- In July, I started a case study using local Little Free Libraries to distribute indie author books. I'm revisiting these locations to see if any readers picked up the books I left and exploring additional libraries throughout my city.

You've inspired me to visit my Free Little Libraries in my city. There are so many and it would be a great way to share my picture books!
It's such a great way to get your books out there and I'm so glad we got your book into another spot that seems to be a better fit. I'm not sure if we'll be doing a follow-up or not in December. We'll see how well this video goes. If it performs well, I'll definitely continue on and see if your book is gone. I don't have a good memory, but I totally remember where that school was where I dropped off your book.

It's really cool that you're doing this Dale. I wish I hadn't missed the deadline because seeing Gust available outside Colorado would be really cool. Maybe I can do it if you do this again. Can't wait to see what happens.
I'd love to do it again. My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on these long walks. Every trip out, we were gone for about four hours or so. The last trip we did was only two hours, that's how condensed it was in Westerville. WAY easier and we didn't even hit half of their locations.
Stay tuned, because I'm sure if this video performs well, it might be worth continuing this as a series. We're thinking about going to all new neighborhoods and spread the love.
I deposited two of my books in the little free library near my home-about a 15 minute walk for slow-poke me. I walk by it almost every day with my dog. But then we had about a week of bad weather due to the hurricanes and I didn't go out to check. When I went back yesterday, the books were gone. Not sure if a reader took them or what, because it wasn't just my books that were gone, but all of the books. The box was empty. Today, I dropped off another book, and the box was full again. I'm hoping it doesn't mean that all the books previously in the box were destroyed from all the rain, but.... I'm interested to see if my book is still there tomorrow.

There are some straggler books that are coming in. Apparently, they printed off even more and just hadn't had the chance to mail them. Those'll probably go out on the next trip. Weather permitting, it'll be late December. Kelli and I are talking about going to all new locations since we've proven these boxes aren't just trash bins. They really do work in getting your book into reader's hands. If your book is in the upcoming crop, I'll let you know.
This one caught me completely by surprise. I do hope someone enjoys my book :) I still have to do this around my city. There are four of these within the city limits that I could find :) I also have a few other books from additional authors that I want to distribute.
It's such a rewarding way to get your books out there! Some authors probably prefer driving to the locations, but my wife and I enjoy the challenge of doing it by foot since it gives us more time together and plenty of exercise. So glad to hear you're doing it in your neighborhood.
@@DaleLRoberts I'm going to try and do as many as I can on foot, but I think the majority are much to far for that. Anything to get my exercise in too :)

I would love for my main book to be done and see if it could be picked up. There aren't many around me, but I've dropped off mine and others many times. I'm in a wheelchair so I can't just go check (someone else drops them off for me), but I wonder if any of them were picked up.

Yes, they are. I've researched numerous countries beyond the United States and even confirmed with authors they are there. They may not be available in your region, but they're still available in many more.
