  • Today we will give you some explanations about what morality is and how it should be.
First, what is Morality and How do we define Morality?
The concept of morality is a system of judgments and principles that determine whether people's subjectively various behaviors are right or wrong, good or bad, generally by cultural, religious, worldly and philosophical communities.
In addition, it is the whole of the behaviors that are seen as dominant by the individual and that everyone wants to be subject to these dominant rules.
Etymologically, what is the basis of the concept of morality?
Morality is a word of Arabic origin and means the characteristic features of a person such as creation and temperament.
In English, morality is used in this sense and is derived from the Latin word moralis, which has the same meaning. The word is derived from Latin words with the suffix "purple" +alis meaning "temper, decency, morality".
We talked about morality, we should not talk about virtue.
    So what is Virtue?
It is the common name of the qualities praised by morality and required to be moral.
For the term philosophical virtue, we can refer to it as man's moral orientation towards the good.
For example, Man wants to achieve the highest good, but for this he must be virtuous. The virtuous person follows this path by fulfilling all the requirements of morality and thus reaches the highest good.
In this part, we will try to briefly explain the virtue concepts of Aristotle and Plato, who are Ancient Greek Philosophers.
In order to understand the moral views of Plato and Aristotle, it is important to look at the way of life of Ancient Greece.
Because individuals have moral understandings in accordance with the principles and rules of the age in which they exist.
For some to be truly free, others must be slaves. Aristotle said thus,
But what he really means is: Let them (that is, slaves) do the legwork so that we can find the time ourselves to learn more about the earth and the sky.
I think it will not be possible to solve the secret of the universe while a person spends most of his day with other actions that prevent him from thinking.
Thus, slavery was quite normal in Ancient Greece, where an aristocratic class ruled, and the moral behavior was to have a slave.
    Aristotle's definition of the virtuous person is as follows;
The virtuous person is the one who does the middle and the best by acting as necessary, against the necessary events, against the necessary people, when necessary.
In that case, virtue is to give the most appropriate reaction according to the actions that are wrong in the case of excess, blamed for being lacking, praised in the middle, and encountered.

Kantın burada ontolojik olarak yaptığı şey nasıl objektif ahlak olarak alınıyor? Evrimsel süreçte farklı durumlarda insanların genetik yatkınlıkları farklı olacağı için ontolojiden gelen anlayış yine göreceli ve nihilistçe bir anlayışa çıkmaz mı?
