I got the Q800B last week and I love it. I find the sound natural, speech is clear and detailed and the bass is superb; not overpowering as some reviews suggest but more than enough to shake your floor if you want it to and give you the cinema experience you want. I am adding the rear wireless speakers with the £220 casback I will get from Samsung. All in all this is a great product and I would highly recomment one to anyone wanting a high end soundbar that won't break the bank.

The SWA9500s don't have a receiver module because their receivers are inbuilt within the speaker. It's the SWA9100s and SWA9000s which have separate receiver module.
I picked this sound bar up recently with the SWA9500 rears and the sound is incredible! Got both for around $750 total bundled. A big step up from my previous Vizio M512. That one was great itself but the Q800b definitely has the better Atmos effect and subwoofer power. Q symphony is pretty nifty and you can place object sounds on the screen which is neat, but it’s almoast ‘too full’ in a lot of content if that makes sense. Wireless Wi-Fi atmos is nifty and works flawlessly from what Ive tried but I just use the HDMI connection most of the time since with wireless you can’t use hdmi-cec obviously. Haven’t had any drop outs with the sub or rears but it’s a fairly small room I have it in. I prefer the standard mode for atmos and most high quality content. Adaptive is just the same as surround I think and switches to game if playing a game. I do like the game mode if upscaling content, it has better vocals and feels crisper than surround or adaptive. But maybe that is just me. lol
Adaptive is the best of the 4 sound modes. It produces sound that tends to feel too realistic, more like no longer movie sound. For example, a dog barks and it feels as though it's in your neighborhood and not in your movie. In adaptive, the system will intelligently analyze the content and then reproduce sound that seems real.
2nd on the adaptive sound mode being the best. You'll turn your head at times thinking you'll hear something behind you. I would even dare say it's so realistic it's _almost distracting,_ which sounds odd to say, but if you're used to conventional audio, or not accustomed to rear speakers like I was at first, you're used to your audio coming from the front, and either the left or right. It's so realistic hearing someone say something, or like if a monster is crawling around in the walls, it sounds like it's there.
My settings are: sound options-adaptive mode (for watching tv, netflix and streaming music wia airplay. Eq all on 0, space fit ON, active amplified OFF, bass enhancement ON, channel level: center 4, side 0, top front 5 Do you suggest I change something?
I disagree with the end of this video. I use this in my basement setup and it it’s way clearer than either of my upstairs setups and comparable to the Bose bar I have just doesn’t have the same bass as the nose but for clarity and sound it’s fantastic and I love the Q symphony that’s a nice feature if you have QLED!

I had this a month ago. The sound is great, but im just disappointed, I have been looking for the swa 9500s to no avail. I was told by samsung ph that they had already stopped producing the rear, and its obsolete. I just hope the new lineup will be compatible with the q800b.

I did not really get tthe issue with the drop outs on the sub. You airplayed to the bar and then watched youtube and then the sub stopped working with the blue led blinking?
So you can only use one device through the sound bar via HDMI right? I can't just plug another device straight into the TV and expect that to use the speakers? (Just checking)

I'm curious to know if the Sonos Era 300 lives up to the hype. In your view, can the soundbar with a subwoofer offer a more immersive experience for both movies and music, even when streamed from your smartphone through AirPlay, Spotify Connect, or Tidal Connect? Currently, my plan is to use it primarily for music and occasionally for movies since it supports AirPlay and can stream the sound from my Mac. However, I might be getting a TV in the near future. I have a Samsung QN90a TV and it doesn't support DTS sound. So I bought the HW-Q800b Samsung sound bar. It supports all content like DTS etc. The problem is that I connect a movie with DTS content to the TV with HDD and when I try to open it, it gives an error that it does not support it, but the sound bar supports it. Although the sound system is connected to the TV with eark, I could not solve the problem. What should I do to play DTS sounds and get full performance from the sound bar?
Friend, how can I activate the spacefit sound on the Q800b bar? My TV is Philips but I say that only the bar calibrates itself with the spacefit, I put the spacefit on ON but it doesn't do anything
Just bought an oled TV Samsung on sale (about 1200 euros compared to 2500 full price) and there is also a promotion that gives you this soundbar for free, guess I made the right decision by waiting a few months. Just saved about 1800 euros overall
I have been using it for 1 or 1 and a half years, but I seem to hear a crackling sound in one of the speakers in the soundbar, but I cannot detect it. What can I do for this? Is there any test video or something else, I am waiting for help.😢

Nice review. I'm choosing between the Sonos Beam 2 and this soundbar. Which is better? I'm looking for better dialogues rather than rambling room full of bass. Almost the same price. In the future I would add a sub mini for Beam2.

Have a LG CX model. I plugged mine into eARC and changing the output the eARC allows you to control the soundbar volume. Changes to channel volume, bass enhancement, etc need to be made with the samsung remote or SmartThings app
Trying to decide between this one and the s800b since I"ll be pairing it with a Samsung Frame TV, and I like the lower profile of the s800b. Just got this yesterday oven box at Best Buy for 450 incredible. I was leaning towards the Bose then I heard this and finally hooked it up today. I don’t have any side speakers but this alone makes me feel like I’m in a movie theatre

But do you need a TV that has eARC. Mine is 2017 Panasonic TH-50EX730Z and only has ARC. It doesn't support Atmos. However should I be able to get Atmos through Netflix onboard TV App if I connect the TV ARC port to the Soundbar eARC In port? Or will I need Apple 4K TV box?

Regarding Alexa i've not tried but your other 2 points are nonsense. I've had zero issues with disconnection or having to restart and my system is on daily for hours on end. Maybe the set you had was faulty but to say it's 'shit' just makes you look a fool.
I'd consider getting rear surround speakers a much more significant upgrade because you won't get real surround sound without them, but it depends on your setup. I have the Q700B with a 43 inch QN90b sitting around 6ft from the screen. The soundbar's a bit wider than the TV and it certainly sounds very good and has a wide sound stage - e.g. when gaming the characters that are off screen to the sides sound like they are there. In its game audio mode it really sounds like the sound is coming out the ends of the bar. I expect if you have a bigger TV (55+ inches) and are viewing from further away the 5.1.2 Q800B will be more worthwhile.

Managed to connect it like Spotify but integration not that smooth..specially volume controls..it jumps from 13 to 23 straight..and you can't have a volume level in between .is it just with me or with everyone
Do you feel this this worth the $300 more than the jbl bar 5.1? I have vaulted ceiling angling up and away from my TV placement, I'm not sure if atmos will do much in my space.
If it's an extra $300 more than the JBL 5.1 and you don't mind that there's no app for the JBL or that the volume control on a Samsung TV doesn't give you numerical values on the TV screen when using the JBL then I would purchase the JBL. I've setup so many 5.1's and they sound amazing!!

Nope. The q950a rear speakers shoot sound in 3 directions _Front , upwards and sideways. The SWA9500s shot sound only front and upwards. Besides the output of the q950a rear speakers is way better.

Also, you should consider a refurbished AV Receiver from a company like Denon, and get some used speakers. Oftentimes it's much cheaper and waaaayyyy better than any soundbar
@@abhishekab1 put the wires behind your couch, I have an 11.2.4 Atmos set up and most of the wires are pretty hidden all things considered. I'm also using a BenQ TK 700 STI projector that was recently on sale. if she's really insisting on sound bars then I kind of feel bad for you because in order to get anything close to a real 5.1.2 sounding experience, you really need to fork over for a decent sound bar and rears. check if the q910b is on sale where you are, but also look into factory refurbished of last year's models. I'm not sure where you are, but you may also want to wait until Black Friday deals or something similar.
We picked up the Q930b for 999 USD at Best Buy and it's a much better option for the price. It's a 9.1.4 setup for at or just under $1k USD and we are extremely happy.
Really happy with it and would recommend one. I'd be a bit disappointed at full price because I'd want surround speakers at that price, but with the current discounts it's a really good choice. Films sound really impactful and clearly defined with no hint of distortion. I have to turn the sub down quite a bit for music, but then quality of the main soundbar holds up very well with a good mid soundstage and crisp highs. I had a cheaper soundbar before this which claimed to be a similar wattage and was a 4.1.2 system, but had to return it due to some issues. While it sounded good, the Q700B was definitely worth the extra. It's hard to describe but the sound has more weight to it, whereas the other had a slight hint of the harsh sound you get with cheap speakers. I also seem to be noticing more detail in the background sounds while gaming.

@@hindsy90 Oh no, that's disappointing. Should be paired out the box. Guess you've already tried the manual pairing process - ID set button for 5 seconds so blue subwoofer light flashes and up on remote for 5 seconds. I initially bought a different soundbar about a month ago and the left and right channels would sometimes swap. After a load of testing the support team sent another, which was the same so I've been refunded and fortunately ended up with a Q700B instead. It's a real pain when this sort of thing happens, hopefully it'll be sorted quickly for you.

Jbl what exact model? Anyway i have purchased jbl 2.1 deep bass but i return it because when you vol up the dialogue and then soundeffects in movie i need to lower the volume and after the soundeffect need to vol up again... But now using my new q800b i dont need to vol up and down i while watching movie dialogue is clear and loud even soundeffect is in mix 😊

@@andersonsouzasilva740 i left to adaptive. Subbwoofer is on 4. Eq is 0 for all. Spacefit on and active voice is off. Bass imrpoved On. Central chanels on 3, sides 0 and top is on 5. I was gogled everywhere and I think these is good settings
boy it's not that the sound was so ridiculously good with your settings, but only when I use it with the soundbar when I use it with Q-Simfony I feel the sound is very bad

Pretty sure you need a Samsung tv in intelligent mode to actually get the space fit+ effect. Just switching it to space fit doesn’t make much difference. I have the q800b and S95b and that is what I’ve noticed.
@@slistone1940 Soundbar has built in spacefit. So to use that you need to have mic on. (button on top of bar with line within O) You can toggle space fit from remote with settings button and up down circle. Easier done on Smart things app.

I have JBL 9.1 in my living room and Q800b with rear 9500 in my bedroom, the JBL sounds much better. Better bass and Atmos, its punchy and the atmos actually sounds like its coming from above. The Samsung can't get close and feels mediocre in comparison. Although it does sound okay considering it is a few hundred cheaper.
I am using this device for about 1.5 stars and I am happy with it, but I noticed that the device is working but the light on the end bar and subwoofer is on red, what is the reason for this? I wonder?
I bought this as part of my 75" Q80 TV bundle but was seriously disappointed with the volume output. It sounds good but flat out it leaves me wanting so much more. The only soundbar that I feel is suitable for an open space is the Bose 700 or 900. I ended up buying a cheap TCL 9030 due to it's volume output for downstairs as it craps all over the 800b and it's only just enough. I've tried absolutely everything to boost its volume output but the Q800b is only suitable for a bedroom and will never ever fill a lounge room. Very disappointed 😞 I also have an ancient Samsung HW-H551 320w soundbar and it craps all over the Q800b as far as output 🤦
The 800 b is still very powerful. All the ones you mentioned are no big difference. Neighbors can here it from outside. You either just lie to make this brand look bad .

930b rear speaker and SWA 9500S speaker are same right?
I love the sound buuuut the dam thing keeps randomly muting any suggestions other than just sending it back to the ZON

Considering the lower price in Spain (€386 for the soundbar and €499 for the Sonos), do you think the Q800C is a better choice than the standalone Sonos Era 300, particularly with its Dolby Atmos capabilities? I'm curious to know if the Sonos Era 300 lives up to the hype. In your view, can the soundbar with a subwoofer offer a more immersive experience for both movies and music, even when streamed from your smartphone through AirPlay, Spotify Connect, or Tidal Connect? Currently, my plan is to use it primarily for music and occasionally for movies since it supports AirPlay and can stream the sound from my Mac. However, I might be getting a TV in the near future. Waiting for Samsung Q930b Review 😁
I have a Samsung QN90a TV and it doesn't support DTS sound. So I bought the HW-Q800b Samsung sound bar. It supports all content like DTS etc. The problem is that I connect a movie with DTS content to the TV with HDD and when I try to open it, it gives an error that it does not support it, but the sound bar supports it. Although the sound system is connected to the TV with eark, I could not solve the problem. What should I do to play DTS sounds and get full performance from the sound bar?

You only need an HDMI 2.1 (48gbps) only for Dolby Atmos True HD/eARC. But regular Atmos works with any HDMI

Nice review. I'm choosing between the Sonos Beam 2 and this soundbar. Which is better? I'm looking for better dialogues rather than rambling room full of bass. Almost the same price. In the future I would add a sub mini for Beam2.

3. Soundbar sound hangs in between, means after 15-20 mins of using you can not increase or decrease volume. You have to restart whole system to make that work
I started feeling like I am doing manual labor for samsung after purchasing this soundbar, I did thousand complaints and tweets till I got heard from them and finally they accepted that this product is shit as they give me full refund

Have a LG CX model. I plugged mine into eARC and changing the output the eARC allows you to control the soundbar volume. Changes to channel volume, bass enhancement, etc need to be made with the samsung remote or SmartThings app
How does it compare with a klipsch Cinema 600?

Just got this yesterday oven box at Best Buy for 450 incredible. I was leaning towards the Bose then I heard this and finally hooked it up today. I don’t have any side speakers but this alone makes me feel like I’m in a movie theatre
I think the S800b has the better square shaped, smaller but better sub.

Is this paid review I using same to same version q950a why you give wrong information only standard sound mode give hi quality sound and rest upscaling is very low quality. Even I told n give demos but Samsung engineers not understand even not qualified engineers in India they don’t have proper knowledge. Service also very very bad in India.

Regarding Alexa i've not tried but your other 2 points are nonsense. I've had zero issues with disconnection or having to restart and my system is on daily for hours on end. Maybe the set you had was faulty but to say it's 'shit' just makes you look a fool.
Between The Q700B and JBL Bar 500 what would you choose and why
Are the side firing speakers worth the extra $300 over the Q700B?
I'd consider getting rear surround speakers a much more significant upgrade because you won't get real surround sound without them, but it depends on your setup.
I have the Q700B with a 43 inch QN90b sitting around 6ft from the screen. The soundbar's a bit wider than the TV and it certainly sounds very good and has a wide sound stage - e.g. when gaming the characters that are off screen to the sides sound like they are there. In its game audio mode it really sounds like the sound is coming out the ends of the bar. I expect if you have a bigger TV (55+ inches) and are viewing from further away the 5.1.2 Q800B will be more worthwhile.

Managed to connect it like Spotify but integration not that smooth..specially volume controls..it jumps from 13 to 23 straight..and you can't have a volume level in between .is it just with me or with everyone

Do you feel this this worth the $300 more than the jbl bar 5.1? I have vaulted ceiling angling up and away from my TV placement, I'm not sure if atmos will do much in my space.
If it's an extra $300 more than the JBL 5.1 and you don't mind that there's no app for the JBL or that the volume control on a Samsung TV doesn't give you numerical values on the TV screen when using the JBL then I would purchase the JBL. I've setup so many 5.1's and they sound amazing!!

Nope. The q950a rear speakers shoot sound in 3 directions _Front , upwards and sideways. The SWA9500s shot sound only front and upwards. Besides the output of the q950a rear speakers is way better.

The q910b frequently goes on sale for $799 , it includes rears (not up firing) and the same soundbar as the q930b . Something to consider
Also, you should consider a refurbished AV Receiver from a company like Denon, and get some used speakers. Oftentimes it's much cheaper and waaaayyyy better than any soundbar

@@abhishekab1 put the wires behind your couch, I have an 11.2.4 Atmos set up and most of the wires are pretty hidden all things considered. I'm also using a BenQ TK 700 STI projector that was recently on sale.
if she's really insisting on sound bars then I kind of feel bad for you because in order to get anything close to a real 5.1.2 sounding experience, you really need to fork over for a decent sound bar and rears. check if the q910b is on sale where you are, but also look into factory refurbished of last year's models. I'm not sure where you are, but you may also want to wait until Black Friday deals or something similar.
We picked up the Q930b for 999 USD at Best Buy and it's a much better option for the price. It's a 9.1.4 setup for at or just under $1k USD and we are extremely happy.

Thoughts on the 700b?
Really happy with it and would recommend one. I'd be a bit disappointed at full price because I'd want surround speakers at that price, but with the current discounts it's a really good choice. Films sound really impactful and clearly defined with no hint of distortion. I have to turn the sub down quite a bit for music, but then quality of the main soundbar holds up very well with a good mid soundstage and crisp highs.
I had a cheaper soundbar before this which claimed to be a similar wattage and was a 4.1.2 system, but had to return it due to some issues. While it sounded good, the Q700B was definitely worth the extra. It's hard to describe but the sound has more weight to it, whereas the other had a slight hint of the harsh sound you get with cheap speakers. I also seem to be noticing more detail in the background sounds while gaming.
@@steveco1800 thanks mate. I got the 700B yesterday. Soundbar sounds great. Subwoofer is showing as connected but I’m only hearing static which is concerning :/ must be doing something wrong
@@hindsy90 Oh no, that's disappointing. Should be paired out the box. Guess you've already tried the manual pairing process - ID set button for 5 seconds so blue subwoofer light flashes and up on remote for 5 seconds.
I initially bought a different soundbar about a month ago and the left and right channels would sometimes swap. After a load of testing the support team sent another, which was the same so I've been refunded and fortunately ended up with a Q700B instead. It's a real pain when this sort of thing happens, hopefully it'll be sorted quickly for you.

Anyway i have purchased jbl 2.1 deep bass but i return it because when you vol up the dialogue and then soundeffects in movie i need to lower the volume and after the soundeffect need to vol up again...
But now using my new q800b i dont need to vol up and down i while watching movie dialogue is clear and loud even soundeffect is in mix 😊
I was also between the two. At the end of the day I went with Samsung q800b. Quality over quantity.

@@andersonsouzasilva740 i left to adaptive. Subbwoofer is on 4. Eq is 0 for all. Spacefit on and active voice is off. Bass imrpoved On. Central chanels on 3, sides 0 and top is on 5. I was gogled everywhere and I think these is good settings

Turn on the microphone of your sound bar
Pretty sure you need a Samsung tv in intelligent mode to actually get the space fit+ effect. Just switching it to space fit doesn’t make much difference. I have the q800b and S95b and that is what I’ve noticed.

@@slistone1940 Soundbar has built in spacefit. So to use that you need to have mic on. (button on top of bar with line within O) You can toggle space fit from remote with settings button and up down circle. Easier done on Smart things app.
What would be better samsung q800b vs jbl 9.1 mind i plan to use the new satellite speakers from samsung that would allow for rear with upward firing atmos
I have JBL 9.1 in my living room and Q800b with rear 9500 in my bedroom, the JBL sounds much better. Better bass and Atmos, its punchy and the atmos actually sounds like its coming from above. The Samsung can't get close and feels mediocre in comparison. Although it does sound okay considering it is a few hundred cheaper.
How to get basic 5.1 sound on this system?

You can fix that by press a right botton on top of the soundbar.

I bought this as part of my 75" Q80 TV bundle but was seriously disappointed with the volume output. It sounds good but flat out it leaves me wanting so much more. The only soundbar that I feel is suitable for an open space is the Bose 700 or 900. I ended up buying a cheap TCL 9030 due to it's volume output for downstairs as it craps all over the 800b and it's only just enough. I've tried absolutely everything to boost its volume output but the Q800b is only suitable for a bedroom and will never ever fill a lounge room. Very disappointed 😞 I also have an ancient Samsung HW-H551 320w soundbar and it craps all over the Q800b as far as output 🤦
The 800 b is still very powerful. All the ones you mentioned are no big difference. Neighbors can here it from outside. You either just lie to make this brand look bad .
Check your audio settings on the soundbar, the TV and maybe upgrade your HDMI cable.
I really disagree with your review on the Q800B. You didn't even have a Samsung tv to compare it with. Not a great review.
