Mexican Style Pulled Pork - Braised and Oven Roasted Pork Shoulder
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 12 дек 2013
- This takes some time to make, but it couldn't be easier, or cheaper! Its great for tacos, burritos, sandwiches, by itself...Whatever you want!
Things you need!
Pork shoulder/Boston butt/Pork Butt (its all the same thing)
Olive Oil
2 Onions
2 Oranges
Some Chilis
Salt
Black Pepper
Cumin
Ok, so if you include the spices, and the oil, theres 8 ingredients...I lied.
Probably the most honest video recipe I’ve ever seen. It’s hilarious with real life cooking. Looks delicious and can’t wait to try. Thanks.
By far the best cooking video I’ve seen. This weekend is Mexican pulled pork for dinner, with homemade corn tortillas.
Great presentation. Witty without being rude or sarcastic. I followed your video and I added these chunks to Mofongo and to my Central American style Tomales in Banana leaves...Great with Black Beans cooked down with Cilantro and Onions. Oh, and some toastonies of course.
I tried this and it was heaven
I tried your recipe the other day without the oranges instead 1 lemon 1 lime and it was delicious! I have oranges this time I'm going to make it again today for my friends. I'm pairing it with coconut pigeon pea rice and platano maduros! Thank you!
Which did you like better?
Looks really easy and super tasty !! Can't wait to try this 😉
I tried it today. Easy and everyone loved it. Thanks great job
Hell yes the easiest recipe I’ve seen! I accidentally ordered a big ass pork butt thinking it was gonna be small I had to cut it in 4s so I now know what I’ll do with one of the pieces!
Made this with white whine, orange juice, apple juice and some chicken stock instead of water (the white wine should be more tnah hallf reduced before adding the other liquids). After i removed the meat I strained the sauce trough a fine mesh to get it clean and reduced a bit then mixed with the pork bits at the end..... Also i used a little bit of the following herbs and spices (and i say a little bit becouse those herbs and spices should complement the meat not overpower it):, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, mustard seeds, coriander seeds (all roasted and finely crushed), dried thyme, rosemary, sage and marjoram, bay leaf, sweet paprika, roasted and crushed chipotle pepper seeds. Also with fried onions a added some garlic and some tomato paste. When i reduced the sauce i added a bit of apple cider vinegar, and some lime juice at the end to balance the sweetness from the reduced apple and orange juice. OMG was amaizing...
"The jiggliness is a good indicator..." That's a quote to live by.
I tried this recipe and it was outstanding good job buddy thank you
If you want to add more flavor add Beer instead of water. Stout would be ideal adding that coffee burn beautiful flavor.
Finally! Someone who adds plenty of pepper! I love pepper!!
that "ohh" at 8:10.... ya i felt that. i cant even put into words how good this looks....ty for sharing
OMG that looks so bomb!! mMmmm.. ughh cannot stop salivating... i gotta make this asap!! thanks 4 sharing !! ur awesome! 😊

Love your interpretation of carnitaz.👍
looks delicious!!! making this today for my niece's birthday!!!
Wow. That looks fantastic! Trying it tomorrow, thank you!
Looks amazing.
Dude! So frick’n good! I used jalapeños, and kicked up the Cumin spice. To die for. I tried cooking a roast the Italian way. The Mexican Carnitas is way better!!
That looked awesome.
Why debone if you are going to cook the bone?
Im definitely trying this!!!! Btw the voice is very satisfying!
OMG! Dude I like your style!!!
The carnitas turned out fabulous thank you very much!
Looks delicious 🤗❤️
looks amazing. going to try this today.
made this yesterday but used chipotle peppers from a can in the liquid as didnt have any dried red peppers. Also browned/seared the meat as a first step to get that caramelized goodness in the pan and brown up the cuts.
I’ve made this three times. It’s so yummy
Pork looks great, thanks chef.
wow
This is amazing i wish you made more videos
Can't wait to try this. Thanks!
Great recipe. The one thing that would make it a lot easier is to avoid the Dutch oven and use a big steel or ceramic roaster instead. You can really spread the meat out, then you can finish/broil everything in the same pan. ( no cookie sheets or cooling racks necessary)
Made this today and it was soooo good. The meat was very tender too. Thank you so much for this easy, delicious and tasty recipe 🙏🤗❤️
Oh my goodness! That is one delicious looking pork shoulder...Did you say Mexican style? Well I declare! Thanks for sharing your recipe.
Fun video my man. I like your style! You’re very succinct.
Highlights: the Monty Python intermission music. Lol!
‘A shit ton of pepper’ Lolol!
After braising ‘this is good’ (long pause) ‘really good’.
You should make more cooking videos.
Cheers! 👊😃

Haha dude great video!
Delicious 😋
Hey man, I'm sad you stopped making videos, I really enjoy your recipes!
+coffeepot The two videos on this channel are excellent. They're informative in subtle ways beyond the recipe itself, and FoodFight seems chill .
I actually just stumbled on this account again...These comments were a nice surprise! Maybe I'll get back into it sometime soon. Thanks yo.
FoodFight dude you crack me up and that food looks delicious. I'm an American in Tanzania trying to figure out a convenient way to make some tacos for cinco de mayo with what i have on hand, and your recipe is definitely the ticket. i might add some beer into the broth like al pastor
@@foodfight6600 Do you have a new account?
@@foodfight6600 Come back!!!! This was AMAZEBALLS!!!
Just tried it. Looks great. My sauce all render off. Didn't have much to put on the meat.
very delicious 😋
thank u for this
I seared the whole shoulder on the open fire before I made this and it was so good.
will this suck if i try with boneless shoulder?
*it didn't suck! worked great, though I did mix a few things up because of what I had on hand. Great recipe
the fat from that works perfectly for beans ,just saying
right!? Cook it all & when its done, scoop the rendered floating fat & use it for refried beans
@@DB-xo6xh o was talkin about the fat he trimmed
@@crooy2841 That too can be rendered in a pan to get nice clean lard.
@@DB-xo6xh indeed
Best and easiest!!!
That intermission music!!!
Monty Python..😁
Quality recipe and quality video. Some of those shots were straight up food porn. Excellent work.
FACTS
Looks wondetful
thank you
Oil the pan. Cook seasoned meat first both sides just to fry both sides ,, then add half a coke alitt.e water then your two sliced oranges. Slow cook on low 3 hrs..
Made it.....used beer instead of water in the braising liquid. Why not, right? Came out great! Subscribed.
Subscribing just because of that Monty Python intermission.
Nice, lol. Funny, too.
making this tonight
This looks delicious, now I know what to do with my left over pork butt.
That looks so fucking good. I do something similar but I marinade it overnight in dr.pepper and never thought of the chilis and onions.
dude: im making this right now and it smelles fucking delicious ,now you got me into cooking. I USED TO BURN WATER if u know what i mean thank you
BOOMIN!
UM!!!! YES!!!!
Goddamn that looks good.
Q rica receta, sólo que le puse menos agua para que ahí mismo quedara frita la carne, quedo deliciosa, gracias
I love the units of measure. $h!t ton of black pepper
keep making videos please. OMG
if you have a dog, or a cat you can cook up those pieces and they would love it of course not spiced just fried
and if not you can toss outside to the crows or possums
I added a Coke with the water. Delish!!
I luv Mexicans food
I feel like Randy marsh right now.. Im just like.. Aww yeah.. Ff***k yeah ... Man.. cant wait to do my chunk o' pork tomorrow,.
Damn, does it taste as good as it looks?
You should keep making video's
No sabia que los gringos sabian aser Carnitas lol
You didn't know people like food?
No seas wey...esta receta esta perrona!!!
No saben...lol el Mexicano le enseno yo le pongo poquito soda
Looks like a really wonderful version of Carnitas SANS the red pepper hummus on the taco as mentioned at the end. I understand it's a matter of personal taste, but I contend that no self respecting Texan would put hummus on a taco.
Do you boiled it or bake for 7 minutes?
Omg my pith watered.. loved this video
Bro has to make more videos
