When you look at his performances this season objectively, you start questioning why he is being frozen out of the team. He is still a top class player.
The problem with him is never on the ball, he is world class when the team has 100% possession, but he lacks SO SO much the other side of the game which is defensively......If Auba and Laca put in tackles and come back to defend then who is Ozil not to do the same for a whole game? He needs to change from a tipical no.10 to a free 8 and like that he can evolve with the morden game. Arsenal atm can not afford a player like him.

There is a reason why previous manager never wanted to play him....Pepe does alot of defending. Check the replays.

Stats can be so misleading. If you look at the 3:57 his pass to AMN. Result was an easy goal by Aubamyang, but the hard difficult pass was done by Ozil. He unfortunately gets no credit stat for that. His pass was THE reason for the goal.
It is called Key Pass. And yes, it's counted as a stats
His playing ability was never in question. He is being frozen out for other reasons.

Leman Russ while that is true how about emery? We had no one outside the defense defending whatsoever. How we won games was by outscoring them. How were we able to do that? Because of Ozils creativity. Though he didn’t play a lot, in most games you could feel his presence. By most I mean teams outside top 6.
Ceballos does the creative same role as ozil as well as working hard for the team.Ozil would be much better in a league with a slow pace like italy or spain he doeant fit into the high intensity of the premier league. I would sell ozil and use his wages to get ceballos permanently.

Under Emery and Ljungberg, the team wasn't ready mentaly to play, with Arteta you can see Ozil making the difference...but why he isn't on the bench, I don't understand it...noone can come near him in the team when we speak about creativity and making chances...maybe Arteta wants him to give even more, I am not sure.

Ozil started declining after sanchez left i feel, both of them complemented each other's playing style.

Injury and Emery have spoilt his 2019/2020 season.
He's rarely actually poor but does have a few games when he doesn't play up to the WC standard he can play at.
There's also the problem of perception by some less knowledgeable pundits and fans who think he's lazy (his in game movement numbers always show he isn't) which is down to his style because although he's almost always moving, he does so in a very unhurried manner unlike lesser players who rely more on speed over skill.
There's also the problem of his body language which shows when he's annoyed, but that's usually because the officials are allowing the opposition to kick chunks out of him. It's a reflection of the poor standards of the PGMO rather than on Ozil.
If he hadn't been injured so much this season we would probably end up at least 2 places higher in the PL and with Arteta coaching from the start of the season we'd have been higher than that.
He hasn't had any injuries, the managers have had to make excuses for why he has been so bad in training. He doesn't work and he's being paid 350k a week to sit on the bench and do nothing.

I also feel Emery ruined his form/momentum. To be in top shape and form you need more game time. I totally agree we would have definitely been alteast top 5 if he had more game time and possibly was not injured. I'm so glad Emery is gone he lacked player connection and communication.

Ozil's style of play is youtube friendly because he is silky with his play and he can create. The issue is that when the team is weak defensively you need to prioritize solidity over creativity. Hopefully with our new defensive signings we can get a lot more consistency at the back and transition him back into the team. Until then he is a luxury player for us...which is not what you want when you finish 8th.
