Great review! I'm looking for a phone to use when I'm camping and doing outdoor stuff in general, and I think this is the one. I only need calls, texts, and Whatsapp. There are lots of Chinese made options, but unfortunately, most have no video reviews. So this video was very helpful!
Can you please tell me if its possible to book an uber using the uber website via the phones browser? I know it might take abit of getting used too but I'm looking for a phone to social media detox from but need something I can book an uber on for travel.

So I journeyed around the web in search for alternatives and I believe I have found a worthy dumb phone! I noticed that reddit has an excellent board about the M7 where one finds instructions of how to add T9 and other things! I actually remember now that I hated the T9 (LOLx2) but very useful board there about lots of technical stuff concerning the M7 and that android version!

T9 was never popular in my country, Indonesia, since during era when Nokia feature phone dominating cellphones market, we used to send SMS in shortened words like write consonants only without the vowels or acronyms which is T9 can't predict. Also T9 can only predict standard bahasa Indonesia and can't for regional slangs like bahasa gaul Jakarta. So, T9 was never popular in first place at least in Indonesia even among teenagers.
Yes it does support other keyboards such as gboard but it could be annoying AF. I actually stopped using the phone for certain reasons. But the most important reason is because the buttons on the front keep getting pressed due to no casing. Also the touch screen keeps pressing buttons on my face as well. I keep calling people and sending messages when I don't mean to. Texting should be easier as well once they figured out I'll gladly go back. I believe some of the basic apps they have are a waste such as Facebook and some others. I rather them have Gmail or something.
It has GPS, and the company told me today, that I just need to download Australian maps. That was the 1 thing I needed. I also needed to send and get 2 Mb MMS images. It can do MMS. I also run tools that can cause me to miss important calls - The LOUDSPEAKER is GOLD!!!!! LOVE IT. I also keep dropping smartphones, and wrecking them - WINNER AGAIN!!! LOVE this phone!!!!!!!
I kinda of like this phone and most rugged phones .. but I can not use this one... I must have english and arabic keyboards to type. I dont think this one is capable of doing so. Thank you for uploading and sharing this with us.
Does it have WIFI calling, voice to call and text, is there a block contacts, does it have speaker phone, (so you don't have to hold the phone on a call), can text be made larger, ETC...?????????? Would of been nice to hear a call, and how the text messaging looks and works; after all it is a PHONE!!! No YT reviewers of the AGM M7 care to show that part!!!!! Most all cell phone user know what the apps are for!!!👎
Great review. T9 issues is an absolute dealbreaker for me. I've just returned a Punkt MP02 because the T9 implementation is dogsh*t. So frustrating because true T9 is great - you can legitimately type a message with one hand without looking. I would absolutely buy this phone if the T9 worked well 😞
Interestingly the AGM M6 (basically the same phone as the M7 but without Android/touch screen, just a feature phone OS) DOES come with proper T9 texting. I recently got one and from my testing so far its accuracy is on par with the old Nokias.
@@atommo918 ooh if you still use it, can I know if it's possible to lower the volume for calls/alarms on the M6? Some people complained there's no way to do so, and that the text size is too big. Are there any things you really dislike about it? (the message filing system, etc?)
@@dashas5198 I do indeed still use it! You can adjust the volume on calls- its a little awkward as you have to navigate a menu to get to the volume adjustment bit while on the call. The latest firmware you can apply for it seems to make the text size just right (in my opinion anyway). The only other things I dislike are: - When using loudspeaker on calls, audio is a little distorted (I'm guessing due to how big the speaker is). Using the regular phone speaker (when you're holding it to your ear) has much better audio clarity. - To use the keypad on calls (for things like entering options) you have to navigate the menu (while on the call) and select the 'keypad' option. Only then can you type in numbers. Not a dealbreaker, just a little inconvenient its not automatically on that to start with. I only use this phone for occasional SMS, calls and setting reminders, so its not like I'm having to deal with 100+ messages. I can see it getting hard to manage if you have that many messages though- its just a basic list you have to click down using the nav buttons for each message.

Smart phones are crap because they try to do everything but leaves them good at nothing. You see adverts of people jogging exercising while listening to music or podcast. This is impossible. As soon as you put it in your pocket the screen gets touched and it's playing something random. Half the websites don't function properly. You can't nominalize the audio. so everything plays at a different volume. It's a F'n computer, it's one of the first things it should do. Smart phones are a crap product that work inspite of R and D and operating systems not because of it. Never mind they update and hide or scramble all the setting so you never know where anything is. Everything is a fight to do with a phone. Never mind the security. It's damned insane this product is legal. How does countries in Africa and asia manage to use them for payments without everyone getting robbed?

Unfortunately you can uninstall any preloaded applications from this phone except Tik Tok.
