Oh yes you need it open if the server requires it, and you need to log into the server's Teamspeak details so you can talk to people using it.

I'm afraid I'm not part of the server so have no sway over bans. I will say that bans are always for a reason and it's best to think back to what happened and why you were banned, cos if you don't acknowledge what you did you are likely to make the same mistake again. Learn from your mistakes.

All servers are different. Many now use the built in voice chat for RedM called Mumble. However if you want to play on a server that uses Teamspeak, check out my how to download Teamspeak and Saltychat video!

Some people like that, most don't. That's not how most people play and interact but extremes are easy to focus on. Best to come and try it for yourself. ☺️ I'd also point out that the greatest of Shakespeare's plays are mostly shown on a small stage, and yet amazing stories can still be told.

I'm still exploring a bunch myself but I think there's probably no such thing as the perfect server. I've had amazing RP with just 6 people on a server before and felt very lonely on a server with large pop. So I understand. There are good and bad players everywhere so don't give up on a server if you have a bad experience, you might find great people right around the corner. I know great RPers on WildRP, TRP, Ranch, Darraknoir etc so I'd recommend those as a place to try. If you experience poor RP just keep your head and maintain your character and just move on to another area, group when you're able. I hope that helps and I'll be doing more videos about servers so hopefully can give you inspiration.

TRP is an allowlisted server with a simple website application and a pretty quick response time.

Yes lots of servers use steam as an identifier, you don't need the game on steam. Make sure you have steam open and the rockstar launcher before you try to open RedM. Try the whole computer restart and make sure you're allowlisted on the server too. Contact the server you're trying to join's support team if you're still having issues. Good luck!

Nope it sounds like you're fine. It will only ask if it can't find the file on it's own.

From what I know your single-player RDR2 mods don't affect RedM so you should be fine, but anything that affects online (for example, private server files/workarounds etc), that affects or changes the connection will also affect RedM (afaik). Basically don't try to use your own mods on a RedM server as each server has be modded to their own specifications and you need to play within those parameters. Check with the specific server discord support if you want to know more.

Not every server has a whitelist application, some just use a discord role that you can get by just clicking a button in the server's discord. Some also switch between whitelisting applications and a simpler discord role as apparently Syn does. So you could just wait for it to switch and then go play. It's also good to remember that most servers are free to play and a bunch of people have often put in a lot of work, time and money to make and run the server, so it's pretty reasonable that they want to ask you a few simple questions before they open the door for you to play.

It looks like they have added a whitelist application now but it's not coming up when you joint he discord. Go to Channels & Roles at the top and Browse Channels, then at the bottom of the list you'll find Whitelist Area and apply-here. Then work your way through their application which is discord based via Appy just like in my Yellowstone video. Sorry things change really fast in the world of RedM and my videos keep being put out of date quickly. D'oh!

Also in reference to your response to Hadez, in my permissions tab on teamspeak, there is no "options" option. There is also no "plugins" option either.

You're correct! Oops, I misspoke, I meant Tools then Options... I've edited the comment.

What I did clear cashe. Uninstalled TeamSpeak. Uninstalled salty chat. Restart PC. Downloaded TeamSpeak 3 the exact version they recommend. Installed to speak three. Closed team speak three. Downloaded salty chat. Double click salty chat not right click. Installed Delta chat via double click. Put in the server address of where I wanted to go into TeamSpeak well before that I thought up to speak and it worked for me

Not sure what you mean cos you don't "save it" as a teamspeak add on. With teamspeak closed, just go to where you downloaded saltychat, double click on it and it should pop up and ask for you to install. Open teamspeak and check if it's listed under the plugins tab. If not go to Tools, Options and Addons, see if it's in the list and enable if it's not already.

If you've already reacted to it you won't see the channel anymore. Can you see the whole discord? Try accessing the actual RedM server and see if you get in.

Try going into RDO and changing your settings there first. Then when you're in the server you want check the settings and make changes. It sometimes says you need to restart the game but you don't usually need to. See if that helps. Regarding character select I'm really not sure what you mean or what could be happening. Best to share that in the server discord as it might be specific to that server and they can help better cos you can share images etc.

@@RedMRoleplay hi, I managed to figure it out. Regarding the character selection that was just me being stupid and repeatedly pressing the wrong key bind. As for the settings, I just needed to lower my graphics, which for some reason were up to ultra, and then I was able to change the settings without restarting

Most of the time you can change keybinds in the game settings when on the server but I suggest that you ask on the server discord for specific server based questions like this.

Have you ever played the base game? If not it's probably needing you to play for a bit so it can download all the bits it needs for RedM to work. Did you start with the launcher open? Are you clicking on play game in the launcher, I don't quite understand why it's opening otherwise? You have to allow it access every time? That seems odd. Have you checked a virus protector isn't nuking it?

@@RedMRoleplay I ended up getting it to work. It was none of those problems but thank you so much for the quick response. And yeah, I still have to say allow every time. Had to for years.

There are some non RP servers and I'll be exploring them more. I'm still discovering new things all the time. Are you wanting to play with others or alone? There are servers that just do horse treks etc and don't really RP but they are still social. If you don't want to be social at all then possibly the base game with a mod to make your own character or making your own RedM server the way you like it is also a good option but much more work. Non hostile could be hard to find due to the nature of the game but I'll keep looking and update you in future videos!

@@RedMRoleplay i don't mind servers that are alive! i just am not huge into roleplaying is all, id be cool playing mute in all honesty. I focus more on the virtual photography aspect of the game, and sometimes Arthur gets boring lol

RedM should be full screen by default, but the game might be windowed borderless, only after you join a server can you access the game settings so I'd close RedM and go into the original game, RDO or story, and change settings there, then you can try RedM. If you need to tweak anything once on a server you can do so.

Did you follow the video steps? Did you make sure Teamspeak was closed when downloading salty? You shouldn't need to open the salty download, try opening Teamspeak again and look to see if saltychat is ready for you under plugins, cos it probably is.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm certainly planning to dive into more servers so I can get bead on how they feel, the mechanics, the style and quality of RP etc. It's a future series for sure. Any particular server you're curious about?

@@RedMRoleplay at this point anything and everything. The current RUclips market for red dead RP is surrounded by trolling and getting reactions out of people. Not really seeing what a server offers both pros and cons. There is really no way to know what a server offers unless you join or watch streams and get a general idea. So I think a rating series would provide a good guideline for newbies and veterans

Each server is different. Yellowstone uses the built in voice chat called Mumble. So you just need to make sure you go so audio settings once in game and turn voice chat on.
