It looks like they have added a whitelist application now but it's not coming up when you joint he discord. Go to Channels & Roles at the top and Browse Channels, then at the bottom of the list you'll find Whitelist Area and apply-here. Then work your way through their application which is discord based via Appy just like in my Yellowstone video. Sorry things change really fast in the world of RedM and my videos keep being put out of date quickly. D'oh!

Also in reference to your response to Hadez, in my permissions tab on teamspeak, there is no "options" option. There is also no "plugins" option either.

Not sure what you mean cos you don't "save it" as a teamspeak add on. With teamspeak closed, just go to where you downloaded saltychat, double click on it and it should pop up and ask for you to install. Open teamspeak and check if it's listed under the plugins tab. If not go to Tools, Options and Addons, see if it's in the list and enable if it's not already.

If you've already reacted to it you won't see the channel anymore. Can you see the whole discord? Try accessing the actual RedM server and see if you get in.

Try going into RDO and changing your settings there first. Then when you're in the server you want check the settings and make changes. It sometimes says you need to restart the game but you don't usually need to. See if that helps. Regarding character select I'm really not sure what you mean or what could be happening. Best to share that in the server discord as it might be specific to that server and they can help better cos you can share images etc.

@@RedMRoleplay hi, I managed to figure it out. Regarding the character selection that was just me being stupid and repeatedly pressing the wrong key bind. As for the settings, I just needed to lower my graphics, which for some reason were up to ultra, and then I was able to change the settings without restarting

Most of the time you can change keybinds in the game settings when on the server but I suggest that you ask on the server discord for specific server based questions like this.

Have you ever played the base game? If not it's probably needing you to play for a bit so it can download all the bits it needs for RedM to work. Did you start with the launcher open? Are you clicking on play game in the launcher, I don't quite understand why it's opening otherwise? You have to allow it access every time? That seems odd. Have you checked a virus protector isn't nuking it?

@@RedMRoleplay I ended up getting it to work. It was none of those problems but thank you so much for the quick response. And yeah, I still have to say allow every time. Had to for years.

There are some non RP servers and I'll be exploring them more. I'm still discovering new things all the time. Are you wanting to play with others or alone? There are servers that just do horse treks etc and don't really RP but they are still social. If you don't want to be social at all then possibly the base game with a mod to make your own character or making your own RedM server the way you like it is also a good option but much more work. Non hostile could be hard to find due to the nature of the game but I'll keep looking and update you in future videos!

@@RedMRoleplay i don't mind servers that are alive! i just am not huge into roleplaying is all, id be cool playing mute in all honesty. I focus more on the virtual photography aspect of the game, and sometimes Arthur gets boring lol

RedM should be full screen by default, but the game might be windowed borderless, only after you join a server can you access the game settings so I'd close RedM and go into the original game, RDO or story, and change settings there, then you can try RedM. If you need to tweak anything once on a server you can do so.

Did you follow the video steps? Did you make sure Teamspeak was closed when downloading salty? You shouldn't need to open the salty download, try opening Teamspeak again and look to see if saltychat is ready for you under plugins, cos it probably is.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm certainly planning to dive into more servers so I can get bead on how they feel, the mechanics, the style and quality of RP etc. It's a future series for sure. Any particular server you're curious about?

@@RedMRoleplay at this point anything and everything. The current RUclips market for red dead RP is surrounded by trolling and getting reactions out of people. Not really seeing what a server offers both pros and cons. There is really no way to know what a server offers unless you join or watch streams and get a general idea. So I think a rating series would provide a good guideline for newbies and veterans

Each server is different. Yellowstone uses the built in voice chat called Mumble. So you just need to make sure you go so audio settings once in game and turn voice chat on.

No not necessarily, but they could. There is no right or wrong answer. Delving into WHY this particular character has an issue with one person is a great way to start. That's a great way to proceed. The point is to keep it in character and use it to help steer the story, not treat it as a personal thing.

@@RedMRoleplay The problem is when the conflict is one sided only the sadistic winner have fun unless the other is a masochist.

This kinda sounds like a separate issue to me but one that might be good to talk about in a future video. I'm not really talking about a one sided conflict, both gangs are in conflict in this scenario, it's just that one character in particular seems to target you. I'm also always going to assume that that other person is RPing to a high level, so they have a character reason and motivation for this targeting. So rather than feeling it's one sided and unwarranted and personal, you should lean into it and look at how to add to that RP and use to to drive your character's story. By diving into it and moving from just violence to conversations, maybe you find out that a previous action of your character lead to something that seriously affected the other character, who now blames your character. Or maybe when they admit to something like this, it's learned that they thought something was your character but it wasn't and suddenly the whole conflict could get turned on it's head. Everything that happens in game (action, dialogue etc) is an "Offer" in improv terms (something else I'll talk about in future videos) and you want to accept that offer and provide your own. Lastly, maybe it's just me but I personally love a good underdog story, where we follow the character who seems least likely to succeed or win, but they fight through to overcome seemingly impossible hardships.

It kinda sounds like you've completed it to be honest if you ended up with RedM open and servers available to connect to. It won't automatically create a desktop shortcut, I just make them myself. If the folder you mention contains two things RedM Application Data and RedM, that's it. The RedM one with the little red icon is RedM, make a shortcut of that and pop it on your desktop if you want and then go have fun trying out servers. My guess is it just knew where your game was and didn't need you to go find it.

I don't know of any at the moment but may discover some and reveal them as I explore more and make more videos. I think there might be some that allow 16+ but not sure about 14+. The thing is you have to remember that the original game is rated M for Mature so "have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain mature sexual themes, more intense violence and/or strong language."

Have you played the main game, story or online, for at least about 10 mins? You can also try verifying the game files in steam to see if that helps too.

@@aviator_e I can't really help without more information. Clearly something is not working so one of the steps if missing. Have you checked your virus protector isn't blocking it? Write out all of your steps and maybe we'll spot the issue?

Hopefully you'll find my videos useful then :-) If you're serious about RP you'll probably be looking for servers that are allowlisted/whitelisted or at least need you to be their discord before you can play. I'm pretty sure most will need discord at least but if I discover different on my explorations of servers I'll let you know! That's kinda the whole point of this series.

If you can tell me the timestamp that might help but generally I'd say, did you make sure the rockstar launcher was open, did you make sure you have a social account it can link to, check if it needs you to sign in etc.

You need the game RDR2 or RDO. I'm pretty sure that's what I mean. If you've bought and installed the game, then it might be when I'm talking about finding the file when RedM asks for the game directory. You don't need to copy any files.

Yes as you can see in the video, a PC copy of RDR2 is good and is what I use for the tutorial.
