I never really got into drill music because I didn't like how they glorified violence so much and lead to violence. It's literally why a lot of those rappers are dead and not just because they were in gangs or wanted smoke with their opps. The only drill rapper I really liked was Pop Smoke and I didn't really knew his music until his passing. It's unfortunate that he became more known after that.
He was still very well know before he died. Obviously he got more popular after his death, but it's not like he was irrelevant. He literally died 12 days after a crazy album drop.
For me, NY drill died along w Pop. I don't think that NY drill is dead but actually stronger. The NY artist transitioned into the NJ club beats and it's taking off. You have 41, DD Osama, Bloodie, Dougie B and a cast of others. If you see the numbers that people are getting just doing reactions to these artists. It's actually bigger now than it was before and the numbers say so.
