    Great content! :) I just got an internship in a one-man company where I am putting your knowledge to use. Funnily, I can see that the agency that was in charge before didn't have nearly as much knowledge as you and they were charging big money. For example, they were running a single PM for all products at once :D. Keep up the great work!

    Can you explain what to do with under performing products? Because as a business we still need to sell those items?

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  2 года назад +1

      Yes: I put them into a different campaign (Shopping or P/Max) that way I can use a different bidding strategy that is more suitable to their performance

    Thanks for the vid. Interested your opinion on tCPA. Most companies I work are CAC focused, which is a factor of LTV, and concerned with New Customer volume growth. Generally just excluding under performing products hinders growth. tROAS will push higher priced or ROAS products but often works counter productive to quantity of customers. tCPA has been very successful for me in those ecom accounts. Also taking those under performing products just as you recommended but segmenting them out into their own campaign, or taking the top volume products and segmenting those out into their own pmax campaigns. Curious your opinion on this as well. Thanks

    Thanks Aaron - this is by far the most insightful YT - channel on Google Ads! Your contribution is much appreciated!
    Could you also cover the Google Display network in some of the next videos?
    Again, thank you and cheers!

    If you have set up pmax campaigns 6 months ago switching from shopping, would you consider including all the 6-month period to check underperforming products above 5000 impressions? Fantastic content BTW,

    Before we used to have all our products in 1 PMAX campaign.
    I've separated our products to 3 different campaigns. 2 PMAX campaigns and 1 ordinary shopping campaign and the performance has dropped a lot.
    The shopping campaign is performing ok but the other 2 PMAX campaigns are performing very bad. Specially our winner products have been performing really bad.
    It's been 1.5 months and the ROAS has not recovered yet. Are we doing something wrong?

  • @xiwodeqiudai
    @xiwodeqiudai 2 года назад +3

    I don't mean to p*ss on your chips here but here's what I'm getting from those numbers:
    Week 1: 755.85 * 3.55 = 2,754.27 (revenue) - 755.85 (cost) = $1998.42 gross
    Week 2: 709.30 * 5.10 = 3,617.43 (revenue) - 709.3 (cost) = $2,908.13 gross
    Week 3: 244.82 * 8.94 = 2,188.699 (revenue) - 244.82 (cost) = $1,943.87 gross
    Week 4: 262.86 * 9.39 = 2,468.26 (revenue) - 262.86 (cost) = $2,205.40 gross
    So, yes the ROAS has increased massively, but at the cost of volume, and overall gross 'profit' (not accounting for COGS etc) has either stayed flat or actually reduced. This is functionally the same as just doubling your tROAS on the bid strategy.
    How would you scale this?

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  2 года назад +1

      Hey Louis, one option is that you could set up seperate campaigns taking COGS into account so you put high profit products into a seperate campaign.
      Form here you could use "Maximise Conversions with a CPA target" the CPA target would be different for each campaign.
      This would then allow you to better adjust the budgets because if all your products are in the one campaign Google would be focusing on the highest level of revenue without taking COGS into account

    Hey Aaron, thank you for the great video. My number in the listing groups are great. Unfortunately, only a small part of the budget is shown here. I don't know where Google puts the rest of the budget. Only 20% of the budget spend is shown in the listing group overview. How can I allocate more budget to the product section?
    Thank you.

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  2 года назад

      Hello Arnd unfortunately at the moment for performance max campaigns you can dictate where google shows your ads between search, display, YT, shopping etc.
      If you want full control I would switch to seperate shopping, display, search & video campaigns

    Hi Aaron! I had no idea this was happening but I run a Shopify store and was speaking to a couple of fellow Shopify store owners who reported the sudden crashing of sales recently. I'm experiencing the same thing, sales have crashed for me over the last week or two as well. One of them mentioned it was because we were all being switched over from Smart Shopping campaigns to Performance Max campaigns in our Google Ads due to Google automatically making this switch for everyone recently. Do you know how long businesses like mine will suffer with this down-time while we wait for Google Max to kick in properly? And will further work to how the ads are set up be necessary after this automatic switch, or should things be fairly seamless? Thank you!

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  2 года назад +2

      Yes unfortunately many people are not aware of this change. I have not seen many (if any) P/Max campaigns that transitioned from smart shopping campaigns perform well.
      So I would create a new P/Max with targeted images, ad copy and structured to target set product categories

    Hi Aaron, first of all great explanation of the matter. Nevertheless I have one question about those product in PMC that does not have opportunity to gain more impression because of budget and first and foremost products that gain more traffic in given Performance Max campaing. Week by week the proportion between individual products stay in the same shape. What should I suppose to try ?
    I dont think that exporting products that are better performing to second PMax campaing in order to create two levels of PMax's campaing one with those better performing and secondeone with those poorly performing will drive positive results in order to "refresh and stymulete" those poor impresions products. I was thinking about exporting well performing products from PMax to standard shopping campaing, however in that way its risky leaving PMax campaing only with those products that are not performing well. What do you thing about this topic ?
    How to give the chance to the products in campaing that are not able to gain more impression ? Should I exclude well performing products and take them to another campaing or different kind of campaing or should I exclude poorly performing products. What are the best tips at this field? I will be gratefull to get familair with your answer :)

    Awesome video Aaron! But i have a question. So you go to Listing Groups, add a subdivission and then by category or brand? Then further subdivide on "Item ID" or what? Is correct? :) But then i just get alot of numbers which is a little messy looking at haha

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  2 года назад

      Thanks Nick. It depends on how your feed is set from Shopify / woocomerce etc. So just check all of these until you find the what works best for you: catergory, brand or item ID

    I don't know if I understand correct? For example if I have 5 different products I create 5 different assets groups (one for each product) and connect every individual asset with a product from listing? And for example if I have 5 different categories of product I do the same but in one category can be then for example 20 products? I think that i can be done for a lot of ways ;)

    Hi Aaron great channel thanks for your videos. I have an existing Google Ads account and am running (standard) Search and (Standard) Shopping targetting Australia and just started a Performance Max targetting just NZ. The Australia campaigns are the priority - just wondering will the NZ targetting Performance Max take priority on this Account and negatively impact my Search & Shopping capaigns? Should i sit the Perf Max NZ in a new seperate account? Thank you for all your advice

    Great optimize tip Aaron! Regarding different sizes of 1 item, would you suggest including all sizes from 1 item to optimize? Or just one size, for example, size Medium instead of S-M-L ?

    Hi Aaron, Just sub dividing out the product by Item ID but there its a limit of a 1000 item ID for the account and we have 4000+ product. I can see which products I would like to exclude in the Products > Products' menu but I can't get to them in the 'Listing Group' Menu to exclude them. Any thoughts on how to achieve this?
    Thanks in advance and for providing such great content!
