I can never seem to resist a piping hot, fluffy funnel cake smothered in powdered sugar. I probably should have never learned how to make funnel cakes at home. This funnel cake recipe is super easy and creates one yummy batch of funnel cakes.

I am going to make these for my nephews & nieces ... I can't wait to make them...
So I tried funnel cakes at Niagara, and loved them... I wanted to make them at home so I won't have to drive there every time I wanted it..
Yesterday I found this recipe and tried it today, everyone loved it!! It was super easy to make and turned out De.li.cious!!! I used vanilla ice cream and strawberry jam+maple syrup... A good addition..

i've never made the funnel cake batter from scratch always use a store mix will definitely have to try this .....i never can resist using a little of the batter for fried snickers i probably should have never tried those so addictive lol

dasnasish what you can do is go to a local kings dominion and they have some really good funnel cake i asked for mine plain so when i could go home i put nutella on it i cant get enough of that stuff its so good and i put ice cream vanilla and whippex cream on to with chocolate syrup it is so good i do this with pancakes or waffles too
nope not in this one, but you can certainly add some. I have two funnel cake recipes on my blog and one has vanilla extract.

Yes it is.
You don't have to use a funnel! You can use a piping bag or a squize bottle with the top cut off
And miss diva LOL do you have to use a funnel can u just use the measuring up because that funnel cake came out perfect
you can use a plastic bag with the tip cut off instead, and it works the same

is there any substitute for the shortening like some type of oil?
You can always try canola oil or vegetable oil because that's what I use when I fry mine
If I wanted to add Vanilla extract how much would I use!
