Some people like that, most don't. That's not how most people play and interact but extremes are easy to focus on. Best to come and try it for yourself. ☺️ I'd also point out that the greatest of Shakespeare's plays are mostly shown on a small stage, and yet amazing stories can still be told.
this is likely out there somewhere but I did all previous steps for the installation and stuff, (I already have rockstar's launcher on steam aswell), and when I click RedM, it starts loading and what not but it never asks me for file directory, Instead it just crashes and says that I can't be in Administrator. What did I do wrong?
When I open the installer it doesn't ask where to find the game and simply continues, everything remains normal, the launcher opens and shows the servers and you can even connect and play, but when I close the launcher it disappears, it's as if nothing had been installed, when I go to the game folder only there is the installer executable which every time asks to link the rockstar account and the "RedM Application Data" folder. It also doesn't create a shortcut on the desktop, I've tried disabling Windows Defender and the error still persists
It kinda sounds like you've completed it to be honest if you ended up with RedM open and servers available to connect to. It won't automatically create a desktop shortcut, I just make them myself. If the folder you mention contains two things RedM Application Data and RedM, that's it. The RedM one with the little red icon is RedM, make a shortcut of that and pop it on your desktop if you want and then go have fun trying out servers. My guess is it just knew where your game was and didn't need you to go find it.
just keeps telling me "failed with CURLcode 23 - failure writing output destination Are you sure you have enough disk space on all drives?" when I have over a TB of free space... I have it installed on my D drive, as well as RDR2 on the D drive, but apparently, it just keeps trying to use the C drive...
I have the following problem: the servers only let me play on if i have Steam opened i opened it and it wont work i dont have RDR2 on Steam just on rockstar
Yes lots of servers use steam as an identifier, you don't need the game on steam. Make sure you have steam open and the rockstar launcher before you try to open RedM. Try the whole computer restart and make sure you're allowlisted on the server too. Contact the server you're trying to join's support team if you're still having issues. Good luck!
Every time I get to the part where I allow it access, it says, "let rockstar installer affect you device?" like every other time I have turned the game on. Then it just loads the game up, and Redm closes.
Have you ever played the base game? If not it's probably needing you to play for a bit so it can download all the bits it needs for RedM to work. Did you start with the launcher open? Are you clicking on play game in the launcher, I don't quite understand why it's opening otherwise? You have to allow it access every time? That seems odd. Have you checked a virus protector isn't nuking it?
@@RedMRoleplay I ended up getting it to work. It was none of those problems but thank you so much for the quick response. And yeah, I still have to say allow every time. Had to for years.
For some reason, I do all the steps and I open RedM and says it's analyzing the game content, then out of knowhere it just closes and I've been doing that. And when I installed it it didn't open my file explorer, to link the (exe.) file. So idk what to do and I've been having this issue for the past 2 days.
Have you played the main game, story or online, for at least about 10 mins? You can also try verifying the game files in steam to see if that helps too.
@@aviator_e I can't really help without more information. Clearly something is not working so one of the steps if missing. Have you checked your virus protector isn't blocking it? Write out all of your steps and maybe we'll spot the issue?
All servers are different. Many now use the built in voice chat for RedM called Mumble. However if you want to play on a server that uses Teamspeak, check out my how to download Teamspeak and Saltychat video!
You need the game RDR2 or RDO. I'm pretty sure that's what I mean. If you've bought and installed the game, then it might be when I'm talking about finding the file when RedM asks for the game directory. You don't need to copy any files.
how do you make redm full screen? my mouse doesnt work properly on redm at all in window mode which seems to be default, cant select anything, any ideas?
RedM should be full screen by default, but the game might be windowed borderless, only after you join a server can you access the game settings so I'd close RedM and go into the original game, RDO or story, and change settings there, then you can try RedM. If you need to tweak anything once on a server you can do so.
When I do it instead of my files it just opens the rockstar sign in saying it couldn’t automatically sign me in even though I’ve played it with the launcher and have auto sign in enabled
So I downloaded the application and it didnt make me search for the red dead file through Steam at all. It just automatically booted up and worked. Did I accidentally skip something? Or is this still fine even if it does this?
If you can tell me the timestamp that might help but generally I'd say, did you make sure the rockstar launcher was open, did you make sure you have a social account it can link to, check if it needs you to sign in etc.
Have you done everything in the tutorial? Opened the game for the first time? Have steam and Rockstar launcher open? Signed in? Checked a firewall hasn't blocked it? Etc
From what I know your single-player RDR2 mods don't affect RedM so you should be fine, but anything that affects online (for example, private server files/workarounds etc), that affects or changes the connection will also affect RedM (afaik). Basically don't try to use your own mods on a RedM server as each server has be modded to their own specifications and you need to play within those parameters. Check with the specific server discord support if you want to know more.
Actually, crazy cause I just picked up red dead today and was looking into playing it with redm. I just wanna walk around and be a fisherman lol.

Not certain how to help with this, might just be good to clear some space on your c drive and then move it to D once it's downloaded?
