    I have 2005 1500HD. I wanted one for years. Found one used during Covid. Market inflation added 3k on to what I paid. I bought it and it’s been the best truck I’ve owned. I’ve had it for three years, mine has 4.10s with the Bose speakers as well. I love the idea of putting in the bench seats. Just hit 173k miles and still running strong!

    The best thing about the GMT 800 platform was the availability of the 8.1 liter Vortec.

    I remember seeing these commercials on tv about these trucks about 20 years ago then being mind blown but then not hearing anything about them in real life then wondering what happened to these trucks. I really did feel I was the only one that knew about these till now that I seen this video.

    These really are the best Trucks GM ever made! I have an '03 1500 HD but without the QS. If GM had marketed QS with a video like yours showing the differences it makes making a U-turn, they would have sold a lot more for sure. Thanks for sharing.

    Bought my 2005 Silverado Quadrasteer in 2009 and still have it to this day. Great truck! The engines are pretty much bulletproof and the Delphi QS system is solid! Great to see peoples reaction when you’re backing out of somewhere and they’re behind you lol. I’ll never get rid of this truck.

    What a great video and thank you for sharing. Honestly the early 2000s seemed like the pinnacle for all trucks and tractors. I would love to get a quadrasteer! I'm thinking a quadrasteer with a 5.9L Cummins would be a great conversion.

    Wow absolutely amazing I can’t believe chevy did this and I am JUST finding out about this now in life 😢. For years I have been a Jeep fan from the history of them to the styling of them. My neighbor has a Jeep that has been on his farm for what seems like for ever. It’s a 1941 Jeep ARGO meaning it’s essentially a tractor. For decades that Jeep was used to take care of the farm from hauling, plowing, transporting, and even carrying for the land when the tractors went down! The history of the vehicle was astonishing! Ever since then I have owned a Jeep! Now after finding out about this Chevy I can see the same thing happening as long as the owner takes care of the history and the vehicle. Very cool!

    4WS tow mode reduces the phase turn over speed from 40 mph to 25 mph, doesn’t affect how much it turns. A common misconception is that the tow mode reduces the rear steering angle from 15 degrees to 12 degrees, but that is not true as the system is electronically limited to 12 degrees. 👍

    That is a Very nice truck! I've had several GMT 800 trucks and I still own my 2006 GMC yukon 4x4 that I bought brand new and it has been an excellent rig. I sold my 2004 ECSB GMC sierra to my uncle and bought a 2018 Crew cab z71 Sierra with the 6.2. I bought it in Vacaville which is very near Fairfield as I live in Martinez CA. I'm curious on your BOSE modification. Did you also relocate the amp in the rear seat? And for the dual voice coil sub - did you have to mount it in a different enclosure?

    Did the wheels fit right in or needed spacers? I have an 02 1500HD and I believe they’re the same lug pattern as the 03 1500HD? 8x165.1

    • @PureJoyFarms
      @PureJoyFarms  3 года назад +2

      We used adapter plates. The newer wheels also have a different offset but the plates about balance them to how the stock wheels fit Tires larger than stock also will rub slightly on the left front inner fender with the 2003 body style. I had an 02 style that did not have that problem. I ended up trimming about an inch off the inner fender to make it fit.

      He’s wrong about a few things, one particular point is the truck is 2500hd untill the point on the from where the leaf springs bolt on. That section was 1500, it was designed like that for stability 3/4 of the truck and the 1/4 back piece 1500 for people that complained it was a rough ride, so they made it softer in the rear to put 1500 frame piece and 1500 leaf springs with the 8 lug

    • @jay6speed842

      You can literally see the 1500 frame at about 4:40

    • @thomasbedford1692
      @thomasbedford1692 2 года назад

      1500hd and 2500hd are the exact same trucks except for 3 main differences, the 1500hd had a semi float rear end, where as the 2500hd had a full floater. The 2500hd additionally rides 2” higher to make space for the trucks that came with an Allison transmission.

    I have a QS burb and love it. There is a synthetic differential oil that needs servicing about every 15k. The sensor has an Achilles heel, don't submerge it in water as if you were docking a boat etc.. You can find some parts on Facebook groups and at rareparts.com
