    This was first shown in July 2019, why repeat it now as though it's a new episode?

    11:05 motivation is important. The crew talks about personality types, and how they would work together.

    There's only one thing I would change about the simulation. Have the background being displayed in the windows spin to simulate geocentric force. If they have gravity in the pod, the pod would have to be rotating at a certain speed to simulate that. And short of literally having a rotating pod, simply showing the "space" outside spinning would make it more realistic.

      I think they are thinking in terms of pretty small things, and using centrifugal forces to simulate earth's gravity requires huge ships, because otherwise "gravity" will impact different heights of a human and cause huge problems. NASA thinks in falcon heavy/vulcan and orion size, not Starship size

    Fascinating show as per usual, with a depth of coverage and likable presenters that make it engrossing. I thought the NASA robot was rather slow next to Boston Dynamics Atlas, who can now move without pulleys and overhead cabling, perhaps they could strike a deal with NASA to offer their robots for the mission, or an adapted model?
    I'd love to go to space, as an INTJ science nut who is also an artist and very practical, but my sense of surreal humour would probably drive everyone else crazy lol!

    • @MotoGoato

      BD's Atlas makes this Nasa effort look like a toy ... as Nasa are already working with BD's Spot robot dogs (for potentially exploring Mars) I don't get why they are wasting funds trying to develop their own bipedal robot 🤷‍♂️

    For efficiency, since there is a 10 min delay is better to have e conversation in sets of 10 or more questions at once and then the answers for a wider bandwidth in communication

    • @Ruzzky_Bly4t
      @Ruzzky_Bly4t 2 года назад

      If questions aren't interdependent, this is probably how it will be done. But when an answer to a question determines what question will be asked next, you would still have to wait for 10 minutes.

    0:48 I believe this would be easier with a 3D mouse such as those made by 3Dconnexion. That way you would only have one thing to control the vehicle with.
    8:45 I do see one such device here.

    • @Chris.Davies
      @Chris.Davies 3 года назад

      Nope. You can't properly control 2 independent axles sufficiently well with a Space Navigator.
      I own one, and can assure you of this fact.
      Also, joysticks and such things are the worst possible controllers for a wheeled vehicle. But you are unaware of this basic fact.
      That is why the wonderful "steering wheel" was invented.
