i had cancer and got much blood from many people and i'm so thankful! Sadly i'll never have the chance to do that :( because of the chemotherapy you're not allowed to spend anything anymore, thats so sad because i cant give my blood to other people and kids who go threw the same thing i did... FYI i'm 15 and just finished on my last chemo pills :)
I've given whole blood 71 times so far. I'm booked for another donation at the end of October 2016. If you're healthy enough to do so, please do! It's important for the health of people in your area - you'll never meet them, but they will be grateful you did!
I took 8 bags of blood for one surgery alone so trust me when I say, we (the ones who receive the blood) are forever grateful. Something that takes 5 min gives so much more time to those who need. Plus it's pretty neat to know your blood is saving or helping someone else! :) I wish I could personally thank each and every person who's I received.
+Bass Hart I have good days and bad days, I just get through the bad ones by knowing I shouldn't have lived. It makes me appreciate the small things though!
Lucky Lex good mind set you have , i pray to our creator to help you get healthy and happy in you life , is there any lover or family member stand by your side ? forgive me if my inquiry is inappropriate or rude 💐💐
+Lucky Lex It could take up to an hour to donate blood..., well, at least for me since I usually give double the usual donation (they called it the Power Red lol).
My school quite regularly has blood drives and donations for anyone 16+ and I think it's pretty cool bc a little part of you will go of to someone and possibly save their life, or as that woman said keep them alive plus, at my school u get a cookie and juice and a cool tshirt!!!
I got leukemia and the day I got diagnosed I got three blood transfusions. Throughout my treatment I have gotten I don't know how many more. Thank you blood donors everywhere! 😊
Danielle Allen not me my biggest fear is shots and needles and I literally have a panic attack when I see them but when/if I get over I will totally start to donate!
No problem! I was the same way. I nearly passed out my freshman year from getting a tiny (and I mean tiny) shot. While I was working on my phobia, my goal was to donate blood, cause I viewed that as me "conquering" my fear. I'm still not overly fond of them, but it's manageable. :)
+SweetTreats It hurts more to stub your toe, so I don't understand your nervousness over needles. They're small and once they're in they just sit there and don't hurt. As long as you stay hydrated 24 hours or so before it, it's much easier for them to find your veins, they'll popup underneath your skin when your body has plenty of fluid, making the needles hurt even less. But if your issues are just psychological, then perhaps try numbing cream on your arms if it makes you feel more reassured.
+SkyGyrl I've had a phobia for awhile, once when I was around 8 years old I had this really bad nurse and she placed the needle in wrong so then she had to take it out and place it back in..she did that twice. By the time she was done my vein had collapsed and my whole arm was swollen and red/purple, it sucked :/
My mom donated blood when she was 18 and after an hour, she fainted in the middle of the street, literally. My aunt told me she went completely white and when the doctor checked her, he told her that it was because of the sudden decrease of blood in her body. She doesnt want me to donate blood.
Similar thing happened to me when I donated! I was totally fine, went to stand up afterwards and passed out :/ The Red Cross sent me a letter a few days later telling me that I'm no longer eligible to donate blood because I was a safety risk :(
+andypeluche96 Everybody reacts different. Normally in our center the people actually can't go home right away before they eat or drink something to ensure they are ok.
When doctor prepared the needle (for poking my finger) I played with the chair, breathed a lot and fought the tears. Yup, I'm that nervous around shots, needles and etc. Pretty embarrasing for my age, but I can't help it.
I've had a panic attack before when I had an IV, but I can handle giving small blood samples. I'm going to have to get surgery sometime in the next 10 years so I'm thinking of giving blood as a way to prepare me for having an IV again.

Once at my college campus, there was a group organizing this blood drive. literally all day they tried getting people to donate and no luck. After I got dome with classes I decided, hey, I'm going to go donate for my first time! The group was thrilled! I went in and filled out a form only to be REJECTED. I'm beyond healthy and more than willing to donate but it's AGAINST THE LAW for "my kind" to donate, just because I have had intercourse with another man.
+why Its not like the blood is just used on people. It's screened and checked so whether you are sexual active or not doesn't make a differebce. When it a policy is not based on logic and evidence but on old fashioned prejudice it sure looks like a personal attack.
Gabriel Llanos Unfortunately 100% accuracy is not guaranteed and Hep can remain undetected for 12 months. You also cannot donate if you have had a piercing or tattoo for 4 months. I understand there is discrimination against gay people but this is not one of those times. Hopefully in the future as blood donation methods and immunisations improve this will change.
Blood Donation is seamless, once you start donating you get into the routine to donate regularly. Not only you are saving someone life, blood donation is also beneficial to you it lowers your blood pressure, it reduces iron storage which In turn can prevent from developing Cancer. If you want to lose weight then you should donate blood, as 1 pint is close to 650 calories you lose. You feel relaxed and positive after donation so it elevates your mood. Keep Calm and Carry on with Blood Donation
+Travis Mohan You're going to be fine sweetie. It hurts for a minute but you're saving a life, so it's totally worth it. The pain goes away, and you're going to feel great for doing a good deed for your fellow human beings. :-)
if everyone donated a pint of blood imagine huge blood banks, just a huge building dedicated to storing blood. The national blood bank for trading/selling/donating blood
I'm donating on Wednesday. I donated for the first time last November, and part of it was to help face my fear of it. I've been of the eligible age for over a year now, I just never did it cause I was nervous. But I actually enjoyed it so much, and I am so excited to donate again.
Thank you kind and generous people! For 2 years, I received 2 bags of blood every 2 weeks, due to the blood disorder that I have. So I always have a thought and prayer for you guys who donate blood regularly!
I would donate blood if I could but I have a SERIOUS PROBLEM with needles! like when a needle is within 5 feet of me I LOSE IT! But if it really comes down to it I will do it,fear or not. Anyone else the same?
I can never donate blood because I'm too small 😭 4'11 and 90lbs. I've been to several blood banks and know I'm B+ but not one will accept because I'm not big enough to donate the necessary amount of blood required. Same thing with my mom; The women in our family are considered too tiny to donate. *heavy sigh* (And no, I don't have food issues; I'm naturally petite no matter how much I eat.) I guess I have to find other ways to help besides giving blood 😞 Damn genetics.
I donated for the first time today. It wasn’t bad at all. Getting my finger pricked to test my blood hurt worse than the needle. And as long as you eat something before you’ll be fine
What about people with needle related phobias? I've never donated blood because I find it hard to even get vaccines because I'm deeply afraid of needles going into me.
Just last month, I donated blood. I am 16 which is the minimum age at which you can first donate blood. In all honesty, everyone should give blood. You're literally giving the gift of Life to someone else who is in need of it. It feels great that you're giving the opportunity of living a happy and healthy life to someone else. It is acts of kindness such a donating blood that can really make a difference in someone else's life.
definitely do it as soon as you can! you can first donate with your parent permission at 16, but you can do it without parent permission at 17. I would highly recommend it! You can meet some amazing people and hear some amazing stories when you do it!
Tess Hardesty have u done it? If u did does it hurt lol but yh i really wanna do it coz without these people my mum wouldnt be here today so im looking forward to it :p
I did it before! I'm about to donate again next week! It doesn't hurt! And just remember while doing it by taking like less than 15 minutes of your time donating blood can save three lives!
+AnimeWonderland It hurts more to stub your toe, so I don't understand your nervousness over needles.
+AnimeWonderland the size looks big but it's actually fine. It doesn't even really sting. It's more like a quick burning sensation and then you don't really feel it anymore after that. Honestly, they do a quick pinprick of your finger before the actual donation and that actually stings more (it's still fine, just ask them to prick the side of your finger which is a bit less sensitive).
I also have an iron deficiency but I can still donate white blood cells. It's a 1-2 h process, where they only extract white cells, that's why it doesn't affect the iron level I think. Maybe you could try that:) I actually prefer it, doesn't affect my energy level at all:)
+Yakita60 I'm actually quite anemic. I still donate when I can, i just get turned away occasionally during the triage process when they check your iron level. Typically as long as I remember to take a multi-vitamin the night before I'm good to go. Also you could donate plasma, and they pay you for that one :)
I watched such a beautiful video today about a girl who passed away at the age of 27 and she wrote her message just 24 hours before she sadly passed away! I’ve never given blood because to be honest I’ve just never wanted to...but after watching the video of the message that girl wrote, I went straight to my Local blood donation website and signed up!! I will be at the next blood donation when it’s local to me! I also want to be able to donate more of myself and now considering donating my eggs, I’m 21 but I feel like I want to help someone, it just feels right to me to be able to help someone, something I’ve never done! I can’t wait to start helping out!!
Every Saturday the Blood Donation is parked in our local strip mall right in front of the movie theatre. Donate blood and you get a free ticket to any movie want to see. You should see how much traffic there is on Saturday.
I'm horrified of needles + have a low pain tolerance, But honestly, it didn't really hurt. It hurt a tiny bit, but knowing that it's for a good cause makes it 100% worth it.
I donated two times... one was just before I turned 18 which is the age limit (at least in México) because we needed to replace to the hospital what my grandpa (rip) had to use... and then for one family friend... like 5 years after that my thiroyd stopped working and so I can't donate anymore... I would donate every 6 months if I could... it is such a good feeling to know you are making a bit of a difference in someone's life...
I was attacked by an ex, he wouldn't take me to hospital for 8 hours despite it being pretty clear I was half dead and declining. In that time I lost 2 litres of blood to internal bleeding, I had a ruptured ovary and trauma all over my body. Blood transfusions and a wonderful surgeon saved my life, simple as that. Please, donate if you can, you really are saving a life
Hi I was born on March the 20th 2008 I'm currently 13 I was born with tetralogy of falloth its when you have 4 heart problems and only 1-5 or maybe none of every 10,000 kids born, are born with it and I want to thank every blood donor out their for taking the time out of your day and doing this for us and other people that really need the blood you all should be proud of yourself and so are we. ❤️💉
whats your height and weight? Im kinda concerned and not sure if i should do it because I’m a little under the weight requirement but I already signed myself up
every time I get my blood drawn, I cry. it's not cause it hurts but I get this intense fear of having a needle in the particular area. give me a shot in my shoulder are and I'm ok but I legit have an endless stream of tears when getting blood drawn. i hope I can get over it cause I'm damn near 18 now and I would like to donate but I freak out.
I donated 9 pints of blood, was seriously injured in 2000. Took numerous pints to save my life p. Only this year I donated again. I will continue to give life to those who gave life to me.
I had my blood tested once and i pt helped having someone going with me to distract me from what was going on. I was scared of needles but I hardly felt anything and am now going to give blood soon.
+Phanic! At the Chemical romance I'm too young to donate, but I already got blood analysis and they told me that my veins were "too thin and wavy". Like, they told me that my veins move a bit and doctors have a hard time getting the needle in. It was very painful...
Phanic! At the Chemical romance you're welcome, that's why we're here; to enlighten eachother.☺For example ,the song Panda has the names "Danny" and "Philip" in it.☺
just donated for the first time yesterday since i was old enough to do so and the comments really remind me how worth it was. hardly hurts at all! like of course you feel a pinch but it doesnt hurt and i didnt feel faint and i feel happier for doing it :)
One time I had to give blood for a check-up and my mom said I couldn't eat or DRINK but when we got to the place they shoved a needle in each of my arms and didn't get anything. We went to another place I drank a lot of water before and they got blood. But when I got home they called me and said I had to go back because they didn't get enough. Soooo...yeah 4 needles in one day
Well your mom is wrong, at least with the drinking part. It's actually recommended to drink LOTS of water so your it's easier to draw blood. You just can't drink anything else.
+kendrxanne For some tests the doctor's don't want you to eat anything. For example diabetes. If you have a high blood sugar count, but you haven't eaten anything for a good few hours, you probably have diabetes. Water is fine to drink though nothing else.
I donated blood for the first time when I was 16, and fairly regularly once I turned 18. At the age of 33, I was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma, and the treatments I had to go through significantly decreased my hemoglobin. I ended up in the hospital and required blood transfusions to save my life. Now, a couple years later, I am still here and in remission, and I’m looking forward to the day I can start donating again, to perhaps give back to the strangers that gave me another chance.
Woozy Whirl I just donated today and might be a bit late to this, but getting your blood drawn for donation is ALOT less painful than vaccines, just don't look and you'll be fine :)
Why Verscont? I find the needle insertion very pleasant! The needle penetrates the vein and the "blood train" travels to the blood sack. The experienced nurse makes this process quickly and without any problems! It is very interesting for me to look this!
I've tried to give blood and plasma a few times, but each time I was told that my veins are too small for the needles that they have to use. So, I was turned away each time :( I kept trying because I was hoping I would finally walk into a place that used smaller needles. Maybe one day...
I love blood donation, yesterday I donated blood for the 44th time .. I hope many people will come donate blood someday. God bless everyone who has donated his blood.
Hey, if you guys(buzzfeed) need another idea, you could do "The Try Guys try a Glitter Beard" and they could put glitter on their beards and so fourth you get the idea
I have allergies and have to get my blood taken 1-2 times a year and it's soooo easy for me now and I think it's really cool to watch them put the needle in I'm just weird like that
In AUS you have to wait six months after a tattoo to donate. But after then, you can. It is to protect donations in case an infection has occured due to a tattoo. I have a tattoo and I donate every three months 😊
+DarkJusticeZ I believe in the U.S. you have to wait 1 year depending on what state you got the tattoo at, since some states do not regulate tattoo facilities.
+Atrice Warner Millions of people are afraid of needles. It is about overcoming your fear. I am still afraid of them, when the needle comes closer my sense heighten, but i still donate blood every 12 weeks.
I have a huge fear of needles it’s took 3 people to hold me down for my tetanus shot and I’m hypoglycemic so I’m around needles quit often but I’ve passed out many a times being around them. BUT yesterday was my first time ever donating blood at my high school and I did have a bad experience the first time but it was not bad as in the needle I will be doing it again it is worth it I’m telling you your saving someone’s life. I put myself aside in hopes that someone out there will have a second chance at living.
i just want to thank everyone who has ever donated blood. when i had my son 5yrs ago, i had to have a blood transfusion. if it wasnt for people donating blood, i wouldnt be here today. so thank you!!!
Do it as soon as you're legally able to! It's one of the most satisfying things one can do for another, knowing you're helping keep someone else alive.
My college is big about this which is awesome. My mom finally told me she would let me donate, I just booked my first appointment for next Wednesday and I’m SO excited.
Feels like someone flicked you pretty hard for a second when the needle goes in, not bad at all believe me what you're picturing is 1000x worse than it really is
Like what everyone's saying: you only feel the needle going in. Just wanna add that you feel it coming out as well. For me it's like someone jamming his finger nail into my arm. In other words, it felt more like a pressure than anything. It's kinda interesting that they didn't use at least a piece of tape to cover up the needle injection site. People who don't like needles and seeing the needle burying into their arms are liable to tense up, which means that they're more likely to feel soreness at the injection site, and the blood flow slower (and prolonging the process).
Thanks to all the people who can and want to donate blood :) Remember that even if it's not the best feeling in the world to have a needle in your vein, it doesn't hurt as much as you think ;) Yes, you can donate if you have tattoos, just wait at least 6 months after the tattoo to donate. Don't forget to eat or drink before :) And don't forget that you can also sign up to be a bone marrow donor and an organ donor (after your death for the last one) it's really important, your contribution can save lives ! :) Thank you :)
I love watching the needle go in to other people but if someone comes near me with a needle I will knock them out and I will have the power of holding the needle.
I had a major amount of blood loss during a surgery when I was 3, a complete stranger saved my life.
Aww bless you
Bless you and that man, I hope you’re doing well
Andrew 07 WHAT IF IT WAS A WOMAN
I hope during the later part of ur life u can gave back to the community. 😀

Passed out while giving blood and my vein ruptured. Never doing it again.
What's your count now!?
@@tanvikhare9710 I got to 73 donations, but I had to stop due to a diagnosis that excludes me, although my health is OK otherwise.
Ah I'm doing my first blood donation at school on the 28th of this month it's in the library lol
My school is HUGE about donating blood. Probably 80% of our 1300 student donate blood.
That's awesome. People at my school seems to only care about how to skip pee tests.
+KaidenOZ yes. Just yes
+KaidenOZ when were you useful? Oh yea I forgot, when you worked at Walmart
Yes my school too once a month the blood drive comes and it is about 60% of our student donate blood
thats awesome!

Calling out to my fellow regular blood donors!!!

Danielle Allen I would but I'm only 11
Danielle Allen planing doing it again soon!
Danielle Allen I literally have a whole in my arm now

I've had so many blood transfusions, thank you to whoever gave me blood!
How many you had ? :)
I can barely take blood tests at the doctors without cringing or freaking out, so I don't think I'll ever be able to donate blood lol
OMG i love you!!
+SweetTreats Hey i love your channel

Why am I watching this?! I hate needles! The last time I went to get a shot I- I passed out... -_-
Same for my brother xD
same. i cry at blooddraws. im nearly 14...
+GreekGodsGirl I'm also 14. When I was 10, I was so scared of getting a flu shot that I bit the doctor.
Angelica Belmonte I love your picture, Ciel is amazing.

+Kiarah Tenzie Yeah... Also glad she's okay and didn't die.

+andypeluche96 Everybody reacts different. Normally in our center the people actually can't go home right away before they eat or drink something to ensure they are ok.
+andypeluche96 BuzzFeed isn't telling you about the thousands who die each year from complications during blood donations.
I've had 2 blood transfusions so thank you to everyone who donates!!!! Love ya ❣
Love to help people but I get panic attacks around needles
Ugh, yah, I feel like a horrible person but I can't help it.
same here ,but i am not allowed to donate blood because i have anemia.

I almost vomited cause blood and needles make me light headed... Why did I even watch this..
Yeah there was a warning at the beginning so..
+Ashlee Clifton ah I didn't see it I guess I looked away when it was on my screen
I didn't even see the warning 😂 I get nauseated when I see blood and needles as well yuck🙊
Same....i want to donate blood but just looking at needles & blood makes me feel light headed
another brony..
I should really donate. I have AB- (really rare blood type). I was going to do it my senior year of HS but idk what happened.

+why Its not like the blood is just used on people. It's screened and checked so whether you are sexual active or not doesn't make a differebce. When it a policy is not based on logic and evidence but on old fashioned prejudice it sure looks like a personal attack.
+FkkinEddie #DiscriminationShouldDie
Gabriel Llanos Unfortunately 100% accuracy is not guaranteed and Hep can remain undetected for 12 months. You also cannot donate if you have had a piercing or tattoo for 4 months. I understand there is discrimination against gay people but this is not one of those times. Hopefully in the future as blood donation methods and immunisations improve this will change.
On behalf of all of us with autoimmune diseases: thank you so much! Your simple donation makes such a huge difference! Thank you so much!
I have to donate blood in a few weeks. I'm only scared about the needle part.
It's not that bad most people complain more about the iron being taken. Once you get through that part the needle will be nothing trust me.
+Travis Mohan the needles are sharp af. you don't really feel them
+Travis Mohan its awesome feeling, the second you donate u'll be looking forward to the needle hahha
A needle can not compare to the pain of some bodies death.
+Travis Mohan You're going to be fine sweetie. It hurts for a minute but you're saving a life, so it's totally worth it. The pain goes away, and you're going to feel great for doing a good deed for your fellow human beings. :-)
Thumbs up if you gave blood.
+George Mayer I did. It's not a terrible experience and you're saving a life.
Did u just reply to ur own comment
When I am 19 I want to give blood
NO BLUD FRUM MEH
I hate people who ask for likes.
tricked you i aint gonna say anything else bye
watching this makes my arms weak😭
Same!
samee
Lvly Bbg same and I donated yesterday
I wish I could do this :(. Anemia ruins everything. :P
I had anemia but luckily now I'm healthy 16 years old girl. Now I just have to take care of myself. And best of luck sweetie. Good luck. (⌒▽⌒)
Thank you so much ^-^. I'm thirteen and getting better everyday. I just hope it doesn't relapse back.
+LPSLinaTV Don't worry friend! I'm anemic too!!! :3
+LPSLinaTV yeah I do too. Hemophilia ruins everything
I have anemia, too. But the kind that doesnt go away. -.-
if everyone donated a pint of blood imagine huge blood banks, just a huge building dedicated to storing blood. The national blood bank for trading/selling/donating blood
Not everyone can donate blood. Sad fact.
I don't weigh enough to donate
+Bryce Cavanaugh same.
+Bryce Cavanaugh How much do you have to weigh?
SbMerino around 80
I'm donating on Wednesday. I donated for the first time last November, and part of it was to help face my fear of it. I've been of the eligible age for over a year now, I just never did it cause I was nervous. But I actually enjoyed it so much, and I am so excited to donate again.
As soon as I watched this video I booked an appointment to donate next Wednesday! This video gave me the push I needed.
Kinda same, but I was diagnosed with a disease so I had to get used to needles. I'm still get scared when someone says needle though XD
Needles are the bane of my existence, and I had to get my blood drawn because I had to much sugar in my blood.
+happy sounds Needle
what have they done to the RUclips app
What did they do?
+Be Your Mythical Best! It updated and it doesn't look pretty
I somehow got the app to go back to it's old form. I'm so happy.
what happened
Ikr. I hate it.
i feel dizzy and nauseous when i see blood idk y
Me too
+Im behind you so dont look
Same
+Ruby B no need for that
+Im behind you Me too
I can never donate blood because I'm too small 😭 4'11 and 90lbs.
+theemilyanomaly Nature saved you from getting stabbed and robbed.
+Arttu N 😂 That's one way to look at it.
theemilyanomaly lol
I'm 4.7 and 74 pounds....
What about plasma? I don’t know if the same rules apply but donating plasma is a thing too
Maybe if they allowed gay people to give blood, then more people would donate.
+BigSquidGaming Is that true?
That's incredibly not true, homosexuality is not a "scientifically proven disease" +Dachief
Brenden Tran Yep.
ikr
+Dachief Pfft... Dun like change much huh?
Oh hey a needle!... *faint*
Me....
I donated for the first time today. It wasn’t bad at all. Getting my finger pricked to test my blood hurt worse than the needle. And as long as you eat something before you’ll be fine
Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't get tattoos so he can donate blood regularly. Respect
I hope one day I get into a car accident. And then I can get injected with Cristianos blood imo
+Ronaldo James thats kinda stupid if u get in a car crash tbh. but i guess thats what yoh want.
He just wants to spread his douchey genes
+Ronaldo James the car accident might hurt
+BeautyStuffAndNails. Ronaldo blood is worth it, it probably gives u eternal life
If they really NEED blood then let gey people give blood as well. There is no reason not to let them do it.
i cant see how is a gay person blood gonna affect me
In aus you are allowed to be homosexual the woman with short hair is a lesbian :)
I don't want no gay blood! It'll turn me gay!
+KingOfAwesomeness41 Well do you want to be gay? If not, then you don't want gay blood in you.
+Hero Prinny man, I hope you're trolling
What about people with needle related phobias? I've never donated blood because I find it hard to even get vaccines because I'm deeply afraid of needles going into me.
vaccines are a lot more painful than getting ur blood drawn. A LOT.
Ashley ASHLEYM Emily isn't lying
Ashley ASHLEYM I know I'm the same way!
Emilie it isn’t the pain for me, it’s the mindset, I couldn’t care less that it hurts
@@globin3 for me, it's the thought that there's something inside my body that shouldn't be there and it's taking out my blood.
Imdidnt know you are able to donate since you turn 16.... I dont know if it is the same in Mexico, you know.??
wow thats great that you can donate at 16,here its 18 in my country. When I reach that age,i'm definitely going to donate.
I'm gonna donate blood when i'm 18 and save someone's life 😊
tia tran oh then when i'm 16
definitely do it as soon as you can! you can first donate with your parent permission at 16, but you can do it without parent permission at 17.
Tess Hardesty alright thanks x
I honestly love donating blood unfortunately this year and maybe next year I can't because I had surgeries and I ended needing blood.. 😧😧😧
that sucks! sorry :(
Jazmin Reus. Hope yo get better soon love ❤️ what you are doing
Jazmin Reus in the uk if you had a blood transfusion after 1980 you can't give blood at all😱
This looks so painful
its not really painful
+AnimeWonderland It hurts more to stub your toe, so I don't understand your nervousness over needles.
Not even lying to you it just feels like a shot except the needle is in your arm for a little longer
+AnimeWonderland I've been hurt worse by small children
+AnimeWonderland the size looks big but it's actually fine. It doesn't even really sting. It's more like a quick burning sensation and then you don't really feel it anymore after that. Honestly, they do a quick pinprick of your finger before the actual donation and that actually stings more (it's still fine, just ask them to prick the side of your finger which is a bit less sensitive).
Pretty sure I might have iron deficiency, so I most likely can't donate. Otherwise, I would be ok with doing this.
+Yakita60 Yeah!! I went to donate last winter and they said my iron was too low. I was upset!
+Yakita60 ehm, i had that before. i just took some iron pills over some weeks and it went back to normal? i don't see the problem
***** the problem is I'm a wussy baby who can't swallow pills. :(
I watched such a beautiful video today about a girl who passed away at the age of 27 and she wrote her message just 24 hours before she sadly passed away! I’ve never given blood because to be honest I’ve just never wanted to...but after watching the video of the message that girl wrote, I went straight to my
Local blood donation website and signed up!! I will be at the next blood donation when it’s local to me! I also want to be able to donate more of myself and now considering donating my eggs, I’m 21 but I feel like I want to help someone, it just feels right to me to be able to help someone, something I’ve never done! I can’t wait to start helping out!!
It would've been better if they were people who hated needles
Every Saturday the Blood Donation is parked in our local strip mall right in front of the movie theatre. Donate blood and you get a free ticket to any movie want to see. You should see how much traffic there is on Saturday.
that's cool
I need to get my mall to do that
I'm not scared of needles, i'm scared it will hurt because some people shake and stuff
Thank you to everyone who donates blood ❤ myself and many others depend on you 😊
props to buzzfeed for giving the warning =)
Thank you for all that give! I have a Von Willie Brands Disease where my clotting factor is low.
ive never given blood before because im gay and somehow that makes me inherently diseased :/
I would rather have straight blood
* Facepalm *
I know it sucks
+Chicken is Vegan Vegans can't give blood ether(Btw. I am vegan as well). + your comment seems so ignorant (homophobic)
wait I thought someone was lying about that
I would but I'm 13 so yk.. have to wait 5 years
Chemical Ness think its only 3 years
U can do it when ur 16 u just need a parent permission form filled out, that's what I am doing currently, I'm getting it done in like 2 weeks
Angela Hagerman why are you going to donate your blood it's your blood
Immy Ward that doesn't make any sense what do u mean?
Angela Hagerman I mean it was originally your blood
I read people donate period blood the first time
I fainted after the last time I gave blood.
Me too....
ASolvie I felt dizzy when I donated back in October
whats your height and weight? Im kinda concerned and not sure if i should do it because I’m a little under the weight requirement but I already signed myself up
I’m 5’2 and 115
every time I get my blood drawn, I cry. it's not cause it hurts but I get this intense fear of having a needle in the particular area. give me a shot in my shoulder are and I'm ok but I legit have an endless stream of tears when getting blood drawn. i hope I can get over it cause I'm damn near 18 now and I would like to donate but I freak out.
Same with and I'm 19.
I donated 9 pints of blood, was seriously injured in 2000. Took numerous pints to save my life p. Only this year I donated again. I will continue to give life to those who gave life to me.
I want to do this
But I am terrified on needels
I had my blood tested once and i pt helped having someone going with me to distract me from what was going on. I was scared of needles but I hardly felt anything and am now going to give blood soon.
Sophie Hussain same I would do it, but I'm freaken terrified of needles
Theo Jones I know I had to have my dad distract me when they did blood tests on me cause I had nowhere to look and I was soo terrified
My veins are too thin and it's really difficult for doctors to draw blood
+Phanic! At the Chemical romance I'm too young to donate, but I already got blood analysis and they told me that my veins were "too thin and wavy". Like, they told me that my veins move a bit and doctors have a hard time getting the needle in. It was very painful...
Yooooo!!! Pham we are everywhere😏😏😏
+Melanie Cano hello you disobedient avocado
+Melanie Cano thank you for enlightening me
Phanic! At the Chemical romance you're welcome, that's why we're here; to enlighten eachother.☺For example ,the song Panda has the names "Danny" and "Philip" in it.☺
Got my very first appointment on 23rd of Dec. So nervous but so happy to be helping others who need it!
I wish I could donate but I have a huge phobia of needles and I'm also way to skinny and I was told even if I wanted to get blood drawn, I couldn't :(
You have to be 18 to donate blood in India so I shall be donating next year in August!!!
Aarya shah I think it is the same in the U.S to
Emma Shelley 16
just donated for the first time yesterday since i was old enough to do so and the comments really remind me how worth it was. hardly hurts at all! like of course you feel a pinch but it doesnt hurt and i didnt feel faint and i feel happier for doing it :)
Soooo...yeah 4 needles in one day
+Hunter Quinton Try being a type 1 diabetic. We have to deal with more than 4 needles a day just to survive...
Really? That sounds horrible. I feel sorry for you
Well your mom is wrong, at least with the drinking part. It's actually recommended to drink LOTS of water so your it's easier to draw blood. You just can't drink anything else.
I eat and drink anytime before people take my blood, idk what youmom was talking about
+kendrxanne For some tests the doctor's don't want you to eat anything. For example diabetes. If you have a high blood sugar count, but you haven't eaten anything for a good few hours, you probably have diabetes.
Water is fine to drink though nothing else.
I've always donated blood. My biggest problem? When I get sick or stressed...I lose weight and sometimes have trouble meeting the weight requirements.
I've been thinking about doing this, but i have a fear of needles. Maybe it would help me get over it though?
Woozy Whirl I just donated today and might be a bit late to this, but getting your blood drawn for donation is ALOT less painful than vaccines, just don't look and you'll be fine :)
XXXTENTACION - BAD VIBES FOREVER it’s not the pain that bothers me, I don’t even feel anything because I’m too busy freaking out
Why Verscont? I find the needle insertion very pleasant! The needle penetrates the vein and the "blood train" travels to the blood sack. The experienced nurse makes this process quickly and without any problems! It is very interesting for me to look this!
@@FNIF2 it makes me physically sick/freaked out honestly. When I freak out, it's not good.
I've tried to give blood and plasma a few times, but each time I was told that my veins are too small for the needles that they have to use. So, I was turned away each time :(
I kept trying because I was hoping I would finally walk into a place that used smaller needles.
I have allergies and have to get my blood taken 1-2 times a year and it's soooo easy for me now and I think it's really cool to watch them put the needle in I'm just weird like that
InstantElla same bro same!!
I have to look otherwise I'll freak out but I don't think I could actually donate blood for many reasons.
Donating blood in 5 days times. Really nervous but the idea of helping someone in need is so worth it.
I thought people with tattoos cant donate blood, the girl with tattoo donated blood tho.
In AUS you have to wait six months after a tattoo to donate. But after then, you can. It is to protect donations in case an infection has occured due to a tattoo. I have a tattoo and I donate every three months 😊
+DarkJusticeZ I believe in the U.S. you have to wait 1 year depending on what state you got the tattoo at, since some states do not regulate tattoo facilities.
your not allowed sometimes
I guess its in every country different
+DarkJusticeZ if you have got a tattoo within the last year (uk)
I won't donate blood because I am extremely afraid of needles.
Man up
+Atrice Warner Millions of people are afraid of needles. It is about overcoming your fear.
I am still afraid of them, when the needle comes closer my sense heighten, but i still donate blood every 12 weeks.
+Atrice Warner I had to get blood drawn today and I screamed and cried... long story short I am too
+Atrice Warner good luck when you might need blood and someone wont give you beacuse they are afraid!
Once it's in the worst part is over
I have a huge fear of needles it’s took 3 people to hold me down for my tetanus shot and I’m hypoglycemic so I’m around needles quit often but I’ve passed out many a times being around them. BUT yesterday was my first time ever donating blood at my high school and I did have a bad experience the first time but it was not bad as in the needle I will be doing it again it is worth it I’m telling you your saving someone’s life. I put myself aside in hopes that someone out there will have a second chance at living.
I need to get some of my vitamins up, then I will fore sure donate blood
For
OMG!YOU GIVE THEM BLOOD,THEY GIVE YOU COOKIES!I'D DO THAT EVERY DAY!
i just want to thank everyone who has ever donated blood.
when i had my son 5yrs ago, i had to have a blood transfusion. if it wasnt for people donating blood, i wouldnt be here today. so thank you!!!
I want to donate blood so badly but I'm only 15 😭
Same.. 3 years to go!😫
Same
Not in my country..
in the usa you can donate blood at 16 in most states with a parents signature.
Do it as soon as you're legally able to! It's one of the most satisfying things one can do for another, knowing you're helping keep someone else alive.
I cant wait for my 18th birthday to be able to donate blood
Grim Reaper Depending on where you live, you might be able to donate at 16!
Drew G.
Sadly where I live the 18 is a minimum :(
Grim Reaper I love your profile pic because death is awesome
My college is big about this which is awesome. My mom finally told me she would let me donate, I just booked my first appointment for next Wednesday and I’m SO excited.
The last time I gave blood I blacked out.
+Simmer Princess Same.
+Simmer Princess When I donate blood I get a cookie :3 #YUSSS
+Bribug Chronicles The clinic I go to has an open cafe with chips, cookies, beverages etc. You know I'm raiding that every time xD
Graceus Lol lucky!!!
For people who donate blood, does the needle hurt?
Feels like someone flicked you pretty hard for a second when the needle goes in, not bad at all believe me what you're picturing is 1000x worse than it really is
+Allan Morancie really? because the needle was in there for so long and it looked so sharp 😂
+ApplePie04 Once it's inside you can't really feel it anymore :)
+ApplePie04 yes. I don't know about you but when i did it i felt a sharp pinprick of pain for the duration of the donation.
The blood donater are real heroes
Thanks to all the people who can and want to donate blood :) Remember that even if it's not the best feeling in the world to have a needle in your vein, it doesn't hurt as much as you think ;) Yes, you can donate if you have tattoos, just wait at least 6 months after the tattoo to donate. Don't forget to eat or drink before :) And don't forget that you can also sign up to be a bone marrow donor and an organ donor (after your death for the last one) it's really important, your contribution can save lives ! :) Thank you :)
last time I got a shot I cried ;-; I hate needles
Sheriff Llama I got blood taken and had a full on panic attack before hand. I hate needles sooooooo much
Charlotte Leto same dont hate needles just the sight of my blood
I donated blood as soon as I was 16 and I felt so happy that I did everything I could to help!
I love watching the needle go in to other people but if someone comes near me with a needle I will knock them out and I will have the power of holding the needle.
How psychotic am I?
But the thing is I want to give blood when I'm older (I'm only 14 so)
+Panic! At The Phandom your luck I have to get every week I have chrons :(
