- Hello all! It is finally that time of the year. It seems like it's been forever since the last salmon season. This is the setup I ll be using for red spring(Chinook) salmon. There are numerous ways to catch red springs but from my experience float setup have been working the best. Goodluck out there!

RUclips recommended me this video! Im a new subscriber. Thanks for the discount on cleardrift
Awesome! Have a good fishing season :)
Super excited for upcoming fishing!
Let’s get it!
Great video, and big fan. I always hooked up my bead with the bead stopper the other way, having the long part actually go through the bead where the hole was made. I find it slides less and a little lower profile. I could be wrong haha
Thanks for checking out! Hmm I’ve never seen anyone do it that way. I mean if it works for you then continue haha maybe I ll try it that way when I get bored 😂
Love your channel
Thanks! Appreciate it
Love the vid man.
Do you have a video that teaches about reading water? I believe that it's the key element to fishing, regardless of gear
Thank you! I don’t have a video about that but definitely will put into my notes for content
Thank you bro I will go trying tomorrow
Goodluck!
Cleardrift beads! I like the fire cherry onew
Awesome! That’s one of my favourite
Great video! So, what's up with pink salmon? I thought you said that 'if they open...' Can you let us know the regs on the openings for salmon this year? Cheers!
Thank you sir! Well it’s pink salmon year but it’s also the year that the big flood happened in 2021. My guess is they won’t open due to low numbers. July 1st you can retain red springs not sockeye or coho. From September the regulation changes
What centerpin rod is that, the grey one u showed
Is there a time of the day you'd recommend? I've personally had more luck early mornings just after sunrise, but no idea what the early season is like. Like your videos!
First light is probably your best bet. Any season you ll have best luck early morning
Dope video bro
Learned alot in that span of min's 🎉
Thank you!
Thanks for the vid river is open ive gotten 1 all ready nicw shirt by the way got the same one lol
Its going to be a good year for fishing!
Wow that’s awesome! Are you saying I should start fishing for them haha. Cool shirt for sure
I hope so!
@@Go2fishingbc yes they are diffnently in the river and yes its a nice shirt
Awsome vid thank you!
What speed water / depth do you recommend fishing for them?
Thanks for tuning in! Look for DEEP pools where oxygen is available for them. They feel safe in a deep pool with bit of current
@@Go2fishingbc thank you!
Also any areas you recommend like to go around?
Great video, why do not use havier egg sinker instead of three small egg sinker? is there any reasons?
Thanks! The 3 small egg weight balance perfectly with the float. I suppose you could use a single large ones if you find the perfect one!
What spot is that called on the vedder
25 gr float is the best 🥰
Would you say a 9'6 rod would work well enough?
Yup it should be okay. Just make sure it’s rated for salmon
If you ever come to Kamloops BC i know of some good places that have huge trout if you wanna make a video
Will do! Do you have Instagram?
No but i got facebook and snapchat
You put the bead stop wrong way around in your setup but they were all done the correct way on your leader board?
Good eyes! The leader board one was a different brand that I tied awhile ago
looks like the correct way to me
I went up to Vedder July 24th and nothing… I did not see anyone catch in lower part of the river.
Have you had any bites recently???
Nope nothing. Fishing isn’t great as of late
so if your float is 25 grams how heavy should your weights be ?
About 20g. Three 1/4 oz makes it perfect
The last video you posted you showed a better way of putting the soft bead on the hook. You actually put the hook right threw the soft beed and you swore of that set up. You said you land 80% more salmon. Now you show the bead 1 inch above the hook. So which one is it?
This video is from 2 years ago. The one with hook through soft bead is more recent. I hook it through the soft bead now
@Go2fishingbc I figured that . Thanks again. Going to Vedder soon..
What centerpin rod is that?

Sleepy time video
😴
Long leader doesn't mean flossing at all , very different style or application (fast water vs ultra slow water , deep vs shallow) - I like long leaders in slow water for coho - egg on the long one just naturally bounces off of the bottom and triggers fish to bite it.But I know why you saying long leader is flossing because of the terrible Vedder river fishermen that want to take as much fish home as possible by not just flossing but snagging (nasty hsssssss sounds) at the end of each drift.
Totally agree with you. It’s the classic Vedder let her rip technique that gets people going at it
@@Go2fishingbc btw very nice videos - keep them coming :) yeah these guys ruin nice fishing for everyone on the river. Can;t wait to have more fish enter the system - and hike hike hike through the bushes away from these nasty rippers to find perfectly biting fish.
Thanks! Vedder is actually not that crowded if you hike in abit. Good luck on your season!
Leader horizontal flossing, leader vertical fishing
