Nice circuit for what it is, but if you are to use this for a real night time light, you need to make a time delay setup or a cloud going by would turn in on. And install a relay could allow it to use most any type light bulb or LED for the light...

I think you mean hysteris [spelling?
You can replace the 220k resistor with 100k and overlap it with a 500k potentiometer to adust sensitivity so partial darkness will not trigger it.

I use same elememts. But it shines all time. When it is dark, it shines more. Maybe my ldr is somehow different ? And i need bigger resistor ?

if you give it proper cooling and heat sink than it will last as much other electronic components.
Probably will cause flickering with LED light as voltage is severely cut to a lower frequency. Incandescent light has thermal radiation to cover the pulse.
Sir , What modification are needed if I want to use more than 100 w bulb?
Bt 136 triac hold maximum 4A current and 600v, you don't need to do any modification for using more than 100w bulb. You can use.
Traic BT136 allow 4A and 6A for short time, however when u need more current you may use other TRAIC which are available from 4A-80A

Can I use heavy duty 220v relay instead of bulb I want to use it for 100+ street light by the use of heavy duty relay contact.please advise. I have used very small LDR but it blasted. What rating ldr do I need?

It will work but you have to change resistance value accordingly.

If you want to make it opposite than you watch this video. In this circuit you only need to change relay connection to n/o.

i dont know why people saying not working .i make all the circuit in front off everyone and tested.
@@Erpankaj925 oh dear..... well first LDRs vary a LOT in value and response which your design FAILED to address. Second the construction is TERRIBLE. Third is no explanation or advice.
Just because yours seems to work does NOT mean it is a good design or will work. for others It is a fluke
I feel that in trying to use as few parts as possibel / as simple as a design as possible you are ending up with a bad design. I will look for a simple circuit as well - it is NOT easy - but I do not sacifrice things like reliability and robustness
