this is how it really goes,
ultra early:void sword, raiders axe, aote
earlygame: livid dagger, atod
midgame:giant sword
early late game and above: hype

Huh there are many other items that are good/better:
earlygame i recoment the raiders axe it might deals less damage but you deal enough damage to onetap everything you want (in the earlygame)
Midgame i recomment AoTD with the belt that buffs it. It just out classes the livid dagger or if you have a maxed fellsword use this - It is the best item out of these 3.
Well in the later game state there are only 3 swords for damage... dark C., giant, and shadow furry... just use the sword you can afford and use.
There are other weapons but i just dont think they are worth getting besides the slayer weapons and the Daederlus axe. They are really good but you can only use them in some cases.

@@hyugosama1739 i mean you can use it and with the warped reforge it is quite good. But the other weapons i mentioned are better and cheaper so use them. But if you want to use AoTE as your earlygame sword use the Strong Dragon Armor.
In that case your progression should be something like that:
AoTE (aspect of the end) and any armor ->Strong Dragon armor (Budget armor could be Rotten armor) +AoTE
Early midgame:
->AoTD (Aspect of the Dragon) + Dragonfused Gauntlett.
-> next armor: Superior Dragon armor or SA (Shadow assassin Armor)
Keep in mind that there are many other items worth getting like every talismans (that you get while playing the game. Btw. Talismans are really important you should get as many as you can), reforge stones like silky/Hurtfull, wand of Healing (and every upgrade from it you get this from zombie slayer), and raidiant orb/manaflux orb(wolf slayer), etc. If you want i can check your profile and tell you what you should do next.
