Alfa Romeo built an absolute legend with his car. We didn't deserve it then and we don't deserve it now. It's imperfectly perfect. Flawed and flawless at the same time. Great review of a special car.
I am on my 4th Alfa 4C. I love them. Things that need to be done for a good drive: Michelin PS4S tyres (much better grip than Pirelli), Stage 1 upgrade to 280bhp (flows better), Geometry set up by @Alfaworks (reduces the pulling you felt), Quicksilver exhaust (gets rid of drone at 70mph on motorways).
Agree on tires, i sued the Michelin Cup2 and it handled so much better in my case. I live in a very hot climate with low rain so i can getaway with using the Cup2
@@DrivenPlusinteresting thing, the Spider’s interior is has far less engine noise and there’s usable rear visibility in the rear view mirror. I’m also a big fan of the Spider’s rear “nostrils” in the engine lid.
@@DrivenPlus the oddball (yet secure from break in) convertible top is a winner, BUT when stowed in the trunk, it consumes almost all cargo space. Pack light!!!
Love these. Was seriously thinking of getting one but needed rear seats. Giulia Quad won out….. I still want one 😍 The twin clutch is a dry set up too for more weight saving. If you hold the DNA toggle in D, you activate Race mode. All the dials go yellow and you get a bit more overboost and less TC
Why anyone would review a 4c without the geo shims that fix the steering I really don’t know. It changes the handling from terrible to awesome immediately. Without the mod it’s dangerous, with it, it’s magic.
Oh and another tidbit for the launch control, I believe they've got a second stage, so if you "downshift" while engaging it revs up to 6k rpms and spins the tires, but thats what I have with mine, idk if all have it
I owned mine for over 8 years and still love it. It is niche, not very practical but fantastic. Get it maintained and improved by Alfaworks and then enjoy.
Didn’t even know these existed until I saw one today. White, similar number plate 04 .(2014)Lovely looking. This particular one would seem to have mileage issues. A discrepancy of just over 44000 reduced mileage 😮according to check car details website.
For a complete and more exhaustive evaluation you should try the Alpine A110 R. With the R we have a different yardstick. In terms of technical, chassis and driving characteristics, the Alpine is in a superior category. After all, it would be enough to listen to Gordon Murray. Greetings and congratulations for the beautiful channel
Great review - so much BS written about these cars by so called car experts - but you got the essence of it. I race one for the Alfaworkshop, and we developed a front steering geometry mod. that will cure the tramlining - plus a 280 BHP ECU that also remaps the gears. That will give you a sub 4 60 MPH (God knows why anyone needs to sub-4 on the roads …) my sponsor’s car has both mods. and they transform it. For reference, the teledial wheels are 18/19 - we race on 17/18 on the roads, and the 17/18 option probably makes it a better road car. I think it’s a superb car - future classic for sure. We look after three quarters of the 400 or so in the UK. If I had the money, it’s what I would buy for myself 👌
In my opinion you have to compare 4C with an A110 and Lotus Elise/Exige. But then it's not as pure as the Lotus, and not as comfy as a A110. It's a compromise where it gets the worst of both. Still a great car, but the alternatives are just better. Except for looks, the 4C looks amazing!
i Don't understand why you said , it cant be a commute ? is that to say you cant drive it everyday , why not ? is that same as having an Audi R8 to drive everyday , is wrong as well ?
Unassisted powered steering doesn’t help commuting. The ease of getting in and out and the small boot space. Obviously you can commute in it if you choose to?
Yes, it's pretty, but where are they now! Dead! Their weight savings idiocy drove them to cancelation. It has no frunk. It has no power steering and tramlines ridiculously. They went in the opposite direction of Porsche, Corvette, and even Lotus, who have brought the Emira to the party. Who cares what clarkson thought? This car failed massively! I respect Chris Harris far more than clarkson, and Harris thought they missed a great opportunity with their minimalist thinking.
Maybe they weren't the bestseller for alfa romeo but I don't think that was what they where aiming for. I do know they where around 35000 euro a few year's ago and now they are around 75 so I guess something must be right about the 4c.
Love these. Probably one of the prettiest cars of its age, and quite raw. (That’s a good thing). Interesting what you say about the gearbox, it’s the same reason I love PDK in a GT3. Mad, light or high revving cars suit a dual clutch.

Thanks Paul! Totally agree with you 👌
😂
It just needs the American headlights. I hate those insect eyes the European versions have.

Would love to experience this with the changes
I have one aswell, but i fitted a downpipe for the better flow. Feels like an atmosferic engine now. Really good on track.

@@pyroteamsoest which one did you get? I am looking for doing a downpipe and catdelet
I want to buy one as well. With my salary I can barely afford one so having second thoughts, but it’s my dream “budget” supercar. Why sold it 3 times?
Excellent review! I’ve owned my 4C Spider for 6 years and, even with your short time behind the wheel, you get it!!!
Thank you! I would love to experience the spider too 👌👌

Well done!! I have had one since 2018. Love.
I would definitely prefer the spider then 👌

I Have One bought 5 years ago! I will give it to my sons! This Car Is Mega!! Trust me! Few modifications at the stearing! And you will love It❤️🍀❤️
That is awesome!
Can you adopt me?
Same here. I bought mine five years back and still loving it
A wonderful toy for those weekends or sunny summer evening blasts to help clear the mind
I have one and it's a blast to drive and a joy to own! Very cool review by the way!
Thank you and it definitely is a blast to drive 😎

And I’ve just got to the end of the video and it’s for sale 👀
Anyone want to buy a kidney 😅
Perfect for you Dan
The whole thing is Italian. Most importantly, the whole thing is Alfa Romeo. ❤️
❤️
Yeah agree. And literally if you look at the content on the build sheet it is nearly 100% Italian.
First video of yours that I’ve watched. I love the enthusiasm and the overall vibe of the video. You appreciate the car fir what it is. Great job.
Thank you! I highly appreciate that
Lotus owner here; picked up a Giulia and now I'm totally intrigued by the 4C. I must be a masochist.
4C is a great car, definitely worth taking one for a spin
3:15 😂 ciao da un Italiano amante della 4 C...
Bel video 👏

Thanks my man!
"this car with its headlights on constantly looks like its mildly amused with whatever your doing" 10/10
I got a red spider. I got a carbon fibre hardtop from Germany, so much better than the cloth top. I have no regrets getting this car. It is so fun!

I will have to give it a go. Thank you for commenting and thank you for your kind words
Problem is though the A110 R is knocking on for £90K, whereas a 4c is half the price
I loved owning that car. Sadly had to sell it. I’d love to get another. Same spec as this except with the American front lights
Enjoyed the vlog and your presenting style. The Alfa 4C is a good looking car (tho I'm not convinced by the headlights).
Thanks Kevin 😎 the lights are cool close up with the carbon fibre touches
I love the original headlights. Was wondering if you can replace the new ones with the old ones. 🤔
It's a proper fun car.
Ooohh that’s a good noise! 🔥

Thanks! Really enjoyed my time behind the wheel. Thanks for the info on the wheels 👍 definitely a future classic
Wonder how do you manage to get a 4 sec 0-60. Were you on little downhill?
Cause with mine I got a 4.2 with lunch control but thats it.
It was flat slope, tyres can be a big factor!
Love the 4c. Had some fun against one on the ashdown forest, whilst on my gsxr 1000.
Loved your review but i have to ask..
4C or A110
A110 for me. I fell in love with that car

should just get a A112 instead. 😉
“It’s all over the shop” because tyre pressures out , unless geometry needs adjustment
Which part of the country was this filmed in please?
Thanks in advance ✌️
North Wales 🏴

He forgot the Race Mode. Press up button for 5 seconds.
Your first line made me feel old 😞
(and im not)
Brillante
headlights overly complicated
engine is kinda pathetic tho for the price, aleast make it a tt or a larger displacement
Drive one you’ll change your mind
Looks a bit annoying to look over your shoulder for traffic, big curved pillar in the way
Just about every review slates this car an absolute disaster
disaster is a bit harsh . lol The ones I've read enjoyed it but not a fan of no power steering.
Love Alfas, dislike turbos and tiny chick cars.
What is a chick car?
sounds like the 4c is crap. Lots of compromises with twitchy, hard to drive steering.
I wouldn’t say crap. They just need a few geometry tweaks and you’re good to go
