"Imagine that you are a chartered accountant who earns R1.2 million and you are given 3 months to prove yourself" also "keep in mind that as a management accountant your priority is to make a profit and increasing t shareholders value" these words changed my life. I am studying management accounting with unisa and i still have x4 MAC modules ahead of me. I go in to every module i study with these words you mentioned. Thank you.
Thanks you Kefentse, I appreciate your comment. You CAN do this! MAC is all about how you approach it and making sure you understand the principles, rather than memorising steps (and "if-this-then-that" formulas). All the best!
A friend of mine is setting up a business and wanted to know what price he should charge for his product. He approached me and asked me to assist him with this task,at that moment I realised the value of management accounting
I was registered with Unisa and I quite due to tha I am faiilg to understand costing and now I am register with MANCOSA i will be better with the tools I am learning from you. Thanks
This is not a textbook definition, but management accounting is the process of compiling and analyzing financial and non-financial information for internal decision-making (e.g. buy vs make a product), planning (e.g. budgets and forecasts) and control (e.g. making sure we don't spend too much).
Every time I read a chapter and attempt a past exam paper I get stuck as I do not understand why they used that instead of what I know when I chek my solution.how do I pass Mann acc
The biggest problem with Mac is that students generally do not understand what the question is asking of them. You should not try to memorise the formulas. Instead, read the question again if you are unsure and try to understand the shape of the problem. What are they really asking (don't assume anything). Then try to solve the problem using whatever topics (tool) you have. When you mark your own attempt later.. ask yourself why you didn't use the topic/tool they did in the solution. Did you not understand what they wanted? Did you not read carefully enough? Understanding each topic is so critical. Memorising something without truly understanding it is not going to work. All the best Francois
The way you approach MAC is super important. You need to make sure you understand the basic principles of each topic before memorising the formulas. You CAN do this!! Make sure to practice examples and questions WITHOUT looking at the solution! That is critical. Then revise theory where necessary. Good luck!
I have done the Mac modules a few times and it's kak. The study material is worlds apart from the assignments and exams. This hasn't really helped with regards to how to tackle the actual study plan to pass
