Sheriff Rocky Holcomb's first year in office, 9-29-24.

One year ago today (9-29-24), former Sheriff Ken Stolle retired after 13 years of service and Sheriff Rocky Holcomb took the oath of office as the seventh Sheriff of Virginia Beach and the first to rise through the ranks. In the last year, we have accomplished so much together, including:
-Creating the VBSO’s first Consumer Protection Unit;
-Expanding the office’s Community Engagement efforts, including events such as Sheriff Rocky Holcomb’s Turkey Bowl and Easter Eggstravaganza, Splash into Summer at Ocean Breeze Waterpark, the Back-to-School Sk8 Bash and more;
-Creating the Road to Hope to give inmates a path to rehabilitation;
-Expanding the K9 Unit with the region’s first fentanyl-detecting K9 and woman handler;
-Lobbying to reinstate the D.A.R.E. program in Virginia Beach schools; and more.
It has been a great year and we’re excited for what the future has to bring!
