You know I just needed an idle game cause I had a lot of downtime at work recently but I was impressed with the art style when I got THE FUCKING RUclips AD I DIDNT SKIP while playing cod mw2.
Decided to give a shot and I was honestly more impressed with how it was all live 2d and the art style is gorgeous and old timey.
The characters all have songs too and are bangers? Like goddamn

Even though this game is almost the same as afk arena at every aspect of gameplay; the music, the story and the art are enough to stay around.

There are way to many differences between afk arena and this game for me. Memento Mori has alot more in common with Stickman Awakens than anything else.

@@Sayurawesome11 The difference in skill usage, afk gives you the option to use their ults whenever you want. Memento makes the thing fully auto.
@@shonntheghost3745 yeah and that's what make a downfall for your party. I still can't believe I get wrecked by a Qlifa on Chapter 8-28 even though my BP is 500K more then her!!!
@@dragonking9912 EVERYONE got walled at 8-28(myself included). unless you set up a specific team to hinder the boss. Alot of my guildmates used Fenrir with Illya to cause the Faint debuff to trigger alot.

What I'd give for one of the singers of Celtic Woman to cover one of these songs, past or present members. This is their jam.

This song is actually heavily based on a Jewish folk song called "Mayim, Mayim" that has interestingly become part of Japanese pop culture. Melodically and rhythmically, the two songs are exactly the same. The lyrics, although different, are even sang in the same cadence. The song definitely wasn't copied in a malicious way or anything like that. I think it's more of an Easter egg for the Japanese audience as the vast majority would instantly recognize it. The artist who arranged this version definitely gave it some "Celtic-ish" vibes by way of their instrumentation and arrangement choices, though.
I didn't do this story any justice lol. So if you want to really know the story behind the original Jewish folk song that this song is based on and how it became part of Japanese pop culture, I reccomend a video titled *"The Jewish Folk Song Everyone in Japan Knows",* by the channel called: *Unseen Japan.*
It's definitely an interesting story that's also surprising and a bit strange. The channel itself is really good, as well. He's been around a good while, but is still somehow criminally under-subbed.
I learned about this from the same video a couple years ago when he released it.

@@xenophagia just looked up Mayim and youre right it is extremely similar, fitting that a Jewish folk song be used for a Witch of Qlipha considering their relationship with kabbalah through the Qlipoth and her christian design elements also relate to the judeo-christian coding of her character, very interesting

The game is super. The music and the art are so gorgeous. It is relaxing.
Even the paywall is super... If u dont have the right char u need to wait and wait for upgrading them and kindled orbs are so lacking.

It's called "The Jewish Folk Song Everyone in Japan Knows" by an excellent (& criminally under-subbed) channel called Unseen Japan, for anyone interested. That's where I learned about this.
Also, "Mayim, Mayim" was introduced to Taiwan by the same man before he introduced it to Japan. It gained popularity there too. I don't think it's as popular as it is in Japan, however.

Good job on noticing and thanks for commenting about it, btw. The song sounded so familiar to me, and I just couldn't think of why until I saw your post. Then it all came back to me lol. Idk if you watched the video I recommended yet, but it's really good and has more info & context that I didn't include. He does the story much more justice. I didn't even know of the song until I watched that video a couple years ago. Afterwards, I started noticing it all over the place in anime lol. Even in stuff I've already watched multiple times. Never heard a rendition like this that has it's own lyrics though. It's usually the actual song either instrumental or with original lyrics in Japanese or English.

Looks like they set their eyes (and by extent budget) towards the amazing original music and unique artwork. It's clearly the main focus and I'm here for it. Even as an idle game, it's a nice game to just hop on for a minute and play the different gamemodes and collect waifus and resources. Personally, it's kinda exactly what I was looking for days before pre-registration.

Love the concept arts , seiyuu even the songs feels good, the concepts story feels like madoka although story this game sometimes need more explained somestimes dont understand, really love if they make anime ver really want there is main char(male char) who leads or helping all witchs to the right path even there is romances too. And back to game stuck lvl 120 :( in the end must montlypass even p2w for moreeeee up lvl charsss even more running up lvl maps become so difficult and unbalanced enemies

Gotta say really the music in this game especially this one. Kinda hate that it’s an idle game considering how great everything else is.
for developers the cellular network bug problem at my place is still not resolved where when using a cellular network it can't connect, while using WiFi it can connect,even though my WiFi network is weaker than my cellular network, even when using a WiFi network can't open videos on RUclips but when connecting to memento Mori it's always connected
It’s either that Your cellular wifi is just too weak or that games connect better to company operated wifi instead of mobile wifi

This is the first AFK gacha I'm playing if you don't count Azur Lane, and the art quality and music blew me away, I love it! Would love to see this expand into something more interactive for sure.
