My favorite version. Love to watch these musicians work. Murder ballads will likely always be a debated genre, but this is so pure & raw. Thanks, Jesca, Erika, poster, all.
When around 3:00 Jesca returns with her super-rhythmic verse, I get the same feeling that I get when a bass drops in dubstep, or when metal song reaches its climax. Beautifully structured song.
I listened to this song and many others under a large Apple tree on holiday in Scotland and it was devine Was rather stoned too! Buzzards flying overhead!, and your beutifull music. 🤗 I love your beutifull music Jesca, thank you so much. I'll see you in Cambridge live in December! Xxx
There's something great here. You see the music being made in the way it is made. You don't get some flashy video or photoshopped masterpiece; just real musicians making real music. This music is not about the fame, it's about the music. I like this.
Jesca is currently my most favored artist... with all the stress and anxiety in my life being a new care taker of an ill family member I can turn this song on and I can feel my breath coming back to me. Thank you, Jesca. Erika - I will be looking up your music as well. :)
I could listen to this song all day long, it brings me to another world! I have to wonder what the two people were thinking with the thumbs down :(. Jesca Hoop is Awesome!
I bought Erika Wennerstrom's first album with The Heartless Bastards when she was in Dayton,Oh. I knew she was going places. I have followed the work of Jesca Hoop, too (HI !) and am pleased these two have a song together. This is so integrated and smooth, no note out of place, a flow that pulls you in . . . I really like the soft drums and the vibes -- especially the use of a bow to extend the tone on the vibe--how cool is that? This song? All in all, out of 5 stars, I give it 6.
Been a fan since 2006. Caught many of your performances at the Hotel Cafe that year. At the time i always wore a black fedora. You are exquisite Jesca Hoop.
This song is amazing, it reminds me a lot of Where the Wild Roses Grow by Nick Cave, Which is also a murder ballad duet about a man who uses a rare flower to win over a beautiful woman with red hair before killing her by a river and placing the titular flower on her corpse.
Me txifla esta canción! La bailo como si fuera el trash rock; punk rock; electro más cañero! Bravo por componer una canción tan buena y placentera para el oído y el cuerpo en general! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hi Jesca! I saw that you have a concert tonight in Bristol and I know it's probably finished now I just wanted to wish you the best of luck as I couldn't go because I couldn't get there to listen to one of my favourite singers perform :) good luck and have fun!
Great set! I just listened to the history guy talking about Tulip mainia and how people offered the value of a home for some plant matter. Can you say bini babies anyone?
Most beautiful song I’ve heard in a long time. Struck gold when you and Erika found each other, I can tell you two had a good time making this song together, props to Erika for hitting the notes you were looking for, J. Props to the Sound engineer as well. This song is one of a kind.
One of the most underrated artists which I ever heard
Same
Defiantly, but let's keep her for ourselves, nice and cosy and warm. 🤗❤

Still one of the best performances a decade later
The harmonies with Erika’s contralto voice are just….chill-inflicting.

Both women's voices are so pleasing, and so very different from one another. They complement one another so well.

First time ever hearing this today in radio. Great! I hope you don't mind if I tell I'm feeling the same I felt hearing Suzanne Vega in the mid 90's.
This song is pure genius. So deep.
I love both these ladies's musics, and the way their voices complement each other and interact with the vibes and the vibe on this track.

Holy hell, this is my favorite rendition of this song so far. I really love when everything comes together like this. Just fantastic.

Thnx for yet another venture into a dark and beautiful Hoop realm.
Incredible! Spotify just pulled this up for me randomly and it's been giving me goosebumps all morning.
One of my favorite favorite singers ever!
where am i seven years ago
Reminds me of a traditional tune like those of Pentangle, Steeleye Span but coming from a deeper place.
Love Jsca's music - so refreshing simple and complex in one - strange but true.

Alex Golembeski yeah the song is great, but they weren't undressed, it was a slight disappointment
I love that Cave song as well!
