11. Dessert bar (ice cream, dessert tarts, DIY crepe, Choc fountain)
I piled on some weight, my wallet lost some weight and equilibrium is restored once again.

Nothing beat Sizzlers growing up in Sydney with their cheese toast!! By the way totally worth watching till the end people for Janine’s mum!!

Buffets are back? Have restrictions been lifted? You gotta try the Garden Buffet at The Star and the buffet at Hyatt Regency in Sydney, I think the restaurant is called Sailmaker.

My game plan is always go for the most expensive to least, oysters etc then ice creams coffees cakes. Went to Harvest way before COVID, pretty sure ate close to 30 odd oysters and other seafoods easily made the $70 entry worth it. Would be good to see a comparison to show if the extra $40 is worth it 😁

I’ve been to the restaurant and the quality is amazing! I’m a big eater but I couldn’t eat anymore food. I mostly ate the Sushi/Fish/oysters and desert! I couldn’t eat anymore

The good idea when you go to this kind of high level restaurant is to take a little bit of everything 😁
Seafoods & Asian hot food are so delicious 😭😭 also all this different cheese & mini lemonade cake 😍😍

Everting looks so FANCY!! I was apprehensive going there due to the price but everything looks good. Of course it has to be the oysters for the entree! 😍

Awesome video. I think the packaged condiments cheapen the effect.... nothing beats fresh wasabi and why not have some decent gourmet bottled soy sauce? Anyway other than that looks amazing.

Looks nice and location is great but for $110 it's a bit steep. If your after just the seafood aspect of the buffet there are cheaper ones around Sydney, Harvest Buffet @ The Star is on $77.90 and Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park seafood buffet is $79.00.
I think if you want a true seafood buffet experience you should try all the buffets in Asia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines Vietnam etc

Kitchens on Kent @ The Langham was one of the better buffet experiences I've had. Unfortunately like most buffets, they are not currently offering this due to COVID.

Expensive buffet. Looks much better and more variety than Harvest buffet at Star Casino. Janice you do have a good appetite. How long do you get at the table before get kick out?

I watched this after your Star Harvest Buffet vlog... this looks significantly better (did have a booking for July 21 but covid stopped that)... $89 vs $110 (price has gone up since $125 weeknight $145 weekend)... even at those prices it looks significantly better than the star's buffet.
Interesting, looks like price has dropped since then, it was $115 when I visited early Jan this year. Love watching buffet videos :D

Wow I thought the buffet was a thing of the past, we're so lucky in Sydney
The servers were responsible for plating the food which I think is far more hygienic in general. Also the buffet is in a hotel which is a standard thing throughout the world.
I'm waiting for them to be fully normal where we can serve ourselves again before I go back. It's half the fun!

Love your mum at the end - 18 oysters sounded just the right number! The only time I've ever eaten Alaskan snow crab was in Anchorage when I was there to present at a conference. Another place to try out when I am next in town. Every dish looks delicious! I remember there was a buffet place at the Sheraton. Have you tried it ? It was really good and eat much lobster as your heart desires!

I went to a seafood buffet at one of the hotels on the Gold Coast for $70, it was great! I think I ate my weight in balmain bugs

Wow $110 is exxy but the selection looks better that the other ones in Sydney of similar caliber. Place looks awesome too and yeah the seafood so that probably does justify the $110. Will still try though. Great video as always Janice.
Thanks Janice. I've eaten at the Harvest buffet at the Star, but I didn't know that Crown Barangaroo also had an all you can eat buffet. The Star's buffet is considerably cheaper - which do you think is best?

The food looks amazing, though the lobster tail looked somewhat overcooked and stringy. The cooked oysters with bacon (and Worcestershire sauce?) are oysters Kilpatrick. Soy sauce fishes and packet wasabi seems a bit cheapskate for a high-end place though. Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
@Phil, wonder if it is a COVID-19 thing hence they use individual packaged soy sauce and wasabi for hygiene purposes.. also have their staff to handle food instead of everyone else could also be their Covid-19 safe plan.

haven't been to a buffet place for years! unfortunately i can't take oysters and sashimis as my stomach cannot withstand its freshness. i guess so because each time i took it, i fell sick for days. so yeah, i can't consume raw seafood but it is fun watching you and your family enjoying the nice buffet meal. looking forward to your next vlog🍻
