Not sure why people are so spiteful toward actual innovation for a tool that largely has stayed the same for many decades. I've always seen room for improvement here, even just the one-twist lock and unlock would be a standout feature enough for someone like me to be interested. I hate tripods as I have to reposition constantly for my type of shooting, this makes that much easier. Question, does the GoLive module get power from the battery module? Honestly I would have loved it to be independent, it would be a great thing on its own.
I like the design, but I don't necessarily need the electronics. Will you be making a cheaper version without the electronics, as I like the compact design and extension method?

Buyers beware --- Benro has not been able to ship The Theta Tripod. Benro is over a year late. They do not even update their website. It is June 9th and the website still says it is expecting to start shipping in May. Have sent a bunch of messages asking for updates and lately for my money back and NO RESPONSES! 1) The battery contact is on the ball-head. So it can't be used near sea spray or water for the fear of it getting wet and getting damaged. 2) Deployment times are so exaggerated. You could have easily opened all twist locks as well as lever locks together in one go. Funny how you were trying to open one lever lock at a time to make it look longer. FYI, I can deploy both my twist lock and lever lock tripods in under 10 seconds if I want to. The question is, who cares if it takes 5 extra seconds to deploy? 3) Your ball-head design is a direct copy of the Peak Design tripod. 4) Finally, why would one need an auto leveling tripod built into the legs (more electronics to get damaged). Buy a cheap $40 leveling base for your existing tripod and level it in under 5 seconds.

Can you lock the roll and tilt axis, leaving the pan axis free to move? Those of us who shoot real estate and architect would want to shoot that way, but it doesn't look like it does that.
Quick question before buying: is it possible to pan and tilt at the same time in Roll Locking Mode? In the video it is clearly shown that the head can pan, and than tilt as well, but not at the same time (what I mean is, for example, a 45 degree motion from bottom right to top left). 3:11
I got the Theta by the Kickstarter project just a couple of days ago. I am *very* disappointed. Its very unstable and shaky, and the mechanics doesn't work at all. Very difficult to pull out and after a few tries, can't be fully retracted. Thank good Benro support is supportive right now, but I'm afraid that I have to send it back. Hope I didn't spend the money in vain...

I'm in the same boat as you. No replies from them after multiple emails and still they failed to ship my tripod. It's been more than a year.
Beautiful tripod. However, in Tradition Twist lock, you were unlocking continuously. It requires half twist

Of course, you can pan and tilt in the roll locking mode. It's for the flexibility to help you do compositions.
