I really have to push back on a few points. 1- CT getting spot minutes in the superstar era was fine. The only reason we really know about him is because he did get to play a lot when they were injured. 2- it was specifically jaque vaughn that just didn’t really like him. Sean marks had to literally yell at him one time to put CT in the game, mikal had to tell JV to put CT in the starting lineup. It wasn’t a nets issue, it was a JV issue and that’s why he got fired. 3- literally after JV got fired, his minutes were consistent, his role was consistent, even now under jordi. So lets not confuse 1 coach just being terrible as his iob with how the organization views him.
I don’t want to hear shit about analytics , and than Ben is better on the court than Cam is. When Ben’s playing, it’s literally 5 on 4 . He won’t look at the dam basket . Ain’t trying to hear that shit.
CT is my favorite player so obviously I don’t want him traded. However a team that I think he could excel on and maybe even a missing piece to help them advance past the first round is Orlando Magic. They have everything Cam needs around him to excel. They have tall defenders, shooters, young team that lacks scoring from the guard spot. The fact that they are already a playoff team is a plus and I think he and Paolo would be a formidable young duo. Now with that being said tell these teams to keep their filthy pass away from Cam 😂😂😂
On another note…the other Cam…CJ is having the kind of year this year that we expected from him last year. I’m sure there will be a lot of interest in him from other teams.
I heard the nets already offered him a contract and he turned it down. I believe he's getting traded cam not playing in the Charlotte game I don't think it was injury I think he's getting ready to be traded if he doesn't play the next couple of games he's getting traded that's what I think
Trade Cam for sure if one can. He isn't a player you can build a contender around as he isn't enough of a defender. It's and he can't pass. It's like Trae young but with no effort defensively and none of the passing. Or a harden without the passing. That is worth trading off to shoot for something better even if he is an amazing scorer, that's not rounded enough
Listen, I’m a fan of Claxton and Thomas and I hope we keep them but honestly, everything has to be on the table for Marks when it comes to the draft. As much as you might like Cam Thomas or Claxton or cam Johnson, you can’t let these three players be the difference between getting the 10th overall pic or worse being a play in team and ruining your future plans. It’s a great feel good story that they’re being competitive, but it’s not the priority for the nets future or it shouldn’t be.
It’s possible that the nets already know ballpark figure of what Thomas is looking for and don’t want to give that to him. Right now, the I’mmanual quickley contract is probably one that if I was Thomas agent I’m looking at. Emmanuel quickly received a five year $162 million contract from Toronto. Now he’s a good player, but Cam has a strong argument that he is a better player than quickley.
I don’t worship at the altar of Cam Thomas, but trade him. He is the kind of guy you keep in a rebuild. Mostly because he is young and has one elite skill, but also there is a salary floor and you have to pay someone. Why not him?
Cam is not a generational talent. Cooper Flagg and Ace Bailey have that potential. The nets can't risk being stuck in mediocre purgatory with Cam Thomas as their best player
If ct gets traded. Sean marks needs to be fired same day. One of the biggest issues for this organization is we have no home grown talent since moving to Brooklyn. We always depend on the possibility of getting stars and hoping they work out. Cam Thomas is a good home grown talent that could be a big piece for us going forward. He not a star but definitely has potential and at worst would be a high level 3rd option on a championship team. We’re not even in position to get the #1 pick right now so thinking we’re just guaranteed Flagg or Ace would be a mistake
I get you, but I think he is just too much a defensive liability and his good scoring comes from focusing entirely on shooting and not passing, which makes him hard to place in a third option. To me Cam makes more sense as your get rolling g bucket getter, maybe a sixth man on a good team

But only way Marks would consider trading Thomas is if he wants this team to completely bottom out next season to have a great shot at drafting AJ Dybantsa or Cam Boozer in the 2026 draft 😨... But if Marks traded Thomas and not draft AJ Dybantsa that would lead to a lot of negative backlash from the base 😮.....
