I lost my mum 20 years ago, and for the 1st time I've found a song that articulates the depth of that loss. I replace the words "Summer 09" with "Summer 99" and "brother" with "mother" in the lyrics... And I swear to God it broke. A cathartic break that has been 2 decades in the making. Thank you for the healing.

I lost one of my good friends this past summer, and this song always makes me think of him. Truly a beautiful song. Thank you so much.
This song reminds me of the times I had spent with my best friend in summer 2009, just listening to and compiling music, when everything was simpler. She passed away 2 summers later, just minutes after promising me that everything would be okay. Saying goodbye to dying loved ones was always difficult for me but ever since then, it’s become next to impossible. It’s hard for me to listen to this song without tearing up. Really, it’s difficult to listen to a lot of songs because they hold some sort of memory with her from a better time in my life, but this song sums them all up into why.

It made me think about my current boyfriend, and me singing to him about the love we had as kids in the future when were adults, revisiting our childhood town and reminiscing on the beauty of young love. Losing someone you love deeply... nothing compares to that pain🖤
not once have i ever commented on a youtube video but your songs ayahuasca and bad dream struck a chord within me and i’ve been listening ever since i found those two songs. but this song of yours didn’t just strike a chord..it brought on so many tears for so many different reasons. i just recently left my first love. we were together for many years and about to get married and start our lives together. it was a horribly toxic and emotionally abusive relationship but love is blind and i held on so tightly because i wanted to reach our dreams for the future...a house together in California, 20 minutes from the beach, just us two against the world. “lost in the dreams we could never could complete” and “i’d rather live in the past than face tomorrow” hit home. the lyrics themselves sound so hopeless, or at least like there is an undeniable struggle to move on from something going on, but when i hear the way you deliver each line, i can hear acceptance of the situation and hope for healing in your voice. thank you...every time i hear this now, i won’t just cry tears of sadness for the love i could’ve had, but i will cry tears of joy because i know i am not alone in this journey of heartbreak, and healing is on its way...slowly but surely. you, and your art, are absolutely beautiful. never change.

I've not heard your music until 10 minutes ago when I went to listen to a song called _"As the Footsteps Die Out Forever"_ by *Streetlight Manifesto.* I wanted to listen to it and take time to reflect today and try to get the worst of the emotions out of the way. My best friend had asked me to be his best man a few months back and was set to get married next September and they had also just found out his fiance was expecting. He was so excited. He was proud. He was a few years into sobriety and was doing a great job of maturing and letting go of his past. I was proud. I was happy. I was excited. I was grateful to know a soul as warm and selfless as he. Last week I came back to the house we were renting and found him pinned under his car he had on the lift in our garage and he was gray. The guilt hurts. I wish I had been home. I wish I could have at least sat tight with him after calling for help and sat tight with him and talked him through to the other side. 😔💔 Today we lay him to rest and celebrate having been able to know a friend, a son, a fiance, an uncle, a grandchild, and a dad, who was so bright. When this song played it felt like the emotions I was feeling manifested into a song. Thank you for sharing your talents with us as well as the way you can paint a vivid picture with your music. Good luck in your future endeavors and godspeed my friend.

Just saw this.....and hit me hard. That girl at the prom/gig scene accurately depicted my depression after losing my father 5 years ago. Just like the scene, i was trying to find the peace and keep telling to myself that it's gonna be okay even though inside, i was so torn and hurt. Honestly, after just hearing the first half of this art, i shed tears... this song made me nostalgic but at the same time, gives me the sense of peace in the midst of pain. ❤️❤️❤️ God bless ya'll
