    Couple of clarifications:
    - Wolin (Jomsborg) is at Oder estuary and not Vistula, as map showed.
    - Pomeranian Slavs were so intimidated by fearsome Jomsvikings from Jomsborg that they had their capital Stettin 50km from Wolin. In fact, prince Racibor even raided Norse main city Kungahälla in 1135, some time after Jomsborg was destroyed by king Magnus the Gud.
    - Truso was abandoned soon after Gdansk was founded by Polans in Gdansk Bay
    - Bodzia is placed in close vicinity of Wloclawek, old power center.
The scheme looks obvious - Vikings were allowed to stay near power centers as merchants, craftsmen and mercenaries.

That's a trick question. There were no "Last Vikings". They became Christians and went on to rule most of Northern Europe and still do to this day. It's also a trick question because the people we call Vikings historically never called themselves that - viking was a verb, not a noun or a name. It meant to go on an expedition. (Unless you were a Briton, in which case it meant 'pirate'). The Viking Age was romanticized in the 18th century and from that was born the term Viking as we use it to describe the Norsemen (Northmen).

The name Rus' remains not only in names such as Russia and Belarus, but it is also preserved in many place names in the Novgorod and Pskov districts, and it is the origin of the Greek Rōs.[2] Rus' is generally considered to be a borrowing from Finnic Ruotsi ("Sweden").[2][3][4] There are two theories behind the origin of Rus'/Ruotsi, which are not mutually exclusive. It is either derived more directly from OEN rōþer (OWN róðr[5]), which referred to rowing, the fleet levy, etc., or it is derived from this term through Rōþin, an older name for the Swedish coastal region Roslagen.
