Hi everyone! Here's my drawing of Crystals in a fantasy art style! This is such a fun drawing to work on and I highly recommend giving it a try. There are lots of options in terms of shapes you can create and the colour choices you could make, and that's why I think it's an enjoyable type of drawing to work on. I really hope this video helps. I always watch these videos twice. Once to just watch it for fun and absorb things, then again but also trying it out and following along. Not many artists draw crystals; I guess it is kind of a niche thing in comparison to people or animals or whatever. I remember doodling jewels on my workbooks when I was a kid so this just brought back memories.
I was actually about to do a fantasy portrait sketch, can't wait to incorporate some crystals! It seems quite fun to draw :)

Remember when you only had a few thousand subscribers and I just couldnt beleive how nobody subscribed to you...ive always wanted to be as good a drawer as you and still do....it blows my mind how far youve gone on youtube and how you're so dedicated in showing us your artwork that i would die happy if i had one ....your a godlike artst to me and always will be dude love your art
I love these types of tutorials. I dedicated one sketchbook where I just practice from RUclips videos. I also write down the youtuber channel name from who I learned from. This way I get to improve my skills but also reduces the time of me deciding on what to draw. Thank you so much.

Ok so I'm taking part in an art trade at the moment and when I got the lines I was supposed to color in (that had crystals in them)
I thought to myself "wait, how do I draw crystals" and immidiately after that the notifacation for this video pops up! It's almost like Chris knew ^_^

It reminds me of the film called "The Dark Crystal." You know The gentle mystics? (Spoiler) I think they have great details to draw when they merged with the skeksi's

Love these videos. How about doing a piece in cheap materials just to give an idea of what can be achieved without the copics or the more expensive jelly roll. I love using jelly roll pens but just thinking about simple materials. Thanks for the awesome content

For some reason your drawings always look a bit awkward at the beginning, but always turn out to be amazing...
I find it amusing in a certain sense, but also great to see how the drawing turns out. There is always an element of surprise when you first watch the video...
By the way, I really like the dragon fantasy art and the Overwatch fanart (I'd suggest maybe Reinhardt or Bastion). More of it would be absolutely great!

Hey Chris, I enjoy, (now use), a lot of the techniques you use. But I never seem to get shading right. I understand where the highlights are needs to be consistent, but I never get it right. Any tips or pointers would be awesome. Alsdo for the next fantasy art, a galaxy dragon would be really cool to see.

I usually buy supplies online, unless I see something in a shop that I want to try out.

Nice, when you are doing a time laps you could (if you want) have it in real time for like 4-10 seconds and then do timelaps again, it's easier to follow your proces and see how you do the linework and coloring ;D, it would also be cool if you time it to the music!

Is coloring the only way to create that glossy look on the crystals? Or is it possible to make a glossy, translucent look in black and white pencil? I don't have access to any higher end coloring material and I can't lay down a good blend.

Btw, here are some suggestions that I think would be really interesting to watch and hopefully fun to produce as well:
A draw my life would be nice to watch to get to know you and your art better. Since most of your fanbase have watched you for a while (as far as I know), I feel like a video in which you explain how youtube made its way into your life etc would make really well.
Also, every time I watch a video of yours, I realize how soothing your voice is. Maybe you could consider reading short stories out to use instead of the music in your videos. Not that I dislike the music, it's just a suggestion.
