    Its makes the car run rich for a second. Because the maf is accounting for air that's no longer there. So fuel gets gets sprayed for x amount of air but that amount of air is no longer there.

      Seeing dude has the AEM CAI and the BPV is in the stock location, the MAF has already read and calculated the AFR for the the first time around. I have the same car, same AEM CAI, same GFB Respons running 30lbs on 91 Oct. The TC-SST effects boost, vacuum and load quite a bit differently than a 5 speed GSR because of the no-lift shifts doesn't allow for the BPV/BOV to open betweeen shifts.

    If possible I wouldn't stick with the accessport on the MR, even Cobb have said in emails to customer inquiries that they don't really account for any of the SST variables. If you do more than an intake and catback, you'll probably want to switch to anyone near you who can do a protune/custom tune and if you go higher power you'll wanna look into rebuilding the SST to a 10-12 plate. I just did mine with kozmic and I use local guys in Jersey who specialize in Evo tuning for the ECU and transmission stuff with open source. Hope the cars treating you well!

      100% agree. I still have the Cobb access port and just really haven’t had the time to do a actual tune so I can get rid of the access port. I’ve been wanting to get gauges before tuning. And definitely will build the transmission when I get around to it. I’m in Texas so I’ll be taking it to a shop in Houston when the time comes.

      @@ProjectKaiGarage33 hands down kozmic. I would use them for everything between the tune and SS rebuild. They are arguably best in the country on this platform. You won't regret going there. Keep us posted with the car bro and enjoy! It's a very fun and reliable car if you work within it's parameters and do your maintenance. All the best ~

    I have the same car, it's FBO except for stock turbo and manifold. Best upgrade you can do on an MR is get a Grimmspeed/Cobb EBCS and get a tune by Chet Rickerman at Rickerman Tuning. The dude has over 850 Evo tunes under his belt, he's a master. He will take the car safely to a whole other level. I run the the Radium PCV side catch can, it's all the car needs up to 30lbs of boost. I empty it every oil change and in summer/spring/fall it only has 1/4"of waste fluid in it. Dump that Cobb AP and go Evoscan, Ecuflash and Tatrix cable, Cobb AP and software is stale on this platform now.

      I’ve had a lot of people telling me not to get the accessport... How about open source? I ran into a shop near me uses that.

    • @stephen9944
      @stephen9944 3 года назад +2

      @@Fizz826 Open Source is Evonscan and Ecuflash using a Tantrix cable. That's what all of the good tuners use.

      @@stephen9944 thank you for the clarification. I just got the Evo x Gsr on Sunday. But always been playing with imports since the 90’s. Just sold my s2000 and AE86. Had a 2002 wrx with accessport.

      Because I have a MR with the SST transmission. I don’t let off the throttle when I shift.
