I was a delivery man for a little over 2 decades. There's one simple trick I found to keep from running out of gas and that's to fill up at the end of every day when headed back to the warehouse. I know this sounds obvious but I myself didn't figure this out til about the fifth time I ran out of gas. It actually worked out great because I hated to go back the warehouse so this would keep me out a bit longer. I'd check the tires, the oil, the lights, everything, whatever I could to keep from having to back before closing! LOL. Anyway, hopes this helps.

Really nice gesture for Matt to pay for the officers stuff, respect.... Tom gets credit for being smart enough to double check fuel beforehand lol..... Matt really should just get a 500 or 1000 gallon tank & keep it in the yard so it's easy to top off everything before leaving. Can fill up all the vehicles as well as the Snowcat in winter.... E does NOT stand for Enough...

Being proactive and responsible shows his commitment to a smooth and hassle-free journey. Keep up the great decision-making, Tom! 🌟😇👌

From what i see most of the folks aren't prepared to go 4 wheeling. When i got my CJ7 i got stuck twice. Then i started bringing a shovel, chains , and a high lift jack, snap strap, and a come-a-long. Then i would help get others out. All just part of 4 wheeling. No...1 thing is to air down to 10 or 12 psi. And don't take your ride swiming.

While what Matt did was very kind for the police officer and paying for their stuff like that in the drive thru. It can be a huge burden for the workers. My sis who works a fast food job actually made a comment during that part "I hate when people do that". In my shock I asked why. Seems like a nice gesture. And she proceeded to explain that once someone starts the chain, people tend to keep it going for a really long time. And it throws off the order of the food orders so bad it tends to cause a lot of mistakes. And the chance of messing up an order becomes really high. Which in turn causes customer complaints. And depending on how long it goes on for it can take awhile before things get back in the proper flow. And it only can happen once someone breaks the chain. And she said that usually takes longer than one would think. I told her that is surprising. And she ended with telling me sometimes it goes on for so long during rushes that she straight up will brib people with something extra like a free side item etc. just so they wont pay for the next person and break the chain.
I do personally thing it also depends on the system they use. But after this convo it def made me reconsider doing this. Thought I might share.

It worked but Tom should have used the winch to break the suction like Matt taught him. The amount of kinetic energy combined with suction from the mud and water easily causes unnecessary damage that the winch doesn't.
