That sure was an interesting dam video. It was choked full of dam information and dam construction techniques. I will most likely never use any of the dam information because I'm not a dam builder, more of dam consumer, but I really liked the dam video.

❤years ago they wanted to build a water storage lake on top of a mountain in Newburg n y that would pump water up from the river below to the new lake ! Then let water flow down to the river below to produce electricity for day use ! It was turned down by environmentalists and now there is no clean energy production ! Crazy !

For better or for worse, this is what we did. I don't think a mechanical analysis of the field ground has been done. This is all short-term temporary construction!

To date the worlds dams are all fitted with only one bank of turbines the thinking is any more and turbine surging will happen. This was right but in Australia in 2016 a proof of concept unit was tested by RDP Marine it can be retro fitted to all dams and give 5-10% more power from the same volume of water

Can you imagine the hoops and red tape you'd have to go through in order to build something like that in the US. It would take longer to get government permission in the US than it would take the chinese to design, get permitting and build. The US has lost its way. We have lost our competitive edge because of government.

    • @user-cn6cr1oy1y

No, we've just moved past this type of technology and building. We started this type of thing almost 100 years ago and invented it in the first place. China is just using our old technology as a political tool to gain influence in other countries. We now understand how projects like this are capable of altering the environment so are much more cautious about them. China isn't near as cautious because they are still learning those lessons we learned over 50 years ago. But nothing teaches like experience.
