Great analysis, but I’m sorry, I think it looks fairly obvious that the face emerging out of Mark’s skull at the end of the title sequence is his own, not Helly’s. The eyebrow is a dead giveaway!
Two questions. One: why would Jame Eagan be mad at Helena since it's Helly who messed up. He literally allowed his daughter to actually undergo severance, knowing that it creates a whole different person. Two: first episode makes it look like it takes place immediately after the season 1 events. Mark S wakes up at the severed floor just after the OTC ends and Milchick says it's been 5 months, which is actually true and confirmed in episode 2 when we see the montage of outtie Mark going to work day by day. Does that actually mean there's a 3rd severed, innie persona that experienced those 5 months at work or did Lumon just not activate the innie consciousness for 5 months until they sorted things out?

You skipped this scene, but Irving's payphone call has the feel of someone talking to their ex. Not sure if that is Burt or maybe his partner (Ernie?) Especially the early part where he is saying of course you won't pick up.
I wonder if they had a relationship, maybe at Lumon, before severing. My 8nnie got the message, being a bit of a lie, that the indie won't bother them again because he got a message to them to leave them alone. That is why I wonder if it was Ernie and you have an angry jealous Burt following him. Story wise, it would make more sense for it to have beem Burt. Thinking some scenario were Burt made Irving choose and Irving did not choose Burt.
I assumed him saying “I understand why you didn’t pick up” is because of the sensitivity of the call/information itself.
It sounded like a cat scream and then a Wilhelm scream when Ms. Cobel loses it in the car.
What if the board is not a board of directors, but is instead a circuit board where the consciousness of the previous CEOs are stored? It would explain why they are absent.
21:30 does anyone else hear a Wilhelm scream? 😆
Here’s a simple but fun theory, Maybe they are all literally dead in hell/afterlife? And there is a way to wake up, or come out of pergatory.
What about Irving and his phone call and being followed by Burt
Exactly. One of the biggest scenes in the episode and not even a mention of it !
Burt seems to be catching on
the set was called “cold harbour” while shooting i work at bell works
None of the severed characters are shown to have physical scars from their severance procedure. There is no reason to assume Rebeck is severed.
@13:43 How many times do people associated with LOST have to say it was NEVER purgatory? Maybe you need to watch the Getting Lost doc that just dropped ;-)
😊 HELENA WILL ULTIMATELY HELP MARK FREE GEMMA 😊
the full parking lot of boxy ~'80s cars kinda makes all the anachronistic tech on the severance floor maybe not be anachronistic and just current? Helena video recorder and TV is also anachronistic for the real world. so like a weird version of the '80s but they happen to have cell phones?
have we ever seen the parking lot that full? i'm thinking not. maybe all the people were called in to do things like make an entire stop-motion video in 2 days. (unlikely!)
yeah wth thought milchik was going pretty fast for it being cold and icy
Should outie Irv already know Mr. Mlichick? I was confused by that
He onboards the severed employees most likely as he did for Helena so they would have at least met him at that time
When mark calls off in season 1 he also talks to Millchek
I think there’s something to frolic guy’s reaction to hearing about the shut down 5X branch and their animatronic prosperity wing. What if they’re not just animatronics and are early stage clones and that’s why it’s a house.
Great analysis, but I’m sorry, I think it looks fairly obvious that the face emerging out of Mark’s skull at the end of the title sequence is his own, not Helly’s. The eyebrow is a dead giveaway!
So why does “Helena” get wanded from behind but all others get wanded from the front before heading into the elevator?
Is that Covells car in the new opening credits?
Exactly what I needed!
They didn't get Helly R, they got Hellena, that's mischievous face.
Who also thought what in the game of thrones intro is going on lol ?
