    Great video, thanks for sharing.
    My routine is very similar. The big difference I do is that I bought a cheap water pump and hose from amazon and also a 133 litre plastic container that fits in my bath. I keep the tank at 24 Celsius so the 133 container helps with controlling temp + treat the water before filling.

    Add a placko live fine in an indoor tank and save your labour cleaning the glass your size tank say 6 bristle noise plackos would work well .

      Not worth the risk keeping plecos with fancy goldfish in my opinion

    Its interesting to find out you dont heat your tank. What does it naturally sit at? I thought it helped reduce the risk of SBD

      It flucates. I would say it gets down to 18 degrees at the bottom of winter and up to about 26 degrees in summer. It also gives the goldfish a bit of seasonal variance, which is good for them

      @@AquaticElements interesting. I live in the UK and am in the process of setting up a 200l tank for 2 ranchu. Would you say I should just leave it room temperature then?

    • @AquaticElements
      @AquaticElements  4 месяца назад

      I personally would leave it at room temp. They will be better at slightly elevated water temps, but I feel for long term it's best to keep them around room temp.

    I just imagine how expensive the water bill is 😭

    • @AquaticElements
      @AquaticElements  4 месяца назад +3

      Total water bill is about £20 a month, think I spend about £5-£8 on water for the tank each month

    Amazing!!! What about their poops? Do you often siphon them or leave it and wait for the filter to do the work?

    • @AquaticElements
      @AquaticElements  4 месяца назад +1

      The filter usually collects them all 😁

    Hi Chris , I really like your sump filtration for your beautiful goldfish. I have an above ground goldfish pond of 1500 litres with 15 goldfish . The pond is made with wood and a pond liner. Do you think there is a way I could incorporate a sump into my pond? 😊

    • @AquaticElements
      @AquaticElements  4 месяца назад

      Awesome! It might be difficult with a liner.i would opt for a shower filter or river style filter with some plants and aquaponic substrate

    You don’t use alkaline buffers or equilibrium or stability on the tank

    • @AquaticElements
      @AquaticElements  3 месяца назад

      I do not no. I don't like using chemicals unless absolutely necessary. My tap water is very hard so buffer is pointless too 🙂

    At 2:50 time stamp your goldfish seems a bit wonky how would you help with that swim bladder?

    • @AquaticElements
      @AquaticElements  4 месяца назад

      They can often be a bit wonky, just part of Fancy Goldfish keeping. There's nothing I'd really do to be honest. Could alter the diet to help, but not much can be done long term

    I recently have anchor worm that came from a fish that i bought off a pet store, i am a newbie hence i miss looking for such precaution. Do you happen to know of a good remedy /cure for anchor worms also have ever encounter this issue & manage to remedy it. At the moment i am pulling them off the anchor worms when it is still at a small stage but they keep on reemerging back slowly. Any help would be appreciated. I am cleaning the tank later after work 😅

      Waterlife do a really good anchor worm treatment that is worth looking into it. I believe it might be called Parazin P
