Watching Mr. Godfrey wrapping that truck around that stump with my Father a million years ago is one of our most treasured moments. My best friend, Laura Shelton and Father and I got to see this on Sunday afternoons. Good for us!
Did you know your brother's car also features prominently in the Doctor Who serial "Spearhead From Space", which was filmed in 1969? How did he manage to get the car in two popular BBC programmes?
@@fp7026 I did not know that I came to USA when I was 12. I do know he did a movie or two also he had about 8 cars then and they called him to rent them. At last contact he was rebuilding tiger moth by planes. T.Y
PNK.FLYD. #1 Check out this link - m.ruclips.net/video/j8tUf1zYgPA/видео.html - watch to the end and you will see your brother's car looking exactly as it did in Dad's Army. Even the same license plates.
I know it adds to the suspense but if Godfrey doesn't know how to drive all Jones had to do was take Godfrey in the car with him to the barn, warn Captain mainwaring and all the platoon could run or walk to a safe distance from the barn and be safe from the explosion, since there was adequate time to escape.
He was also the Italian POW guard in Don't Fence Me In. He played Mr Mash in AYBS, actor's name is Larry Martyn. Interestingly enough, he played the role of Pvt Walker on the radio after James Beck died.
...there is something that has always intrigued me in 'Dad's army'...and in 'It ain't half hot, Mum', come to think of it...this has nothing to do with being a 'wet blanket', I may well skip sleeping watching them !...I know they're both comedies and that everything is "comedied", but there is no comedy in the way they salute each other in both series...the 'salute' is not developed into comedy, with the exception of a brief moment, here and there...so, if the salute is not "comedied", how come they make an 'absolute shambles' of it ?!?... ...'A' is a whatever rank and 'B' whatever superior rank that A has to salute...the correct sequence of the salute is A BB A...how come it never is, but never ?!?...I've seen AA BB...and even BB AA !...funny...

Geweldige leuk om te terug te zien 😂😂😂😂😂😂
'Left right, left right, halt, now you sit there Mr Godfrey, what a fine mix of being military and being polite.
I know it's a farcical comedy but the adrenalin in this episode..25 years later and I still feel it when I watch it!!
Super episode - crazy plot and great acting. One to watch again.
Not so crazy. Mistakes like this happen in a country at war.
One of my favorite episodes!!!! I laughed through the entire episode. Thank you so much for the upload. :)
@ 5.40 'get of your knees and answer the phone ya old crawler'. Brilliant.
Godfrey is my favourite character....great episode
Great comedy. Amazed at how fit Clive Dunn was for his age.
Dunn was a lot younger than his character looked in real life...but yea
There is no equal or better show than Dad's Army. Bar none!
Rudolf Trost : That's what "bar none" means.
Blijft altijd goed, kwaliteit echt Britse 😅😊🎉😂❤

So where would we be for a show then. Think Mate think.
Why didn’t they just reconnect the 2 telephone cables?
That would have to be one of the best episodes ever made

It's all fantasy and comedy, i know. But irl Cpl Jones deserved court marshall for this stupid mistake that nearly costed the lives of his comrades.
This one was a real hoot 😃
LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT
Corporal. Great story line.
Shan't be Blown to Smithereens!
like anything if its well written it lives on ala led zepplin.brilliant stuff
Um....Why didn’t they just join the 2 phone wires back up?🧐
Mainwaring thinks he’s a field marshal in that new coat.
This episode should come with a warning from a cardiologist. 😅
Mainwaring in field coat, believes he’s a field marshal
Jones is such a Royal Screw Up. Did he ever do anything right in the whole series? Still we all loved the guy. Leave the kidneys in the top drawer.
Mr. Marsh in "Are you being served" 16:29
Mr Mash! Lol
Pike does the benny hill salute great
How do you dislike this?
That little Austin is still taxed for the road. I couldn't see the larger car in the DVLA database, though. Was it a Vauxhall?
Bit of ‘old skool’ FIBUA
It's Nelson Eddie.
I am waiting to watch episode where Lowe doesn't fuck up his lines.

Anytime I get an opportunity I love to look at Dad's army, it's so British isn't it.
