Seriously ? these jerks illegally enter a fully boarded up site knowing full well that they were not supposed to be there, dressed in black, with backpacks. And you blame a policewoman who is just doing her job, having been called up by understandably nervous neighbours !
As for being high on power, No ! she's just pissed off that she yet again has to waste her time on dicks like these guys who have zero respect for other people's property.
Did it occur to you that people own that building and obviously have plans for it. There is a lot of very valuable stuff in there. If it was your building would you want any randoms off the street breaking in to it?.... How are cops supposed to know these twerps weren't there to steal. They had the packs to carry stuff out.
If I was the building owner I would be furious that the cops let them off so lightly ! As I am sure the cops are furious, having been lied to at the end about future activities of this bunch of repeat offenders (police love giving warnings only to learn that they are being ignored and basically spat on by people they are giving the benefit of the doubt to ! )

Guys, I understand and appreciate the effort you put into your videos and you all seem to be pretty straight forward with your interest in these abandoned buildings, checking some of its history etc. It is difficult in some places for young men like yourself to do this when neighbours around the buildings get a little edgy, especially if that area is known for drug use and the Police rightly so did explain it at the end. Just going through the motions. My question is, the buildings you find, do you ever try to get the owners permission so you can get full proper safe entry and hard hats and boots (or wellies and waterproofs Ref Ayr Station Hotel) You have a interest in the history and architecture and you're not out to cause vandalism or wreck the place therefore keep the neighbours happy. Also to keep yourselves safe in case of collapse. One other thing - is all your equipment insured.
Stay safe and sound and happy exploring.

    • @dizzyology7514

I enjoy these videos and I've often had the same thought. But if the owners were to grant access to a team of teenaged amateurs for exploration of sites that are inherently unsafe, think of the legal liabilities the owners might run into if something nasty happened. The owners might grant permission to a team of experienced professionals filming a buildimg for historical records, but even this would be iffy should (say) a roof collapse killing members of the team. Here we have an enthusiastic and well-mannered bunch of lads whose mission is to post RUclips videos for their (and our) entertainment. In this example, once it became clear that the team was not out to steal anything or destroy anything, the police treated them with respect, but they still had to emphasize their basic poiint: "Don't come back here."

Have you ever considered tackling an exploration by turning up in a white van, parking right outside and walking in (as best you can, of course) whilst wearing boiler suits, helmets, hi-vis jackets and carrying your cameras in a container like that intended for civil inspection equipment? These comments slating the police response are ridiculous. Buildings like these are regular targets for lead and copper theft, general burglary and even arson. 4 people entering such a building wearing black, with masks is quite rightly going to attract suspicion and a suitable response from police. Yes, their search was lawful. Yes, they could have lawfully arrested these explorers on suspicion of burglary. This is why it is so important for Urbexers to interact respectfully and cooperate with police.

Trespass is a civil matter. The only thing the police can do is escort you off the property and tell you not to do it again. The suspected claims of burglary are totally unfounded and are used primarily as a scare tactic. You were well within your rights not to answer any questions and the interest in your car, (and it's contents), plus, whether you planned to do any other buildings in the area was, quite frankly, none of their business.

I have to say, when the police turned up, a policeman and woman, they were very good. We knew we shouldn’t have been there of course, and they laughed because I couldn’t get back through the gap in the fence. They explained that they had been called, and also explained why we shouldn’t be there. It was all very informal, and they showed a genuine interest in ghost hunting, and politely declined to join us in a future investigation. There was at no time a request to see the equipment we were using, but we showed them anyway. It was all very pleasant and friendly, and we were very politely asked not to go in there again.

      Wrong.
They had every right to search the vehicle under Section 1 of PACE.
Being their "private property" is irrelevant. In this type of situation a warrant is not required, which unfortunately a lot of people are lead to believe as they become experts after watching too much American TV. The end of the day, It's a vehicle. Its on scene. It's the mode of transport the Urbandoned crew used to travel to the scene of the callout.
The lads entered a building as trespassers, and at the time of being intercepted on site, their intentions are unknown.
They guys could well be carrying items for going equipped to steal, stolen goods, or even be driving around in a stolen vehicle to facilitate other crimes. People do lie about being Urbexers to try and fool the cops into letting them off, so as not to be subject to a search.
Absolutely no criticism to the guys as I love their work, and admire their attitude.
As for the police, someone called them in good faith and they, for once, responded in good time and caught potential burglars at the scene of a potential crime.
Both sides dealt with the incident appropriately.

Section 1 of PACE stop search.
Most certainly had reasonable grounds to suspect that the lads may have had stolen goods, or items used for Going Equipped to Steal.
The grounds of the search being that the Urbandoned lads had been detained inside a building acting as trespassers, and at that time their intentions are unknown.
In UK law a burglary is committed at the time a person enters a building as a trespasser with the intention to steal, carry out damage, etc, etc.
Obviously people lie to them regarding their nefarious activities, so I'm guessing the responding officers wanted to cover all bases and ensure the car didn't contain anything illegal.
Fair play to all sides in the way it was handled. Impressed by the maturity of the Urbandoned guys.

As it would be a very interesting Church to see in its full glory with all of its artefact detailing glad you all managed to get out safely and had not much repercussions from the (Police) and it just goes to show that all that amount of policing there was a total wasteful resourcing 👍😊

What gives them the right to search your car? I know you don’t want to upset them or piss them off but I don’t think they had enough to search your car. If you were equipped to break in with tools etc. then they can search the car. I think they were being very nosey!

The sad thing about this kind of thing happening is that folks who aren't even aware of the Urban Ex topic/community have no idea that you guys are all just trying to document places of historical and societal importance before it's destroyed, and in some cases even try to protect these valuable places. If only everyone understood what the UrbEx community and CCs are trying to do there'd be no issues. I understand the safety worries of folks, and ofc the fear by residents, especially if they've had a lot of burlgaries around the neighbourhood, but if they really thought about it, would potential burglars be stood around in broad daylight in the open, on the main road for hours for everyone to watch.
