Thank you for creating this content on the Fluid A2, I have one the same spec on order arriving late October and it's so good to see the bike on video, got me so hyped for when mine arrives!
The TLDR is it stiffens the spring. When on, it reduces chain slap / slows the rotation of the derailleur main pivot. SRAM does not have a clutch as they have a stiffer spring. Shimano has a clutch to allow you to have it on (doing mtb / downhill / choppy ground) or have it off. Which is smoother shifting but wayyyyy more bouncy. Most bikes over a certain number of speeds (and 1x) will have one. (If shimano)
A little more sluggish than my old 29er trance. But that bike was shorter travel than this thing. So far it's felt alright! I don't ride a ton and don't ride different bikes very often to have much a comparison. But since this does have more travel than my last bike I notice that. However Norco's kinematics come into play and the bike doesn't seem to bob too much.
I’ve got this spec on order too but it t looks like I’ll have to wait till next season to see it, because XXL, apparently. I should probably stop watching videos about it. :
Supply levels are crazy. As soon as I got mine I was informed that they were already sold out for the year. Sucks to have to wait but it’s a sick bike for sure. You’ll be happy once your able to pick one up!
@@RobSeymourbikes mine actually ended up coming in last week. I guess another shop cancelled an order so Norco sent it to the next shop in line, which happened to be mine. I’ve been out twice on it so far and it’s fantastic - really happy to be on a XXL now.
You folks that are riding XXL - how tall are you? I'm 6'8" and looking at the fluid, mainly because it comes in XXL. If you're tall, how do you like the Fluid, and what does the XXL feel like?
@@anthonydavidson5073 I’m 1.95m/6’5”. The XXL feels like I’m not hanging off of the back of the bike on climbs, unlike my previous XL Trek Fuel EX. Now I have a nice, upright pedalling position and my weight feels centred over the bike. I really think Norco’s ride-aligned design philosophy works and that the size-specific rear end does the job.
The 2023 fluids are a beauty line up waiting on the FS1 in my size from my local bike shop, cant wait hahah
I just picked up this bike yesterday! I cant wait to get back to Batawa in 2023!

It’s been great so far! Looks amazing.
Toss up for me between the fuel ex 7 and the a2. I have all xt components for both and a lyrik that i will be putting on. Any comparisons?
Newb question. What does the clutch do when in the on/off position? Do most new mountain bikes have a clutch feature on the derailuer?

How are you liking this? Thinking about picking up the A4 for the wife for her first bike
Its been great so far!
I just bought the 2023 fluid a2 in blue an copper. I haven’t had a chance to hit the trails yet with it, thanks for the trail test video.
No worries! I’ve got a few videos loaded up riding the fluid. Some more coming!
Hey Rob, I want to change the shock, but i don't found a 210x50 eye to eye. Can i put a 210x60?
Unfortunately I’m not too sure, sounds like the length is fine, a little wider shouldn’t be an issue but I don’t know 100%
What mountain are you at? and where?
No mountain haha. Local ski hill called Batawa
How does it pedal? Any comparisons to similar bikes?
I’m getting mine tomorrow I’ll update you asap

I can’t decide whether to get this bike or the canyon spectral AL5 29r it’s so hard for me and I only got one week to decide on it
What'd you get?
@@RobSeymourbikes spectral AL 6 125 I caught it on the big Canyon Sale for 2200$ which was originally 3499$ and love it
I get a lot of YT recommendation about this new bike I guess this is one of newest and popular one out there
People seem to be digging the colour. It is a 2023 so it is brand new and in some cases already sold out.
Dam, didn't know Linus had a secret MTB channel
Not the first time I’ve heard that connection!
