"Ohio", "Woodstock', "Suite Judy Blue Eyes", "Long Time Gone", "Marakesh Express", "Teach Your Children", "Our House", "Wooden Ships". So many classics from this supergroup. Crosby from the Byrds, Stills and Young from Buffalo Springfield, Nash from the Hollies. Wonderful. Saw CSN at the PNC Art Center in NJ, 8/11/09. Great show. One of the great harmonic bands, similar to the Beach Boys harmonies.
You can't deny the harmonies of Nash and Crosby,magical for ever and always. Steven Stills,is a writing Genius! Neil Young,was added later to the band. He added his own song writing and was fantastic, and added he own special touch! All and all masterclass music!
I've been asking for him to do Wooden Ships since I've been here. Lol maybe with all the thumbs up you're getting he will. It seems highly appropriate for the direction the world has turned towards. ✌️🤠🏞️🐂
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN I don't choose my music on whether it is popular or not. I choose music I like. And certainly don't give two shits what other people think. ✌️🤠🏞️🐂
Gooood stuff. Hippie music. psychedelic stuff. People that are now in their 70’s grooved to this music. Insane. And still probably do. Just because you are old on the outside doesn’t mean you’re old on the inside. Everybody learns this truth as time ticks on…
"Almost Cut My Hair" & "Country Girl" from the same album are wonderful tracks. I rarely hear those on reaction channels, but they're amazing. That's an excellent album, especially with Neil Young added to the band. Bass & drums are fantastic throughout the album.
I sing this in the car almost daily, just love everything about it, especially the harmonies and musical changes. Actually I use this song for singing practice, as I'm in a choir. One of my favourites by them, and the other favourite is Woodstock
The core group was Crosby Still and Nash. Neil Young joined them now and then and they were called, Crosby Stills Nash and Young. All of them sing and play guitar, and all of them write songs. It was a 'super group' of musicians from other rock bands, maybe the first super group.
Classic! The guitar solo coming out of the break teaches even before that wah-wah caps things off. When you're ready for more from Crosby, Stills & Nash and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, check out some of these "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes", "Wooden Ships", "Long Time Gone", "Teach Your Children", "Almost Cut My Hair", "Helpless", "Woodstock" and many more.
CSN & Y, "CARRY ON". This most excellent song. The music takes one right back to Lazgars Farm, 1969 with "WOODSTOCK". Great Groovy times. more CSN & Y. "WOODSTOCK", "WOODEN SHIPS", "LONG TIME GONE", "SUITE JUDY BLUE EYES",
This is a great classic album, they also released one of the best live albums “4 Way Street”! In addition to their great harmonies, they all contribute their own written songs to their albums
Biz, have you done Woodstock yet by CSNY? I believe Young was in this, not sure 🤔. Written by Ms Joni Mitchell for " her friends, and for herself", as she says. If you could do the CSNY version, and I'd love it if you checked out Woodstock by Joni Mitchell, live 1970, just her and the piano. Thank you
@@watchbizmatik Ok thanks. Joni Mitchell wrote it about this famous festival Woodstock, 1969. She wasn't at the festival, watched it on TV, then wrote a song about it. How cool is that?
Exhibit A as to why CS & N added Neil Young. All four were great songwriters and singers. Crosby and Nash were masters at singing harmony. Stephen Stills is also a brilliant musician that can play multiple instruments. He played everything on the CSN debut. Neil Young is a brilliant musician as well on multiple instruments. When they asked why add Neil, Stephen replied have you ever heard me and Neil jam?
Really enjoyed your reaction to CSNY!! In my opinion Deja Vu is one of the ten greatest rock albums of all time. Really enjoyed Greg Reeves bass throughout this!!
~~~ Suite Judy Blue Eyes ~~~ 🤩 I think it's even better than this one as far as changes (four songs :) ) and more driving harmonies. Also ends on a Latin beat which I love.
Wow! Instantly takes me back to a long time ago, and the taste Winston cigarettes. I dont smoke cigarettes anymore, just for the record! Nor do I encourage it
You had to be alive when DejaVu was released to truly appreciate the impact of this group. That said, isn't it great we have records and technology to bring this music to future audiences? Biz, "Almost Cut My Hair" and Long Time Gone are epic songs you should do soon .
This song was only Crosby, Stills, and Nash...no Young. Although this album is listed as being by CSN,&Y, Neil recorded his songs at his home studio--separately from the others, then brought them into the studio for the others to contribute to them. The reverse was true of the non-Neil Young songs. IN short, this was more of a collaboration of two entities than it was a unified band performing all of their songs. AS you get into the album, it's fairly easy to figure out which is which.
Hey Biz this is Taka Boom sista of Chaka Khan we are big fans of yours…….gotte play Some Love by Chaka…..it will change who you are for the better of course funkiest shit you’ll ever hear……our brothe Mark Stevens is playin bass🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Classic song from a classic album. The live version of Long Time Gone from the 4 Way Street album is a good one. The Stills Young album Long May You Run has a lot of good songs that get overlooked. It was originally suppose to have Nash and Crosby on it but it didn't work out. The song 12/8 Blues is a good one from it.
Check out the band Foxes and Fossils. They do covers of famous songs, that are as good or even better than the originals. Their cover of this is excellent. The band got their start in 2010 by doing a cover of CSN&Y suite Judy blue eyes. Graham Nash, one of the writers of the song called up Foxes and Fossils and praised their cover.
Solid album. Please check out the version of "Woodstock" done by Matthew's Southern Comfort, a British group. It was a massive hit in Europe back in the day and rather a different interpretation than CSN & Y's version.
I bought this album when it came out. I love all their music I see you’ve done some Neil young so how about some graham nash from his songs for beginners album
So many hits from CSN and CSNY. Don't know why (maybe you can explain it to me), but my absolute favorite from them is "Southern Cross" ruclips.net/video/iuLBhxZUkmU/видео.html
Dang was hoping for Wooden Ships. It is a post-apocalyptic song. As well as a war protest. It Was Written while vacationing on a yacht with members of Jefferson Starship or airplane. And the guitar work is considered some of the best by Stills. But it's your journey. Already had mine. ✌️ 🤠🏞️🐂
Haven't seen where you have reacted to the Outlaws. Country Southern Rock. Similar sounding to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Not surprising as both bands were from Florida. They had many hits. Green Grass and High Tides forever would be a good starting point. ✌️🤠🏞️🐂
A true supergroup of the late 60's and early 70's, this album was a revelation for me in my late teens. Their collaborative musical career was short, but oh so bright. Sadly, with that many talented writers and musicians in one group egos would eventually be their downfall and extinguish their light. Fortunately for us they left behind some remarkable music!
Yeah these first 2 albums... you can't beat them. Their approach to that acoustic guitar sound in the beginning, probably strummed by thumb and palm, is amazing. My next pick would be the song Woodstock.
Of course you can 4 Way Street their Live album these are done much better!!! Southern Man and This are way longer like 12 or 14 mins with guitar solos from Stills and Young
Stephen Stills, one of the GOATs, brings the Caribbean vibe. You should hear his "Go Back Home" with monumental guitar solo by Eric Clapton. The song is orgasmic! It's on the "Stephen Stills" album. The whole album crushes.
"Ohio", "Woodstock', "Suite Judy Blue Eyes", "Long Time Gone", "Marakesh Express", "Teach Your Children", "Our House", "Wooden Ships". So many classics from this supergroup. There was alot of talent in this band. Great harmony band.
Unfortunately the egos and drugs tore the band apart
Don't forget how great a guitarist Stills is.
This album was the soundtrack to my high school years. Played it to death. Every song on this album is perfect. You said it correctly - Masterpiece.
"Carry on" was actually the official motto of my graduating class in high school in 1971. This song must have been the reason.
@@davidmckenzie420 Very appropriate.
Agree, a masterpiece album!!!
Same here... The album is still the coolest album I've ever seen.. inside and outside.
You mean the first super group after Cream, Blind Faith.
One of my favorites, never gets old!
The soundtrack of my youth.!
Me too
" WOODEN SHIPS " ✌💞
Besides the great harmonies the bass is 🔥
you have to do "Almost cut my hair"
"Teach Your Children" and "Marrakesh" are two more great CSNY songs.
this album would be in my lost on a desert island collection,
Great reaction! I love to see you appreciate classic rock. Suite Judy Blue Eyes should be next, and everything everyone else said! 💙 😀
Thank you 😁
Nope 4 Way Street either Southern Man or Carry On with extended solos or Stills doing piano on For What It's Worth
Great musicians, and such a great close harmony in their singing. 🎶🎶🎶❤️❤️
Deja Vu is a must own LP from The Classic Era.
Saw them at MSG in the 70s. The whole place was on their feet for the whole show!
One of the best albums ever made! Any song on here is great!
Missed this one, one of my old faves-geez, now I REALLY feel old; but, luckily the music doesn’t age.
4 Way Street has most of those done live and much much better
CSN & Y, "CARRY ON". This most excellent song. The music takes one right back to Lazgars Farm, 1969 with "WOODSTOCK". Great Groovy times. more CSN & Y. "WOODSTOCK", "WOODEN SHIPS", "LONG TIME GONE", "SUITE JUDY BLUE EYES",
