I'll make that dip for sure, thanks. I'm curious if you and Jim would go to the salt mines here in UT and learn about the incredible salt you have that is mined right here near where you must live. That would be a great field trip. I think you would be changing salt choices as well if you went.

Love the cornbread casserole. I make one almost like it in my double cake pan when my son has friends or his baseball team over to swim. The only difference is that I make the cornbread pretty thin and bake it about half way through before topping. It comes out rather like a Mexican pizza. The boys eat it faster than I make it. No recipe-just an accident of not having anything else one day and throwing something together with what I had in the cupboards….

I’ve been water bath canning for 29 years, but only pressure canning for a year. My first pressure canner got destroyed in a move & I’d only used it once. Canned burger is my fav thing about pressure canning bc my husband & son eat a lot of burger. I can it with beef broth, helps the flavor.

I started canning about a year and a half ago. I am trying to learn ways to use my canned goods. I do have canned burger. I also have canned venison, chipped beef, pork, chicken and turkey. That’s the meat list.
I have also canned carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes and tomato sauces as well as pizza sauce. I love being able to grab a few jars of something to serve up to unexpected company. It’s also nice to have the security of being able to open a jar homemade food in a lengthy power outage

I can't tell you how happy I am to get this topic covered. I canned beef for the first time a few months ago. My husband is convinced he hates canned ground beef. He says it's just gross. I want to make a recipe and not tell him it's home canned beef and prove him wrong. LOL! My canned beef has that layer of fat on it too. I agree with you. I would add some sour cream to that bean and beef dip. I've never used the jiffy cornbread mix but, it looks interesting. You are really using up a lot of your canned jars in those recipes. I love that kind of food. Jim and I like the same kind of food. Thanks for the video Jim & Pam! That's really awesome stuff.

Add veges, stir it all together, or layer the meat & gravy over the veges. Mashed potato hat. Shredded cheese. Bake it till its bubbling. Everything is already cooked, just heating thru.

What a timely video. I'm working my way through Dr. Pam's pressure canning course. Naturally, I'm canning along with the course, but I've been wondering just how I'm going to use what I've worked so hard to preserve. Now I have some ideas!
If some of you were wondering whether or not the canning courses are worth it, the answer is an emphatic, YES! It is a perfect winter learning activity so you'll be even more motivated to garden, or U-pick, or watch for produce and meat sales this summer. I would say it is worth every penny and then some. Like Dr. Pam said once, "It's the deal of the century!" Take advantage of this great teaching.

Dear Jim and Pam, THANK YOU for this very informative and practical few recipes! My husband acquired the alpha gal allergy from a tick bite so he can’t consumer beef, pork or lamb. I’ve canned a bunch of pints of ground Turkey and chicken and needed more creative uses for them. This is very helpful. You two have a wonderful weekend and can’t wait to see your remodeled kitchen!

The audio sounds much better on the overhead camera. Well done on the food AND technology!

All 3 recipes sound so good. I'm not a fan of Jiffy Mix , but I do have some in storage. I was thinking of what I could use for the casserole in place of the cornbread....I came up with a layer of cooked cheese grits!! I think that's what I will be making for supper! Thank you two for the video, I really appreciate ya'll's work.

Everything looks super yummy, even the hamburger in the jar. It’s not like you’re going to eat the cold hamburger, lol. Thank you for this. I’m sure the hamburger is delicious. Not a fan of beans, any suggestions on a substitute for the beans? Thank you Jim and Adam. 😊

This question is off topic but can you use ½ pint jars instead of the larger ones. I am 76 and a widow so I would love to do smaller size jars for my pantry. I have learned so much from your channel. I had never pressure or water canned before. I am forever grateful for you and Jim and your ability to make things so very clear! God bless you both!

Yes you can, but you will need to use the processing times for pints since no official times are given for the smaller jars.
