    If Towa didn't dc-ed at one race, she would rank higher at last tournament too.
    Gonna be hard when only the top 3 of each bracket can join the final race.
    Edit: See lots of comments, where ppl doesn't understand how it works.
    How they decided it, is through Amadidakuji/Ghost Leg.
    In a ghost leg game, one of several vertical lines is assigned to or chosen by each participant,
    and horizontal lines, "legs", are randomly connected between each vertical line. Or the ghost leg diagram is already drawn,
    but the portion with the legs is covered so participants cannot see them,
    and they choose vertical lines arbitrarily. Once each participant is assigned to a starting point,
    they must follow a descending (or ascending, if the starting point is selected at the bottom) path
    where a turn is taken at every leg until they reach a point at the other end.
    More info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Leg

      She was also having problems with her monitors multiple times throughout the entire race and she still manage to get to the final, If she didn't DC the outcome would probably be different

    • @kurokonatsuki3170

      A short explanation of how the Ghost Leg works is that, they must always turn to the direction of the horizontal line and cannot go straight down.

      Without Towa's DC it's highly probable she'd have ended in the top half. The points for the race wouldn't have been reduced so... Aqua 1st with Tie-Breaker, Suisei 2nd with the same points and Towa 3rd (with a Tie-Breaker over Marine if she ended 6th).
      It's not hard to argue that group B has the top 3 JP racers in hololive. That's a very hard challenge for everyone else to qualify !

      Luck aint gonna help much in Group B, extreme skill would play a big role. The only way to advance is to score high every race and that'd be tough to do if you've been pitted with Hololive's best MK racers. It'd be hilarious if an underdog wins because the top 3 are duking it out with each other without realizing they're low on points though.
      Possible Scenario where underdog wins:
      Underdog 1: Oh they're pulling each other down
      Underdog 2: This is our chance... let's just quietly and sneakily pass over them
      Reality though:
      Underdog 1: Oh they're pulling each other down
      Underdog 2: This is our chance... let's just quietly and sneakily pass over them
      Top Racers: Oh don't worry, we have eyes all over the place, we know who's gonna sneak pass us

If you check the video, the letters below are already in place (the groups), and Towa is asking where they want to be placed on the top, without them seeing the paths. Towa prepared beforehand all the diagrams, with the only variable being how they are placed on the top. Obviously, when she is selecting for a group of 5 (like HoloEN Myth), she used a diagram with 5 choices, similarly for the others. It might be too early to predict what happens in this tournament since a lot of member will still practice a bunch before it happens, and with practice, depending on how much it is, it could boost someone's abilities a ton. Obviously group B has all the favorites in Aqua, Suisei and Towa, and it's very likely one of those 3 ends up winning the tournament. After them we have other member who are big favorites as well, and always do well in Mario Kart collabs, like Fubuki, Marine, Luna and Okayu. On the EN and ID side, obviously during their tournament Ina was by far the best, but now, Gura has managed to surpass Ina and is the more likely candidate from the branch to win. Bae has done well against Reine in their collab as well, and has mentioned (in a pretty serious tone) that she wants to get better and qualify to the finals. Watame and Kanata have practiced a lot too, and have gotten a lot better, especially Kanata who did better than Luna in the 4th gen collab last time. As for the HoloX members, Lui and Iroha have done a bunch of Mario Kart streams, so they're accustomed to the mechanichs, and Chloe showed yesterday that she's not bad at the game, and has potential to qualify in group A. We also have 3 Wildcards in council who we have never seen race before (Kronii, Sana and Mumei), although Sana mentioned Bae is the best in their gen in Mario Kart, so unless one of those 3 practises a bunch, it will be difficult. And there's also a bunch of other members like IRyS, Kiara, Ollie, Shion, Pekora, Subaru, Lamy, Miko, Roboco, Matsuri... that I didn't even had a chance to mention that could surprise everyone! So happy with this tournament and very excited for it to happen!

    Nothing crazy, maybe just making sure 1st-4th from the last tourney are all in different groups and going random from there.
    I just feel kinda bad for everyone in Group B since Aqua/Suisei/Towa could literally be the top 3 for the ENTIRE tournament.

      @mzou89 2 года назад +2

      I mean if the goal is to be champions better you gotta face them at some point anyways, so better to face them early when the average level of competition is lower. • @unsapient2197
      @unsapient2197 2 года назад +2

      Of course everyone is trying to win here, and its true that in terms of determining who ultimately ends up winning, the seeding wouldnt matter.
      It just seems a bit off that, for example, without any form of seeding, the entire top 4 from the previous year could end up in one pool guaranteeing that one of them doesnt even advance to finals.
      Im just worried that genuinely competent members that I could easily see getting as high as top 6 in finals like Ollie and Pekora might end up feeling really demoralized from not even making it to finals at all (since we've seen just how seriously some of the talents take this competition in the past).
      Even in the best case scenerio where one of them manages to knock out Towa, this doesnt really help the problem since now we have a potential top 3 member being eliminated entirely just because they happened to get 4th after losing to just ONE member that was not projected to beat them.
      In a perfect world where time wasnt an issue, we'd got 3 rounds instead of 2 so each round could take top 6, but from a logistics and organization perspective, i totally get that it just doesnt make sense to make this whole ordeal even more of a time commitment. After all, the only stakes are bragging rights lol.

    Of course no one would want to be in group B, that's why the WRC banned it.

    There should be some cross-region scrims to check if the connection wouldn't screw up the actual event, and also for everyone to have a good test run on their team, could also make for some good content.

    So team B is basically the Slytherin of Mario cart. Actually really strong, but nobody wants to be involved with them.
